Episode # 10180
Tape Date: 9/30/05
Air Date: 11/3/05
Director: Roger Inman

Summary: Sami makes one more play for Lucas before giving up…Nicole makes a play for Austin…Jack sneaks off in the middle of the night, followed by Jennifer…Hope and Bo have a “discussion” over finances. (If you need to skip a show, this is the one).

At the Brady House…Hope is busy trying to balance the checkbook and worries that they are over budget, because of Bo’s little gifts to Chelsea. She asks him not to make a habit of it, but he says he can’t promise that. He says if she needs his help financially, he will be there. But he promises to talk to her about responsibility. Hope thinks that Billie should be helping shoulder the burden of her daughter as well and she is just afraid that Chelsea is using Bo. But he refuses to believe that, determined to help her out when he can. Hope thinks he is spoiling her and even applauds Billie for not wanting to do that. She fears that he will only be hurting Chelsea in the long run. They finally come to a compromise when he says he will have a talk with her. Back to the laptop, Hope has an email from one of her school friends who has a son the same age as Shawn. Her son is going to law school as well, so this sends Hope off on another tangent about Shawn dropping out of school. Bo assures her that Shawn will be okay and besides, he can make good money as a mechanic. Hope says it isn’t about the money OR being a mechanic…she just wants him to have an education. She says she is not going to let it go and is determined he will get an education. Bo says Shawn has to make his own decisions but she says she only wants what’s best for him. A sleepy Zack comes down asking why they are fighting as Bo takes him back to bed. Hope wonders what’s happening to them. Bo tucks Zack into bed and he wants a story…NOT a Curious George…one, but a “made up” one. Bo starts with “once upon a time…” and tells him about the prince of Salem and his princess bride who he loves…and their tiny prince. He talks about how sometimes they disagree, but they always love each other, as Hope stands in the doorway smiling.

At Lucas’s Apartment…Sami grabs Lucas and kisses him. Lucas tries to deny his feelings, saying he just cannot forgive and forget (as Will listens). She says that Austin believes in her, but Lucas says Austin is crazy (LOL). She begs for forgiveness but Lucas says he can’t forgive all her lies, he has made up his mind and no one can change it. Will comes storming out and yells “what about me?” Sami wants to hear him out and he says he thinks they still love each other and they should do whatever it takes to work it out. He says if she had believed and trusted in Lucas’s love, she wouldn’t have ended up in this mess. Sami promises to do whatever it takes to earn their trust again. But Lucas says he can’t go down that road again, it’s over. There is a knock at the door and he opens it to find Sophie, who says she couldn’t wait to get her hands on him and kisses him (as Will and Sami stare in shock). Lucas explains that they are going out to celebrate his new job. As they leave, ‘Streets of Love’ plays. Sami thanks Will for his support and suggests they do something together, but he says he has homework and storms off and Sami leaves in tears. Sami ends up in the park crying alone when she is joined by a vagrant woman. The woman (Janet) tells her (if her man is like HERS) he will never take her back. As she sips from her flask, she advises Sami to let it go and move on, as he has done. She tells her not to end up like her and then she leaves. Sami thinks maybe she is right, if Lucas can move on, so can she. So she picks herself up and dusts herself off.

At Chez Rouge…Nicole and Austin are there as she is having flashbacks of talking to Austin about his love life (or lack thereof, as he says) and his leaving his heart in Salem. She wonders who he came back for. They talk about working together and her life after Brady. He tells her the real reason he brought her there was to talk about their future, which puts a sparkle in her eye. But he is talking about work, praising her for her hard work. He talks about taking things further and leans over and kisses her (in her dreams of course). She snaps out of her fantasy as he drones on about work and she says that work IS her life now, since Brady left. She talks about him dumping her when Chloe came back. Austin talks about being in love and how he left his heart in Salem and couldn’t come back until he knew she was available (any guesses who he’s talking about? LOL). Nicole is racking her brain trying to figure out if he is talking about her or Sami (BUZZ…wrong answer...neither one*). She asks him about it, but he is vague and won’t tell her who he is talking about, saying he learned to keep his mouth shut, until the time is right. He offers her a dance as a consolation.

While they are dancing, Lucas and Sophie arrive. She apologizes for interrupting his visit with Sami earlier, but he says it’s okay. He explains that Sami was trying to get back together, but that is over and there is no chance of that. He sees Austin and Nicole dancing and is shocked. So they high-tail it out of there. Outside, she says there is something she wants to do…kiss him…without his ex watching. So she lays a big one on him and they leave. Of course, Sami is lurking in the bushes and comments that now she NEEDS a drink and goes inside. Austin and Nicole have finished their dance and head for their table, when she trips and falls into his arms. Sami sees this and says “no way, Nicole…you are not getting away with this.”

At the Deveraux House…Jack and Jen are asleep in bed when the phone rings. Jack quickly answers it and promises the caller to call right back. He goes outside to place the call as Jen wakes up, looking for him. He talks to someone about assisted suicide and someone that can help him, so he writes down the address and takes off. After he is gone, Jen comes outside looking for him. Frankie rushes up behind and grabs her, thinking it was a burglar. She tells him about Jack sneaking off and they find a piece of paper on the ground with an address. Jack arrives at the place to meet with someone and has second thoughts. But the creepy old man opens the door and tells him to come in “death awaits”. Jack goes in and comments that the place reminds him of ‘Harry Potter’. Even though it is a bookstore, the man is clueless as to who that is. Jack explains that he was referred to him by an assisted suicide hotline. The man says he understands…he came there to die. He explains that he is the only bookstore who carries books on that subject and tells him that there ARE other options. But Jack says this is the way to go for him. Meanwhile, Jen and Frankie have arrived outside, wondering what Jack is doing there. She hugs Frankie, thanking him for coming with her. The man comes back and gives Jack some books, the top on reading “Compassion to the End: Assisted Suicide”. Jack says this is it…just what he was looking for. Jen and Frankie come in as she asks what he is doing there and (startled) Jack drops the books. She picks up the books and stares in shock, saying she can’t believe he is doing this…as the previews show…

Mimi (to Shawn): What kind of monster am I?...You must think I am a horrible person…You must have lost all respect for me…

Man (to John): You are going to have a lot more power than you need… (John): Yea, it’s really going to blow him away…

Jack (to Jen): What’s wrong?...you look like you have seen a ghost. (Jen): I know exactly what’s going on…

Marlena (to Alex): I am going to stay faithful to John…I’m going to honor my wedding vows. (Alex): WHAT?...

And the credits roll…
