Episode # 10199
Tape Date: 10/28/05
Air Date: 12/1/05
Director: Roger Inman
Summary: Sami and Lucas both make strategic moves…Jack’s car is retrieved from the river…Philip worries over Claire, as Kate worries over him.
At the Hospital…Philip watches over Claire, telling her she will be fine and to keep fighting (as Kate listens from nearby). Kate thinks that Belle is lying and that Shawn must be the father. Philip asks if she is okay and she says she just worried about the baby. She tells him she is worried about his and Belle’s health too. Philip tells her that Belle is with Shawn right now, which Kate doesn’t like. He says that Shawn and Mimi are helping him take care of Belle. His leg is hurting him as he has been standing too long so Kate tries to get him to rest as well. Lexie comes by as Kate talks to her, babbling about Philip losing his baby. Lexie assures her that Claire will be okay, but Kate says if he lost her she doesn’t know how he would handle it. Lexie talks about when she lost her baby and how it almost destroyed her and Abe. Lexie tries to assure her that Claire will be fine and so will Philip and Belle. Kate asks her about the test results and Lexie says she will let them know. Lexie urges her to go home and get some rest, but Kate refuses to leave. After Lexie leaves, Kate goes back to Philip as he watches over the baby. He says he thinks she has his eyes and asks Kate if Claire looks like he did as a baby. She tells him that when she looks at her she sees Philip…she is his daughter…no doubt about it. Philip talks about how becoming a dad has changed him and it is all he ever dreamed of. Kate tries to get him to go eat and get some rest, but he won’t leave the baby’s side. He asks why is this happening as Kate tries to assure him all will be okay but he tells her that she isn’t God and she can’t guarantee that Claire will be okay. But she thinks to herself she will do whatever she has to in protecting her children.
At Austin, Inc…Austin has left Sami and Nicole alone and they are at each others’ throats. It seems that Austin has gone to meet with Mickey and they are going after the highstyle account. Sami says that Nicole is only after Austin and everyone knows it. Nicole denies it, saying she is only working after this account. Nicole accuses Sami of being jealous as Nicole has a couple long flashbacks (first of Austin leaving town and then one about his return). She finally admits to it, but says that Sami is after him as well. Now it’s time for Sami to have a flashback of her own. Sami says that Nicole has almost ruined Austin’s business but Nicole says they must acquire this company to survive. She tells Sami that she overheard Lucas and Victor and that they are going after it as well. But Sami still thinks it is a mistake, even though Nicole says this is their only chance to make it…if this fails, they may be ruined. Sami has had enough and says she is going to talk to Lucas about Will and leaves. Nicole is sure that Sami is wrong and she plans to steal this account right out from under Lucas’s nose.
At Lucas’s Apartment…
He is working on his information on highstyle. He has Eugenia on the phone working as well as they try to get ready for his meeting. Later, he thanks her for her work and says now all he needs is Victor’s okay. Sami comes over wanting to talk about Will’s grades. Lucas hides his work and lets her in as they argue for a while over Will’s grades and the parent-teacher conference tomorrow. Lucas says that Will is only distracted…because of Sami. She complains about Nicole being in her apartment and how she can’t stand her. Lucas tells her that he is doing this for Will and berates her for getting involved in Austin’s business. They start arguing again and Lucas accuses her of wanting Austin and says that Austin only gave her a job because he felt sorry for her. He asks Sami if she ever really loved him (Lucas). Sami has had enough and tells him she is ready to leave. Lucas tells her she made her choice and now she is stuck with Nicole. She goes on about how she can’t stand her and talks about how she is ruining Austin’s company and blurts out the information about highstyle. She realizes what she did and begs him not to tell she spilled the beans. He tells her she should talk Austin out of it. He tells her he has work to do and rushes her out. Once in the hall, Sami smiles, happy with herself, sure that Lucas will now go after highstyle and in the process, make Nicole look like a fool. After she leaves, Lucas is on the phone with Victor, telling him about how Sami can’t keep her big mouth shut. He wants to be sure to set up a meeting before Austin, so Victor offers the jet. Back at the other apartment, Nicole has finished the proposal for takeover as Sami continues to tell her they are making a mistake. Nicole gives Sami a hard time about her 2 ex’s (Austin and Brandon) working/living in the same place, saying the landlord should give her some kind of discount. Sami keeps telling her she is going to fail and end up on her ass and take turns calling each other “loser”. Sami says she KNOWS Nicole is going to lose as Nicole asks WHAT has she done this time as Sami plays innocent. She says if Austin listens to her, he will fail…they are taking unnecessary risks. They continue to argue as Nicole justifies this move. Sami says when they fail, Austin will realize what a mistake he has made. Nicole says this is a can’t miss deal.
Then we see Lucas arriving at the highstyle offices (what a fast jet, lol). He walks in and gasps “Oh my God…it’s YOU!” (but we don’t see…but I think everyone knows who it is).

Search for Jack…Jennifer refuses to believe that Jack is gone. Bo tells her and Abby about the search but they won’t believe he is dead. Bo never saw his body and assures her they are doing all they can. Bo gets a call from the scene…they have yet to find him…but Jen is sure he is alive. Bo needs to return and Jen is determined to go along. They all arrive at the bridge as Jen calls for him with Hope holding her back. Frankie tries to calm her down but both she and Abby are hysterical. Bo and Hope watch as they say she can’t accept what is right in front of her. Hope talks about how lucky they (Bo & Hope) are and about how she will never take him or her family for granted. A firemean tells Bo they are ready to pull the car up and Bo wishes Jen wasn’t there. They get the car up on the bridge as Bo opens the door but Jack isn’t inside. Jen starts yelling where is he…where is my husband? She cries as Hope holds her…And the previews show…
Philip (to Claire): I don’t know what I am going to do if anything happens to you (shots of Mimi, Kate and Victor). I know one thing…I’m not going to want to live anymore…
Nicole (to Sami) I am a business woman…you are a wannabe…You are lucky Austin’s giving you a chance…
Jen: Unless you show me his lifeless body, my husband is still alive…do you hear me…All of you!
Hope (to Bo): God has a plan…Jack had a plan…Brady, if you know something you had better tell me now.
And the credits roll…

Episode #10,198Tape date – 10/24
Director – Phil Sogard
The rescue team continues the search for Jack, while others maintain the vigil at the hospital, and Jennifer keeps an upbeat attitude at home, while waiting for her husband.
MIMI & SHAWN are in the shower, and the water coming out of the shower head isn’t the only thing hot and steamy. They kiss passionately (wish Mimi would ditch the black nail polish, ugh), and then later, we see them cuddling in bed, telling each other
how much they enjoy being with each other. Shawn suggests Mimi move all her stuff from her room into his……and that they can use her room for something else……like a game room. Belle calls, asking Mimi to bring a change of clothes for her and Philip to the hospital. Mimi says they will be right over.
KATE is murmuring to herself that Shawn must be Claire’s father, and how could Belle do this to Philip, just as he comes up, just hearing the last part, and saying I don’t need this right now. Philip defends Belle, saying Claire being ill is not Belle’s fault. They argue, & he mentions Shawn & Mimi babysitting, which causes Kate to go off on how dirty a mechanic gets, practically accusing Shawn of causing Claire to get sick. Philip defends both Shawn & Mimi. Later, they are talking again, & Philip mentions how Belle & Shawn never slept together, & their vow of purity. Of course, Kate’s ears perk up at that, as Philip admits that he was the lst man Belle was ever with. Kate is taken aback, but covers by saying that it is refreshing to learn a young girl would stay a virgin, and would want to wait until her wedding night. Philip leaves. Kate realizes that Shawn could not be Claire’s father…unless Belle lied to Philip. She walks away, and of course, straight to the computer room, (where no one sees her going in, door is unlocked, so much for anyone’s records being confidential). She now looks up Shawn’s records, commenting they must have typed his blood when he had his motorcycle accident. As they come up, she says, Oh, my God, it can’t be. Philip doesn’t have the right blood type to be Claire’s father, but Shawn does, so Belle lied, and Shawn IS the baby’s father.
BELLE WALKS IN ON HER PARENTS, hearing Marlena & John talk about their breakup. She lays into them both, saying she just cannot deal with one more thing. Marlena talks to her alone, telling her about being married to Dr. North before she ever came to Salem. She explains about her hysterical amnesia, and tells Belle that she was never divorced therefore, her marriage to John was never legal. (Please tell me why they keep talking about Roman & John as husbands, but never once mention Don Craig! He was Marlena’s very first husband in Salem, and they did have a child together, tho the child died of SIDS) Marlena tries to compare her and Alex/John to Belle with Shawn/Philip. Belle says there is nothing similar in the situation, but Marlena reminds her that during her labor she called out Shawn’s name, not Philip’s. Belle assures her she loves Philip, more every day. Belle is very angry, and leaves. She goes to the nurse’s station, demanding to know what is going on, that tons of tests have been done, etc. She talks to Philip, both deciding to stay the night, and she calls Mimi (see above), wanting her to bring Claire’s stuffed bunny, too. When Shawn & Mimi arrive, Belle goes for coffee, with Shawn going with her, while Philip talks to Mimi. She admits to Philip how “close” she & Shawn got after they went home from the dinner party at Philip’s, in fact they got very close. Philip is happy to hear that, looking over at Shawn who is comforting an upset Belle. Kate watches, saying Oh, No.
Meanwhile, Alex has called the airport, wanting a one way ticket to anywhere, just out of Salem, as soon as the ice storm is over, and the planes can once again take off. John is relieved, as he overhears the phone conversation. But Alex goes to say good-bye to Marlena, telling her he respects her choice, how much he loves her, etc. etc. Marlena tells him not to go, she wants him to stay, as she has chosen him. They hug, as he talks of how, now, the plans they made for their future can come true. ( Sure, 30 years ago, huh? Anyone else wonder about that child Alex said they had, that is now "gone"? Days sure ignores many things, doesn't it?). John listens, and with a tear running down his cheek, says something to the effect….not if I can help it.
AT THE DEVERAUX HOME, Abby rushes to the door, to find Chelsea. She is getting hysterical about her father not being home, and if something happened to him, and how she did not get a chance to say good-bye. Chelsea tries to reassure her. Jennifer is pestering Frankie for the truth, to tell her if he knows anything, but he just says he looked all over and could not find Jack. Jennifer babbles, truly babbles, about how crazy and impulsive Jack is, how he is just out hunting flowers, and trying to find something else to make her happy, looking for something romantic, etc. She talks everyone into putting up the decorations for the party tomorrow, being very upbeat.
Meanwhile, under the water, Bo is unable to get his foot loose, and eventually loses his oxygen. Up on the bridge Hope is getting very nervous, as is Billie. Patrick suits up, and goes down to find Bo. He does, and shares his oxygen with Bo, bringing him to, and then together they free Bo’s foot. Bo insists on doing something before he goes up. They finally surface, much to Hope’s relief, with Patrick saying Bo nearly killed them both. Bo says he spotted Jack’s license plate, and had to retrieve it. He claims the current is too strong to try and get to the car, and even if Jack got out, the current would have swept him away.
Back at Jen’s, the decorations are nearly all up, they hear a car, and Jen rushes to the door. There stand Bo, Hope, Billie, & Patrick, none of them saying a word. Jennifer babbles again, just talking so fast, and then asking why none of them are saying anything. All are inside the house now, looking very solemn. Hope goes to Jen, as Bo says, we have some bad news. Jennifer begins to cry, as Hope holds her, and Jen is saying, No, No, Please don’t tell me this, I don’t want to know. (very emotional scene). And the previews then show……
Jennifer, who is on the bridge looking down and crying: I don’t believe it, I believe he’s coming home Hope turns to Bo saying: she can’t accept what’s right in front of her. Bo: that Jack is gone.
Philip: I wish she looked like her mother Kate: That’s your daughter, no doubt about that
Sami: Your takeover scheme is going to go down. I guarantee it. Nicole: What the hell did you do this time?
Lucas: (as a shot of Carrie flashes first) Oh, my gosh, it’s you.

Episode # 10197; Tape Date: 10/27/05; Air Date: 11/29/05; Director: Albert AlarrWhile Jack's search party, Bo and Hope continue their search for Jack at the bridge, Jennifer and Abby worry at home; While Alex feels he's lost Marlena and plans to leave town, Marlena tells John she's decided to stay with Alex; Austin Reed and Co. plan their next move while Victor congratulates Lucas.
SAMI'S APARTMENT
Austin Reed and Co. are stressed after they found out they can't get out of the lease on Brandon's apartment. He suggests they might want to look for other jobs, but they refuse. Austin berates himself for blowing Business 101, not to extend yourself. Sami blames Nicole for it. Austin asks Nicole to leave him and Sami alone, then tells Sami she's out of line.
Victor pops over to Lucas' apartment to congratulate him on his victory. Nicole walks in, telling them they were patting themselves on the back so hard they couldn't hear her knock on the open door. She and Lucas exchange words about his method of getting the account back as Victor listens, but approves of how Lucas did it, saying it's business. They give her a glass of champagne to help them toast their victory and she throws it at Lucas and storms out, promising to help Austin put them in their place. Lucas fills Victor in on another company he's got his eye on (High Style). Victor's pleased with the prospectus and Lucas promises to work up a deal by morning. Victor warns Lucas that Sami is his Achille's heel and even if they don't reunite, they're bonded by Will for life. Can Lucas separate his feelings for Sami with business needs? He reminds Victor about how he was married to his mother and in the same position. That's different Victor says. (ironic how they were BOTH married to Nicole and that's not mentioned, LOL)
Nicole's eavesdropping outside and mutters she had been eyeing High Style too and has to work fast to prove to Austin she can do the job. She returns to their apartment hearing
Sami continue to belittle her to Austin until Nicole walks in..saying she has exactly what they need to get back in the game. She fills them in on how Titan is going after High Style too and if they offer them cash (WHAT cash?) they can probably land the account. Sami warns Austin not to listen to Nicole again. He tells Nicole to work up a proposal while he tries to renegotiate their loan.
AT THE HOSPITAL

Philip comforts Belle as she tells him how much she loves her daughter and hates herself for ignoring Claire. Philip suggests they go to the chapel to pray, but Belle refuses to leave her daughter again. He agrees, saying God will hear their prayers whereever they are and she hugs him. Later we find them bending over Claire's hospital bed, glad she's sleeping so soundly. Belle thanks Philip for being so wonderful. She steps out to go tell her mom about what's going on.
Kate walks up and sees them talking and to herself, comments how the hospital records prove there's no way that Philip is Claire's father..and he has no idea.
Alex walks up asking if she's heard the bad news. Kate is so happy Philip and Belle are together and Alex is happy to see a couple together that deserves to be, thinking he's lost Marlena to John. He steps away to make a one way airline reservation out of Salem for himself. Kate's more worried about Claire's paternity than what John may need from her. She does the Salem Mumble about how Shawn might be Claire's father as Philip walks up and calls out to her.
Marlena tells John that although she has memories of him, she has deeper memories of Alex and will stay with Alex, her first love. John's not happy, obviously, and tries to rein in his anger to try and explain how she would be turning her back on all their children as well if she doesn't stay with him. John says the Marlena he knows would never turn her back on her family.
She resents the implication and isn't turning her back on her children. She has deep feelings for Alex and only wants time alone with him to let them grow. It's her decision whether John likes it or not! She remembers seeing him and Kate on the couch with her telescope when she tells him she doesn't think they belong together. John asks her to take more time to make her decision. They both grow more agitated as she insists they're done. Belle walks up and hears that, crying out no, tell her this isn't happening.AT THE DEVERAUXS
Jennifer and Abby pace by the front door awaiting news of Jack. Billie, Patrick and Frankie are all out looking for him. Abby suggests Jen call the hospital. She does and a busy nurse looks up his name in the computer and reports he hasn't been treated there tonight. Abby shows Jen her present for Jack. She ordered it from a catalog and it came last week. It looks like a locket/watch case? and she opens it up to show her the picture of her and Jen in it (how about the baby?). Later the doorbell rings and Jennifer says that's Jack (does he ring the bell to his own house often?) She rushes to the door and it's Frankie, looking grim. Jennifer asks what he found out.
AT THE BRADY'SBo and Hope are excited about the website for Gran when they both get calls. Hope's from Frankie about the accident at the bridge and Bo gets the official heads up. They grab their coats and head out (Zack at the pub?)
AT THE BRIDGE
Small town as Billie, Patrick and Frankie gather at the bridge. Frankie speculates it could be Jack's car that went off the bridge and he could be dead. Bo and Hope arrive and Frankie tells Bo that the car paint on the missing bridge panel matches the color of Jack's car. Bo refuses Patrick's help, saying professionals will take over. Frankie worries that it wasn't an “accident” and Billie is sure she convinced Jack not to commit suicide. Patrick joins Hope as she remembers when Jennifer's car went off the bridge. Jack saved her, but her son was in the back seat at the time. She tells him how Stefano switched Zack and JT at birth and how JT was thrown from the car. She breaks down saying giving up JT was the hardest thing she's ever had to do. Bo and an officer join them and report a traffic camera saw a car skid
ding near the scene and plates were Jack's. Bo orders divers down to investigate. They all suggest Frankie go back to the house to be with Jennifer. She'll need him if they find it's Jack. They learn the divers are at a lake where a couple skaters fell in and won't be available for a while. Bo decides to suit up and go in himself.Later Bo's suited up (looking mighty fine in it too, wink wink) as Hope worries about him. Patrick offers to help again and although Bo's reluctant to let him, Hope assures him that Patrick is trustworthy and he asks Patrick to monitor his equipment. Patrick sees Billie nervous and asks if she still loves Bo. She tells him it's not what he thinks...she knows he loves Hope. They just found their daughter though and building a relationship with her. Hope prays that Bo finds Jack and that they both come back alive. Later the three stand vigil over where Bo is diving and have bad vibes about the situation. We see Bo examining the wreckage and his foot is stuck. He struggles to get it loose as the previews roll....
Kate: “which means that Belle lied. Shawn must be the baby's father.”
Shawn and Mimi are cuddled up in bed.
Mimi: “You're the only one I want to be with.”
Shawn: “You're the only one I want to be with.”
Marlena to Alex: “I don't want a divorce. I don't want you to go.”
Hope and Billie worry about the icy water below and if either Jack or Bo will survive it...as we see Bo apparently unconscious ...and the credits roll...

Summary: Shawn and Mimi discuss what happened…Kate makes a startling discovery…Marlena makes her choice…Alex plans to leave town…Jen, Frankie and Abby become more and more concerned for Jack (as he fights for life).
At the Loft…Shawn and Mimi are still in bed as she asks if he is ready for more. He goes to get water as she picks up a magazine and picture of him and Belle falls out. She stares at it as he returns and tries to explain. He says that he knows there is no future for him and Belle. But Mimi isn’t so sure and tells him she has a confession. She tells him about visiting with Belle and telling her about their date and Belle’s reaction. She says even though Belle gave her blessing, she still isn’t so sure that Belle was being honest and that she still has feelings for Shawn. She asks him point-blank if he is still in love with Belle too. He tells her that a part of him will always love Belle but both of them are ready to move on. She apologizes for being so blunt and babbles on and on about how she has always had a crush on him. She continues until she embarrasses herself and explains she is just afraid of getting hurt again. He stops her and tells her he was ready to answer her first question. He says he has something to tell her and she says if he is going to say he loves her, then don’t. She says she hopes he tells her that he loves her…someday…just not tonight. Shawn is confused and Mimi tells him to let her explain, but he laughs and tells her not to as he stops her and kisses her.
At the Hospital…Lexie explains to Philip and Belle that Claire is doing better…she is on oxygen and her temperature has dropped. They are waiting for test results and they also did a spinal tap, this news upsetting Belle. She promises to keep them informed as they prepare to go into see her. Lexie and John talk as he is worried about Marlena. Lexie apologizes for ever recommending Alex as John gives her the condensed version of what is going on with Alex, shocking her. He tells her that Marlena wants a future with Alex…but he is not going to give up on her.Meanwhile, Kate wonders if what she found out is true. Philip and Belle walk up as she shoves the papers in her purse. They give her an update on Claire and Kate assures them that she will be okay, telling Belle that worrying about your children is a part of motherhood. Belle goes on in to see the baby as Philip tells Kate how much they love Claire and how he loves Belle and don’t know what he would do without them and then leaves. John joins Kate and they talk about how Philip and Belle need each other right now. He moans about how he and Marlena are not together and how they should be for the kids. Kate excuses herself and goes to an empty office and prays that she is wrong…she says if this is true, it will destroy them. She sits down at a computer (the user didn’t log off) and types in some data. Then she says Oh God…Oh God no. Later she is looking for a doctor and talks to a med student in the hallway and starts asking him questions about blood types. She doesn’t really understand his explanation (lol, neither do I) so she just asks him if the father is an O positive and the mother is an A negative, could the child be AB negative. He asks her why she wants to know and she lies, saying she has a bet with a friend. He says the scenario she described is impossible as she becomes very upset. After he leaves, she says “so Belle’s baby isn’t Philip’s.”
Marlena tells Alex that she has made her decision and is sorry that someone will be hurt. He encourages her to go tell John. She goes over and tells him that she has something to tell him as he fears the worst. Meanwhile, Lexie and Alex talk and he apologizes to her for blackmailing her about Tek. She is angry with him but he says he had to stop her from digging into his past, he was only trying to protect Marlena. He tells her that most of Marlena’s past is still lost and he now fears that he has lost her. An angry Lexie tells him he has not lost her…he never had her in the first place. But he goes on to explain his and Marlena’s history but Lexie says she doesn’t believe him. He tells her that he never came forward before because he didn’t want to disrupt her life, but Lexie is the one who brought him there and he felt the time was right. Alex says he knows that Lexie was suspicious of his methods but he had to use every tool he had…and he thought it was working, but he now feels that she has chosen John. He says he will be leaving Salem soon. She asks if he is giving up and he says he must respect Marlena’s decision. But before he leaves, he wants to offer Lexie some advice…she needs to resolve her feelings concerning Abe and Tek. Lexie says she made a mistake…she loves her husband and there is no question who she wants to be with. Alex says that he loves Marlena, but sometimes things just don’t work out the way you want. He apologizes again and tells her that he was blinded by his love and concern for Marlena.
Marlena tells John that she has made a decision but before she can tell him, Philip and Belle return. Belle is upset and Marlena tries to offer her comfort, telling her that being there for Claire is the best thing she can do for her now. Belle and Philip go into see Clair and talk to her by her side, saying how much they love her and will always be there for her. After they are gone, John asks Marlena what her choice is and she tells him that she has chosen to be with Alex. John is shocked but she says he is her husband. John becomes angry and says that they belong together and pleads with her to reconsider. He says if she walks away, she may as well rip out his heart and take her soul with her. He begs her to reconsider as she tears up. She says she is sorry but she can’t be with him, she has to choose the person she first pledged to spend her life with and that is Alex.
At the Deveraux Place…Jen and Frankie worry about Jack as she blames herself for his going out. Frankie tries to assure her that Jack will be okay. Someone is at the door and Jen rushes over, thinking it is Jack, but it is Abby. Jen is upset to learn that Chelsea drove her home, but Abby says the roads are better now. Abby is upset to learn that her dad went out during the storm. Frankie tells her that Jack called and was on his way home and he is sure he will be there shortly. Jen tries to change the mood and suggests they decorate for the party. Abby wants her mom to call Jack, but she explains the cell service is bad. As they ponder what to do, Frankie volunteers to go and look for him…against Jen’s better judgement. He goes anyway and after he is gone, she is worrying because now she can’t reach him either. Meanwhile, we see Jack in the car several times as the water is rising. He comes to and is sure that God is punishing him for attempting suicide. The water continues to rise as does his panic level. Frankie arrives at the bridge and sees that a car has gone over the edge. When Jack is almost underwater, he prays to make it…just to be with his family…as he has a fantasy of spending Thanksgiving with them. Then we see him pass out and slide underwater…as the previews show…Bo: Let’s get the wet suits out…I’m going in (as Hope looks on)…
Jennifer (frantic): Frankie…WHERE is he?
Sami (to Austin): Getting involved with Nicole could be disaster. (Nicole): You’re wrong Sami…I have just what we need to get back into the game…
Marlena (to John): You and I are done (as Belle walks up)…Belle: NO…tell me this isn’t happening…
And the credits roll…

Episode # 10195Tape Date: 10/21/05
Air Date: 11/25/05
Director: Herb Stein
Summary: With the ice storm a backdrop, several couples (Mickey and Maggie, Doug and Julie, Bo and Hope) reminisce of the past. Okay, for a 40th Anniversary show…this was somewhat disappointing for me. I was expecting a show filled with memorable flashbacks with lots of warm fuzzies…but instead, it is the current storylines, sprinkled with a few short clips thrown in here and there. Quite a letdown for a show with such a rich history to draw upon. (But then, that’s just my opinion.)
At the Loft…Mimi and Shawn are in bed making out and he asks her if she is sure and she says yes. They make love to “You and Me (and All of the People)” by Lifehouse. Afterwards, Mimi is a bit giddy, saying it’s weird and talks about how she always had a crush on him and how she begged him to take her to the Last Blast. He admits that he had a bit of a crush on her as well. But she knew he was in love with Belle. He calls her beautiful and reminds her he kissed her BEFORE he kissed Belle (insert flashback of them kissing in Paris). She asks him if he could trade places with Philip, would he? He says he wouldn’t change places with anyone right now…he is enjoying where he is and who he is with.
At the Deveraux Place…Jennifer is worried about Jack, she can’t reach him on his cell phone. She calls Mickey and Maggie, but they haven’t seen him either, but Maggie assures her he will be fine. Frankie tries to calm her down with a little Salem Tea. He tries to get her to talk about something else, so she tells him about the family tree website they are putting together. She pulls out a photo of them and talks about what a big part of her life he has been. )Insert flashbacks of them younger with him undressing her and them kissing.) She then takes out a picture of her and Jack and we get flashbacks of them arguing at the paper…saying it was NOT love at first sight. She says she had no idea she would ever fall in love with him, then we get flashbacks of her seducing him and him resisting. She talks about how he could make her happy and angry at the same time and we get short flashbacks of both of their weddings. She says she doesn’t know what she will do without him and cries on Frankie’s shoulder. Later, she is trying to call him again, begging him to pick up…as we see flowers under water. In their car…Doug and Julie are on their way to Mickey and Maggie’s house and get caught in the ice storm. Doug thinks they should turn around and go back home, the weather is too bad. The road is closed ahead and a cop informs them that they are de-icing the road for them to just sit tight. Doug thinks it is kind of romantic and he turns on the radio and the song “Till There was You” is playing and we get a flashback of him singing it at their wedding. It goes off and then “When a Man Loves a Woman” comes on. Julie laughs and says this must be Horton Radio…she told Lucas to sing that to Sami when he proposed. They talk about Sami and Lucas and Julie is sure that they belong together, despite all their troubles. We get flashbacks of them first meeting as well as Austin and Carrie’s wedding (when Sami fainted). Julie says poor Sami…she messes up every good thing in her life. For all of their arguing…sometimes Lucas and Sami remind her of her and Doug. Doug says but THEY are together…Sami and Lucas should be so lucky. Later they learn the road is open, but Julie is happy just resting against him. She asks if they are going home or to Mickey’s. Doug says he has a more important question…are they going to include Marlena and John in Alice’s website. (Why would they?...neither of them are relatives of Alice, so why would they be on her family tree?) Julie says that even though Marlena can’t remember her past…they can’t forget HER. Doug agrees…she is UNFORGETTABLE. Then we get a flashback of John and Marlena kissing. Julie says what a love story…it’s a love that will not die (then we get a brief flashback of the pier reunion). They agree that they belong together. But Julie says now there is another woman after John. Doug nods and says “Dear Kate”…
Cut to the hospital…as Kate asks John how his back is. He says fine, but it is his heart that needs help. He goes to check on the baby as she snoops through medical folders and sees something shocking, saying “Oh my GOD…this can’t be true”. She copies the papers, saying she must protect her family any way she can. Marlena worries about Claire as well as Belle as Alex tries to take her home, but she refuses to leave. She tells him that she now knows who she wants to spend her life with. Lexie tells Philip and Belle she wishes she had better news as Belle cries and asks if Claire is going to die, as Philip holds her.At Mickey and Maggie’s…she hopes that Doug and Julie decided to stay home. After Jen calls looking for Jack, Mickey is sure that he is okay, probably just the weather. He is sure that if he can…he WILL get to Jen as soon as possible. He talks about how Tom and Jack didn’t see eye to eye, but he KNEW that Jack loved her and that was enough. Flashback here of Tom and Jack talking about Jen. Maggie agrees, but talks about how Alice was CRAZY over Jack. She talks about how Alice always gave her wise advice…even recently…concerning their marriage. They talk about all the storms they have weathered and sure there are more ahead and just hope they last like Tom and Alice. (Insert flashback of Tom and Alice at Christmas). Maggie says there was NEVER a more loving couple. She takes out her photo album and hourglass (doesn’t everyone have one of those sitting around?, LOL) They look at pictures as we get a montage of the ornament hangings through the years with Tom’s voice over explaining why they do this. Maggie weeps as Mickey holds her. Later, Doug and Julie finally arrive safely. Julie and Maggie sit down with boxes of photos as Maggie says there is 40 years worth. Julie hopes that this won’t depress or upset Alice…after all, it is 40 years GONE. Maggie assures her that the years are not gone…and NOT forgotten…each moment is in all of their hearts as they look at a photo of Tom and Alice…and cut to the hourglass.
At the Brady House…Hope is on the sofa with the laptop working on her Christmas project for Alice when Bo comes in. (He had been out looking for Chelsea and informs her that she and Abby are at Bonnie’s). She is a little po’d because he missed Zack’s Thanksgiving play. He forgot and feels bad and says it is tough being dad to 3 kids. Hope just wants him to be there for their boys too. Bo talks about Shawn’s birth as well as Zack’s (as we get brief flashbacks of each). He asks about her project as she gives him an update on http://www.alicesfamilytree.com/. She just hopes that Gran will like it. She shows him pictures that she has scanned and there are flashbacks of them on the Fancy Face(s). They look at a picture of Shawn and Belle from the Last Blast and talk about how they thought they would end up together. Hope is sure that Belle married the wrong guy and Bo agrees. But Bo says if Mimi makes him happy, that is all that is important. She talks about how they learn from their mistakes as Bo chuckles, remembering how THEY didn’t. Flashback here of Bo and Hope in bed (when they were younger), and Doug interrupting. Bo laughs, saying he is glad Doug didn’t have a weapon that night, OR he would have lost something important. There are flashbacks of their weddings as Hope says that both Doug and Tom knew that Bo was the only man she could love and they kiss. Bo says that Ms. H is going to love this gift. He says she forgot to include there vows…cue another flashback of their wedding (with the silver link vows) and back to them kissing as the storm rages on outside. The last segment of the show is Kristian Alfonso (out of character) addressing viewers, saying “I am Kristian Alfonso…on behalf of all of us here in Salem, in front of the cameras and behind the scenes, we are happy you could be here with us today to share some of the magical memories of the first 40 years of Days of Our Lives….” She then invites everyone to log on to the website http://www.alicesfamilytree.com/ for more…as the previews show…
Marlena (to John): I have something to tell you that is very important…(John): Is it good news or not?...
Kate: Please God…let me be wrong…because if it’s true…it will destroy them…
Shawn (to Mimi): There is something I want to say. (Mimi): If you are going to tell me you love me…don’t…
Jen (to Abby): Now I can’t reach Frankie either…
Frankie (on the bridge): Someone went off the bridge…(and as he looks over the edge): Oh GOD no!!...
And the credits roll…

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2005
Days of Our Lives will not be seen on Thursday, Nov. 24th, so there will be no Early Edition on Wednesday, November 23rd. Days will be seen again on Friday, Nov. 25th, when the show will be celebrating their 40th anniversary. So the Early Edition should appear next on Thanksgiving.Episode #10,194
Tape date 10/20
Director Albert Alarr
This episode proves once again why we should all be thankful we do not live in Salem, as for the 3rd year in a row, gloom, despair and misery descend on it’s residents on a holiday. Claire is rushed to the hospital, Marlena is convinced she sees John & Kate having sex, while Jack’s good intentions end in tragedy. It is too sad that Days continues for the 3rd year in a row, to make Thanksgiving a day the Salem residents have no reason to celebrate.
SHAWN & MIMI are hot & heavy on his bed. He decided to set up a mood, and lights some candles around the room. They talk a bit, then his mom calls, inviting him to Jack & Jennifer’s tomorrow. He agrees to come and bring Mimi. As he & Mimi begin to kiss, his computer beeps that an IM message is coming in. Ah, tis Gran, worried that he might be out in the storm. He reassures her, but by the time he gets back to Mimi, they agree the mood has been broken. Shawn remembers something he bought Mimi, and goes into the other room, bringing back some flowers. She is touched. He puts on some slow music, very romantic, and she puts a very open weave, dark blue scarf over the lamp, (uh, oh, Mimi, that is not smart) wanting muted light so she could still see him. They begin kissing again, but her shirt gets stuck in his zipper or something like that
KATE CONTINUES TO GIVE JOHN the very weird back massage, for which he is thankful. Being she is straddling him, it looks very much like something else to Marlena who is looking through her spyglass. She is puzzled by what she sees, being as John has repeatedly told her how much he loves her, etc. Alex makes excuses, saying John probably realizes Marlena belongs with Alex, etc. etc. Meanwhile, John is greatful, as Kate has helped him, but she is getting turned on. He isn’t, and makes it clear he will not go there.
Meanwhile, Belle & Philip are making out on the sofa, when Claire begins to cry. Belle goes to check, calls Philip over, as Claire is burning up. They will take her to the hospital, so Philip calls his mom, asking her to alert Lexie. Belle calls Marlena, who says she will be right there. Alex offers to drive Marlena, inasmuch as the roads are so bad. Belle & Philip rush into the hospital, Lexie is waiting, and Claire is taken to the infamous, Cubicle #1 (wonder if there is another cubicle? Lol) Marlena, Alex, then John & Kate all arrive (hmmm, no one calls Victor???) Belle cries to her mom, who offers her shoulder, and words of comfort. Lexie comes out, with the news the baby is very ill, they are giving her a sponge bath to try and bring down her fever. Everyone worries, and Belle is very upset. Lexie leaves, and little conversations go on between everyone. Lexie returns, saying that Claire has an infection, but they have not determined what kind (you know, one of those unnamed Salem things that are, at times, life threatening, like Jack’s.) She says they are giving her broad spectrum anti-biotics via intravenous, in order to “flush out her system”. She leaves, Belle breaks down, Philip tries to comfort her. John & Kate talk about their kids, and how good Philip is for Belle. He hugs Kate as Marlena watches. Belle is crying, and tells a shocked Philip that if anything happens to Claire, their life together is over. She quickly apologizes, saying she did not mean that. Alex decides to go see if he can find anything out, and Kate says she is going for coffee, leaving John & Marlena alone. They talk, but Marlena remembers seeing Kate & John thru her spyglass. She questions him about always telling the truth, and he says yes he does. She asks about loving her, etc. and he says yes. She asks about loving Kate. He replies, yes, but only as a friend. She asks if there is anything else. He says, no…and she says, I guess that is it.
JENNIFER IS RUMMAGING through a cupboard, getting out silver trays, etc. for the big dinner. She is happy to be having the big Thanksgiving dinner at their home, (which he calls his last supper, and gets scolded by Jen) He tells her “I love you, Miss Horton, always have, always will, ALWAYS”, as they embrace. Jack is worried it might be too much for her, but she assures him it isn’t as she is doing the turkey, Aunt Maggie is bringing all the side dishes from the restaurant, Doug & Julie are bringing the decorations and place cards, while Gran is bringing all the pies. Jacks asks, Apple, pumpkin? And Jen assures him yes, plus sweet potato pie just for him, and pecan for Abbie. She bemoans being unable to find the cornucopia, but, no matter, since she doesn’t have the vegetables for it, or the flowers as usually the florist took care of that, and she forgot to call him, and is now too late. She does so want everything to be just perfect. She goes to check on the baby, and Jack worries he is not able to help in some way. He gets a bright idea, makes a phone call, and when Jennifer returns, Jack is gone. She looks around, then outside, realizing the car is gone, and cannot imagine where Jack could have gone in this bad storm.
We see Jack in the car, on his way to get flowers for Jennifer, determined Jennifer should have everything perfect. The car skids a bit, and we can see the weather is terrible. Meanwhile, Jen has found a cornucopia in the attic, and as she smiles, she remembers another Thankgiving, with it on the table, Jack teasing her about all the veggies, etc. (Wow, am glad Salemites have had some nice Thanksgivings in the past, it seems) The phone rings, it is Jack. He says he is in Ogden, got the flowers and vegetables for the big dinner, but the cornucopia is proving a bit difficult. Jen assures him she has found one, and urges him to just come home. Music on radio has Jack asking her if she hears it….their song….and we flash back to them dancing at their wedding to this song. (Lyrics begin, “You can say you love me”). They both say how much they love each other.
Eventually, Mimi manages to get the zipper and shirt apart, they kiss, smell something burning, and realize it is the scarf over the lamp (stupid thing to have done). Shawn stomps it out, and both agree this was just not meant to be tonight. They agree to to sleep in their respective rooms, but at the doorway, they once again begin to kiss, and fall onto Shawn’s bed, hot and heavy again.
Meddlesome Kate gets impatient, walks over to the nurses’ station, begins pawing thru the folders, but picks up a blue on on the counter. She opens it, saying, no, no, that can’t be. John pulls the Belle card to Marlena, telling her that it would probably help Belle now if she knew her parents were back together.
Philip comforts Belle. Lexie comes out, (and as usual, the voice of doom) saying to the worried group, “I wish I had better news” .
As Jen worries at home, Jack is driving the icy road, telling himself he feels like Ichobod Crane (from the story “The Headless Horseman”), and once he gets across the bridge, he’ll be all right. Suddenly, the car skids wildly, Jack tries to correct the skid, and we hear him screaming as the car crashes through the bridge.
And the previews show..
Hope: I”ll always believe in my heart of hearts that she married the wrong guy.
Bo: Me, too.
Belle: She’s gonna die, isn’t she? Mimi to Shawn(Apparently this is part of their “afterglow”: If you could trade places with Philip right now, would you?
Jennifer, in tears: How do I go on without Jack? Frankie holds her.
Marlena to Alex: I know who I want to spend the rest of my life with.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Tuesday, November 22, 2005
Sami's evening goes from bad to worse as she learns about Titan's getting the Clear Visage account; Marlena has a panic attack memory; Kate continues to help John both mentally and physically. Today's lesson: If you don't want to be seen at night, no matter what floor you're on, CLOSE YOUR CURTAINS!! Tomorrow looks like a busy one!!AT THE LOFTS....they continue where I left off on Thursday....Philip opening the door to finding Shawn and Mimi kissing. Belle steps aside and tells herself that Shawn's not hers any more. Shawn thanks them for the invitation as they didn't want to go out in the storm and saved them another night of burnt tv dinners. Belle and Philip go to get things ready as Mimi tells Shawn that earlier Belle gave her blessings to their relationship. Ten feet away Philip stops Belle from tossing the salad to “talk” to him. She is angry because he didn't tell her about his leg pain. He apologizes, kiss, kiss, love ya, back to dinner. He spots Shawn and Mimi laughing next to each other on the couch and calls them to dinner. First he finds the picture of Belle and Shawn in the garbage and asks what it's doing there. (well, DUH Philip..you want it out? LOL) She says it fell in there by mistake. She looks at it and it morphs into a picture of her and Shawn while she's holding their baby. She puts it into a grocery bag and onto the floor. After they've had their dinner, Belle gets up to check on Claire and Shawn says they should get going as he has a hard time getting out of bed in the morning. Mimi offers to help with the dishes, but Philip said they've got it covered. Mimi and Shawn kiss their way across the hall and practically fall into their own loft. Philip walks up behind a morose Belle and starts kissing her neck. Across the hall, Shawn picks up Mimi and carries her to his bed.
SAMI returns home from the market with with bags of supplies to make home made soup for Will (he's sick) (if that's all soup supplies, she should make enough for an army). Austin was concerned where she was due to the storm outside, but Nicole's only annoyed by the interruption Sami's caused. She suggests Sami make the soup at Lucas' apt. and Austin only agrees so that she can be closer to Will. Sami, who's struggling with her bags, rants about this being her apartment and SHE was the one who got the account..but heads for the door. Austin opens and closes it for her and tells Nicole she's out of line when she calls Sami a dramatic little bitch. Nicole tells Austin that Scrappy Do will never pull off what she did tonight (getting the account) again. Austin isn't so sure about that and knows there's a side to Sami others don't see. That's what he loves about her. We return to Nicole telling Austin that if Sami loves Lucas and vice versa, she wishes them happiness. Austin asks if she means that and she says she does. They both admit wanting that type of love and he says he wants lots of kids. Nicole breaks down and he insists on knowing what's bothering her. She tells him she can't have kids. She tells him how a hit man was hired to kill Victor and she got hit instead. Because of that she can't have kids. She had a crappy childhood and thought she'd make such a great mom (oh yeah, right). She would only adopt if she had a partner, someone like him, to help her.Sami drops the bags in the hallway and Lucas steps out of his apartment and asks if she needs some help. He wonders why she went out in the storm and she tells him to get the ingredients for Grandma Caroline's chicken soup. They start bickering about Clear Visage and he gets info from her that Austin got loans due to the new account (that was quick!) Lucas smirks that papers haven't even been signed to finalize the deal and what would happen if it didn't go through? Inside his apartment she tells him about having problems with Nicole and how Austin leased Brandon's old loft for their office space. Lucas sounds a little worried, saying he thinks she's falling for Austin again. She denies anything romantic going on with her and Austin, they just work together. Lucas refuses to believe that and accuses her of doing whatever it took to get Austin back in town, including a wedding. She reminds him she found him with another woman. They argue about who gave up on the other first and he goes to bed (don't even see Will). She can't find her recipe for the soup and goes to his computer to look for another one. She finds Sophie's email telling Lucas that she's glad they talked Lulu into getting Hans to change his mind about signing with Austin. Lucas walks back in and Sami asks how he could do that to them! She rushes across the hall to tell Austin (with Lucas in her wake as she of course doesn't shut the door). Austin goes to the desk and looks at some papers saying they're ruined. Nicole tells Lucas he's a dead man.

AT KATE'S SUITE...apparently they tried to go to bed earlier than the rest of Salem above as they rendevous in the living room for a drink. Her in robe, him too, except wearing his jeans. He wonders if Alex has talked his way into Marlena's bed and picks up his binoculars to see (ISA repossess his super duper telescope and bugs?). Kate stops him, saying it would be a big mistake. She reminds him that Alex IS Marlena's husband. Kate reminds John he himself researched the validity of the marriage certicate and found it legit (okay, now have him research the other details Alex mentioned). She mentionsher own painful moments and she says it wasn't from Roman, but because of losing him. John feels bad and says he'll always care a great deal for her. She compares their relationship to Marlena's, knowing John will be hurt. John struggles to put on his socks to go over to the penthouse and grimaces in pain. He can't walk and doesn't want her calling Lexie. She offers to massage where it hurts and helps him lie down on the couch (on his back). She asks where it hurts and he says everywhere. She kneels ON TOP OF HIS MID SECTION as she massages his shoulder (hello...the man's in pain already, I wouldn't be kneeling on him, LOL!!) Instant relief as she massages his shoulder.
AT THE PENTHOUSE...Marlena and Alex chat. She wants to know more about their relationship. He tells her how he thought the sun rose and set around her from the first day he met her. Their engagement was the best day of his life, until their wedding day. (flashback scenes of them undressing each other that night) We return from the flashback with Marlena dreamy eyed, remembering. She could SEE how much in love they were, she just can “feel” it. He assures her it's normal to remember in bits and pieces. He figures she's feeling a little guilty because she can't remember her past with John. She agrees. He has a surprise for her to commemorate this ocassion. She flips through the scrapbook of pictures of her and John while he goes to fetch it. Alex returns with a box holding a pearl necklace inside. He asks to help her put it on and she agrees. While he's doing so, she remembers someone trying to strangle her while she's wearing them, the necklace breaks and pearls spill all over. Marlena has a major panic attempt to get away. She won't let him near her as he asks what's wrong with her. He begs her to let him help her, saying he's not the enemy. He walks her over to the couch as she grabs her neck, crying. She tells him about the hand putting pearls around her neck and then she couldn't breathe. Close to hysterics, she cries in his arms after he convinces her he's not the enemy, saying how scared she was. He realizes putting the pearls around her neck brought out something from her subconscious (gee, even I figured THAT out. Didn't he keep tabs on all that's happened to Marlena since they were apart? For example the Salem Stranger case?) After she's calmed down, he tells her the pearls belonged to someone in his family and agrees, she was very special...saying it was her. He gave them to her just before they got married. The window blows open just after she was going to try and put the pearls on again by herself. Alex closes it and takes his own trust telescope out. He sees the antenna on top of Titan about ready to blow over. He then looks towards Kate's room and clearly sees her (now just in gown, no robe) crouching over John as she massages his shoulders. He's moaning from it, but via telescope it looks like they're making love. Alex comments on something he saw, but says Marlena doesn't want to see it. Of course that sparks her curiousity, so she takes the telescope and he shows her where to look. Boing....she looks across town right into Kate's open curtains (amazing!!!) and sees what he did....as the screen splits to what she's seeing and her solemn reaction...as the previews roll....Belle to Philip: This is my worst nightmare and I don't understand how you can be so calm.”
Philip: “Because both of us can't fall apart.”
Belle: “If anything happens to our daughter, our life together is over.”
In the hospital waiting room as Marlena and Alex watch....
John to Kate: “we're not going to lose our granddaughter.”
Mimi and Shawn are in bed and she asks him “Do you smell something burning?”
We see Jack (driving?) and screaming. It looks like he's near a bridge (hard to tell)...
as the credits roll..

Episode # 10192Tape Date: 10/18/05
Air Date: 11/21/05
Director: Phil Sogard
Summary: Jacks plans go awry, thanks to Billie…Frankie and Jennifer reminisce…Sami catches Lucas red-handed…Nicole presses Austin to find out who his “mystery woman” is…Marlena decides she needs to spend time with Alex, much to John’s dismay.
At the Deveraux place…Jack lies “dead” on the floor as Billie uses CPR to try to revive him, crying for him to come back. He looks around as he is all dressed in white and says “I did it…I killed myself” and wonders if he is in Heaven. Suddenly, everything around him turns red. He hears Billie calling his name and looks up at her, asking if she is an angel. He tells her he thought he was in hell as an angry Billie tells him that she is going to make him regret what he tried. Later, we learn that Billie has given him serum of epicac (sp?) and made he throw up the pills as he bemoans his failure. She lectures him that suicide is wrong and begs him not to do this to his family. He doesn’t want to hear it, but she tries to persuade him that his family loves him and will cherish every minute with him and begs him to stop torturing himself.
Meanwhile…Jen and Frankie are out searching for Abby and Chelsea and get trapped in the ice storm. As they sit in the car, she tries to call home to Billie and Jack but her phone battery is dead. They decide to wait until someone comes along to help them. Frankie turns on the radio (must be the oldies station) and the song “Love, Look What You’ve Done to Me” (I think by Boz Scaggs…not sure, that is an old one). They laugh about how they danced and about old times. They talk about a teacher of theirs from high school (I think Ms. Collette?) and how she was a young widow (her husband was killed in the war) and how she lived such a lonely life because she never moved on. Jennifer wonders if that is what will happen to her and begins to cry. Frankie tells her that he saw Ms. Collette a few years ago in New York…she was on her honeymoon. It seems that she married the coach at school…and come to find out, he was her FIRST love…before she had married they had gone to their prom together. Jen has flashbacks of dancing (to “Stand by Me”) with Frankie at her prom. He tells her that their teacher did fall in love again…even if it took 30 years. But Jen says nothing would ever happen like that for her. As ice forms on their windshield, she tells Frankie that she has loved Jack for so long, she would never expect to find that kind of love again. But he assures her that she will be able to move on with her life. He tells her that Ms. Collette’s husband gave him a bit of advice when they talked…never give up. Jen asks him what he meant by that, but Frankie says he can’t remember (they must have been talking about Jen). Jen says that situation was different, but he was right about one thing…she will never give up on Jack…she prays for a miracle every day. A salt truck comes by and they decide to follow it and head home.Meanwhile back at the house, Jack has an attack and says he can’t take it and just wants to die, he doesn’t want his family to see him like this. As he struggles for breath, he begs Billie not to tell Jennifer what happened earlier. She finally gives in, but only for Jennifer’s sake, it would be too painful for her to find out. He has another attack and drops the pill bottle, just as Frankie and Jen come in. Jen rushes to Jack as Billie tries to hide the epicac and the pill bottle, but Frankie sees her. He pulls her aside and asks her what is going on and she tells him. They are both glad that she was there as they watch Jen cuddling Jack on the sofa.
At Lucas’s Apartment…Lucas and Sophie come in, planning on spending the night together (Will is staying with a friend). They congratulate each other on what happened earlier and talk about how Austin is going to react. They fall to the sofa kissing. Lucas is thanking her for her help as the clothes begin to fly.
Across the hall, Austin & Company is also celebrating. Nicole thinks they should start packing their things to move into the new place even though Sami still thinks it is a bad idea and that they are over-extending. But Austin is sure that they are on their way to success. Sami sees she is out-numbered so she wanders into the hall where she finds Will coughing and hacking. Nicole tells Austin of a company that is ripe for a takeover and they talk about securing a loan. Austin thinks it is going to be tough competing with Titan, but this first account is a great first step. He tells her that they are taking a huge risk, but she says that they have to take risks if they want to go for the gold ring. He corrects her, saying it is the BRASS ring…unless she is talking about a wedding band. In the hall, Will explains that he is sick and wanted to come home and sleep in his own bed as she feels his forehead and says he is burning up. He doesn’t want her to baby him, but he finally gives her the key and she opens the door and walks right in on Lucas and Sophie and squeals. Sami retreats quickly (keeping Will from seeing what was going on). Lucas charges out into the hall demanding to know what Sami is doing there, but she counters asking what was HE doing. Austin and Nicole hear the commotion and come over as well as Sami is raising hell at Lucas. Will tells them all that it’s okay as Sami opens the door and with her eyes closed, tells Sophie her son is sick and going to bed. Will goes in and they hear him say “Wow, Sophie…you are HOT!” almost giving Sami a heart attack. He yells back that he is just kidding, she isn’t even in the room. Nicole and Austin laugh it off and go back to work as Sami stays behind, saying she wants to make sure Will is okay. She instructs Lucas he should tell Sophie to get lost.Back in Sami’s apartment, Austin and Nicole go back to work as Austin talks about he has missed Will and how he has grown. Nicole starts about how Sami lied to Austin about Will being his son and she doesn’t understand how Austin can stand her. Austin chuckles about how Nicole is still trying to fish around and find out who the woman is that he came back to town for. She wants to know who it is NOW, but he avoids her questions. He does tell her that the woman is patient, not pushy and doesn’t put her agenda above others. Nicole snorts that leaves Sami out. But he will not tell her who it is. Nicole tells him that she wishes Sami and Lucas would make up and get back together and that they would be better off if Sami switched teams and worked for the enemy…then the future would be theirs. Then she clatters on about what success they would be and that SHE had better be the one he came back for as Austin just smiles.
Back in Lucas’s apartment, Sophie is now dressed and has decided to leave. After she is gone, Sami takes Will’s temperature and it’s 102, telling him he needs soup and to get to bed, even though he doesn’t want her babying him. She sends him to bed and give Lucas instructions. She picks up a folder and starts reading as Lucas tries to stop her. He takes it away, telling her it is none of her business. She swears she wasn’t snooping, but he tells her that wants her and everyone else to be surprised.
At the Penthouse…the ‘Marlena-Amnesia-Marathon’ continues. She wants John and Kate to leave so she can talk to Alex privately. John pulls Alex aside and lets him know that he doesn’t believe his story for a minute. Kate tells Marlena she needs to make a decision and not to keep the two man hanging on like this (WHY does she need to make a decision this very minute?) Marlena agrees with her. Alex tells John that he has wasted too many years to be with Marlena but John thinks this whole story is bull. Alex says it is no more far-fetched than anything else that has ever happened to Marlena (ain’t that the truth?!!) They bicker back and forth and John tells him that he will not succeed. Marlena asks Kate if she believes Alex’s story and she says he sounded convincing. Kate warns her that if she chooses Alex, John will be heartbroken, but Marlena thinks that if she ends up with Alex, John could find happiness with Kate. John tells them that because of the storm, he and Kate aren’t leaving. Alex tells John that he should accept that Marlena’s future is with HIM. But John warns Alex that if he finds out that all of this is a hoax, he is going to take that talisman and that special music and shove it all down his throat. (LOL, I was expecting another place myself) Alex tells him that there is no need for violence, he has shown them the proof and that Marlena will be true to her first love…HIM. John begs Marlena to reconsider before making the biggest mistake of her life. She says she needs to remember her past from the beginning…all of it to get her memory back. John says he will be there for her. Kate tells Alex if he is playing games with Marlena, God help him. But Alex swears he is trying to help her. He accuses Kate of not being honest herself…she wants to be with John. Marlena tells John that she needs to be honest with him…she doesn’t feel the deep love for him…but she remember she deep feeling of love she has for Alex. Freeze frame on Alex…as the previews show…Nicole (to Austin): If it were anyone but Sami… (Austin): There is a side of Sami that a lot of people don’t see…but it is what I love about her…
Sami: WHAT?...Lucas: You are falling for Austin again…
The next two previews are weird…and I don’t know what to make of them, but…
Marlena is freaking out and screaming (as if she just saw a snake or something) as Alex watches…
John is doubled over in pain and tells Kate not to touch him as Kate asks “what?”…
And the credits roll…

AT THE LOFTS….Mimi gets home and lights some candles for her and Shawn’s romantic evening together. She gets a taste of married life, LOL, as Shawn comes home and tells her about his busy day at the garage and when she leans forward for a kiss, doesn’t want to get her nice coat dirty and heads to the shower. She blows out a couple candles. Later she drinks some wine, toasting their romantic night as he peeks out through the door asking for a clean towel from the kitchen. She decides to deliver it herself. He pulls her into the shower saying it’s the best place to be on a cold night. She doesn’t know, but he says he does and pulls her in, clothes and all, and they start kissing. Turns out she’s just fantasizing that, but Shawn does open the door asking for a towel.Across the hall, Philip’s making Risoto (pasta dish Belle loved at Chez Rouge) for dinner and Belle laughs (nice to hear) and offers to help him. He gets a painful cramp in his leg. She learns it’s normal and he’s been having them on and off over the past weeks and not telling her. She feels bad and says he deserves so much more as they hug. He shows her a bottle of sparkling cider to have (mindful she can’t have alcohol) and wants some for himself instead of wine. She finds a picture of her and Shawn in the glass cupboard (real good hiding place, LOL!) as Philip pours the cider and toasts to them and their future. Later they laugh as he made too much and says the seafood will go bad if they can’t eat it all now. He suggests inviting Shawn and Mimi to dinner and she agrees. Across the hall, Mimi hands Shawn his towel and he heads back into the bathroom (alone). She goes into her room and he hears a knock on the door. With the towel wrapped around his lower half, he answers it and it’s Belle to invite them for dinner. Mimi comes out of her room with her glass of wine and Belle invites them. He thinks it’s a good idea with the ice storm approaching and she (not so agreeable) goes along with it. Alone she asks God to help her get through this. On their way across the hallway, Shawn apologizes to Mimi and promises to make it up to her. They kiss and accidentally ring the doorbell while kissing. Philip opens it and finds them kissing and gives Belle the thumbs up signal.
AT THE PENTHOUSE, Marlena tells John she’s still Alex’s wife and her marriages to Roman and him are invalid. John asks Alex why he didn’t return to Marlena after his special ops mission years ago. Alex repeats how she had moved on and why he focused on specializing in her type of problem. He admits using hypnosis and other methods simply to get her to retrieve her memory of them and sequenced properly so she can have her whole life back, not in bits and pieces over the years. He also wanted to make sure this information wouldn’t cause her more harm than good. John smirks saying he’s full of it. When John asks, Alex says he doesn’t know the DiMeras and only knows Lexie as she referred him to John per his request for help. All he does know is his love for Marlena and feels deep down in her subconscious she does know it. Marlena tears up as Alex takes her hand and reminds her about her earlier flashes of her earlier life with all three of them. She says it was confusing. He warns her the time is coming where she’ll have to decide which of them she will want to stay with. Marlena asks John for some time alone with Alex. He’s not crazy about the idea, but she insists. Kate takes John out on the terrace. John holds Kate’s shoulders, saying Alex has manipulated Marlena and filled her head with lies. Kate is more realistic and warns John it may be true. She stops him from going in, saying he might do more damage than good to his own cause.
Marlena admits her doubts to Alex and he knows something that will help convince her..as he leans down and kisses her. She likes it and catches herself as she leans in for more…then panics a little. He embraces her and says he’s her husband and there for her. He knows that’s why she returned the kiss with such passion. She admits how natural it did feel. He begs for her to give him the chance to prove he’s the only man she’s ever loved. Marlena asks to speak with John alone when he and Kate return. Privately Kate asks Alex if that was the truth and he says yes. She feels for him, saying he waited too long to come back as those in between years may hurt him. He suggests John might be available for her. Marlena tells John she wants him to leave as she owes Alex the chance to help her and when asks why she owes Alex anything, she says that he’s her husband.
AT THE DEVERAUX’S….Billie finds Frankie outside wondering what he’s doing sitting out when an ice storm is coming. She’s worried about Chelsea who’s not home nor answering her cellphone. She asks to hang out with Frankie while waiting. She sits down and comments on how cold it is, so he pours her something hot to help. She knows he’s thinking about Jack and Jennifer. She admits Jack told her a long time ago about his fatal illness and his plan to have Frankie in the wings to help Jen after he’s gone. Billie figures Jack’s focus on Jennifer helps divert his thoughts about what’s happening to him. Frankie respects Jen too much to force himself on her, it’ll be her decision. Frankie says Jennifer is not Jack’s property, she’s his wife and it’s up to her what she’ll do afterward. He’ll be there, but he will not take advantage of her vulnerability.Inside Jen’s asleep and Jack’s sitting up in bed watching her. He puts the pills down and accidentally awakens her. She asks him to hold her and rolls over for him to spoon with her. He does so and starts gasping for breath. They roll over and she lies her head on his chest saying he’s not going anywhere. She admits trying to stay strong for the kids, but breaks down fearing she can’t help but worry if this would be their last conversation, etc. He tells her how he loves her and starts kissing her. Later Jen’s asleep again and Jack reaches for the bottle of pills. She wakes up as he starts to open the bottle, asking what he’s doing. He says just taking his medication and she asks if he’s in pain. He tells her not when he’s with her. She urges him to be optimistic and to hang on for a cure. She heads down to get cranberry juice for him to take with the pills as the book said it balances out the pH. . Holding the palmful of pills, he says he’s doing this for her
Jen finds Billie and Frankie out front and pulls them in. Jen hears about Chelsea and calls Abby, worried about her too. She leaves a message on Abby’s phone to call her. They all fight as to who should go find the girls and Jack finally relents to stay home and asks Billie to stay with him while Frankie and Jen go look for the girls. Jack asks Billie to take Jennifer out to lunch once a week so she won’t hide out in the house after he’s gone. Jack tells Frankie how Jen loves flowers, especially hydrangeas. She also loves Halloween and candy. Jen walks in hearing him talking about next year and rushes into his arms glad that he’s thinking optimistically. He stops her from leaving and kisses her, saying he loves her. She says the same and for him to go back to bed, she’ll be right back and heads out. Jack gasps a little, saying he didn’t get to say goodbye to Abigail. He gasps more saying he said goodbye to his son, Vern and Jo, but asks her not to let Abigail feel guilty for not being home tonight. He collapses after telling Billie he took all his pills. Billie cries out to him to come back, please come back and rocks him as his eyes roll back into his head…..

Episode # 10190Tape Date: 10/17/05
Air Date: 11/17/05
Director: Albert Alarr
Summary: Nicole finds a new office for Austin, Inc…Lucas puts the squeeze on Lulu…Jack spends a final evening with Jennifer…Alex fills in the blanks on his and Marlena’s history.
At the Deveraux Place…Jack (all dressed in his tux) lights candles and has a quiet romantic evening planned for him and Jennifer. She comes in carrying a bag of groceries and is surprised. She goes to change in the dress he has picked out for her as he says to himself that this is their last evening together. He pulls out two bottles of pills that he plans to take as they go to bed. Later, Jennifer is there as Jack pours the wine and he toasts his cherishing every moment with her. He wants to discuss what she will do when he is gone. Of course she doesn’t want to talk about it, but Jack says they need to. He says after he is gone, he wants her to find someone else, he doesn’t want her to live her life alone. She says she loves HIM and can’t even imagine someone else. She just wants them to enjoy themselves and live in the moment, so he finally agrees. He asks her to dance and as they dance, he talks about all the great times they have had. Jennifer says she wants more…she isn’t ready to let him go. As the music plays, we see brief flashbacks…of their wedding, the Santa proposal (both his and hers)…them kissing…building snowmen…and others I didn’t recognize. Later, they are getting ready for bed as they sit on the bed and kiss by candle light. Later, they are cuddling in bed as Jennifer says she is so happy. Before she rolls over to sleep, she tells Jack not to forget to take his meds. He tells her not to worry as he reaches over to the nightstand, opens the drawer and looks at the 2 bottles of pills.
At Chez Rouge…Lucas is still fuming over Austin & Co. stealing his account. Sophie suggests he try to enjoy the evening. He spots Hans and Lulu there and Sophie tells him that there is something very familiar about her. She finally realizes that she has seen her in the tabloids, saying that she is a con artist and they are sure that the good doctor isn’t aware of her past. Lucas says that Sami used Lulu to get the Clear Visage account, so now he is going to use her to get it back. He has a plan and asks Sophie to keep Hans busy. They go over to their table and Hans tells him that he is wasting his time, he has made his decision. Lucas asks Lulu to dance as Sophie sits and talks with Hans. As they dance, Lucas talks about how familiar she is and she starts to get nervous. She tries to get away but Lucas tells her that he needs a favor from her as he calls her the “diamond divorcee”. He begins to rattle off all the names of her rich ex-husbands, calling her a con artist. She says that Hans knows about her past and doesn’t care (but Lucas isn’t buying it). He tells her to do as he says and he won’t tell. Lucas tells her he wants her to change Hans’ mind and sign with Titan or he will get a very thick package in the mail…about her. She says that is
blackmail and Lucas smiles, saying that is EXACTLY what it is. She says he isn’t giving her much of a choice and agrees to do as he asks her. Lucas takes Lulu back to the table and as they leave, Sophie offers Hans some advice…and whispers just one word…”pre-nup” and they leave. Hans and Lulu sit back down and she suggests that they go back to the hotel…she suddenly isn’t hungry. She says they need to talk, but not here. Back at their table, Lucas tells Sophie he is sure he will get the account now…sure Austin will be pissed…and they won’t even know what hit them.
Meanwhile at Austin, Inc…Austin has Sami blindfolded and is leading her to show her their new office space. Nicole arrives as well, much to Sami’s dismay. They go in (Sami still blindfolded) to a place (which looks a LOT like Belle’s loft) and remove Sami’s blindfolded. She is extremely upset and says NO WAY she is working there. It turns out that it is Brandon’s apartment that he wants to sublet (Nicole arranged it all). Sami tries to convince Austin that it will not work, but Nicole is working just as hard to convince him it will. She says it is great…the location, lots of room, it has a bedroom…Austin could even live there…it is perfect. Sami accuses her of just wanting to move in with him (since she has no where to live), but Nicole denies that, saying now they can all have their own places. She says that Sami should be happy to get her place back, maybe now Will would want to move back with her and they begin to argue as Austin walks up asking if there is a problem. They say no, they are just deciding about the place. Austin says that they both have good points. Sami says they shouldn’t over extend themselves, but it IS a great place. He finally decides with Nicole and decides they should get it.
At the Penthouse…Marlena asks Alex what John means by calling him a fraud. He says that John is just trying to discredit him. John says in all the paperwork he found no documents about their divorce and is sure that Alex fabricated all the others. Marlena asks Alex if they were so in love and never divorced…then why aren’t they still together. Alex says there is a good reason for that…he died. John uses the computer to do a search on him and says there is no record of his death either. Alex comes over and goes to a secure website and tells John to type in the code “GMD9672”. He tells them that he was recruited by the government as an undercover agent. John types in the code and a document comes up about Alex missing and presumed dead. They all want an explanation. Alex says it is time he told Marlena everything. He tells them that shortly after they were married he was recruited by special ops. He didn’t want to, but saw it as his patriotic duty and his expertise was needed. Later he was shot down over enemy territory and was held hostage and presumed dead. He says years later, he learned that she took the news very hard…and that is when she had her first bout of hysterical amnesia and that is why she doesn’t remember. Both John and Kate (why is she even there?) are very skeptical but Alex swears it is true. He explains that when he was rescued he wanted to find her but was told that she had moved on (as he pulls out an old newspaper article about her joining Salem University Hospital). He says when he finally tracked her down she was married to Roman and they had children (Hmmm…what about Don Craig?) He says she was happy and he couldn’t interfere so he walked away…and has been haunted by it ever since. John says it is all “BS” and wants details so he can check it all out. Alex says he will tell everything to Marlena…IF she wants it. John demands the info, saying she is HIS wife. Marlena says “no, I’m not” She says if she and Alex never divorced, then she was never legally married to either him or Roman. She says if this is real, then she is married to Alex. She turns to Alex and says “Alex, I am your wife”. Alex smiles and the camera freezes on Marlena…as the previews show…Belle (to Philip): You deserve so much more…you deserve so much better…(as they hug)…
Shawn (who is in the shower), to Mimi: Come in with me…Mimi: I don’t know…(as we then see them hugging)…
Alex (to Marlena): Give me the chance to prove to you that I am the only man you have ever really loved…
Jack (clinging to Billie as she cries): Tell Jennifer I…tell her I love her (as he collapses to the floor)…Billie: JACK!!!
And the credits roll…

Aside from Linda...
Hmmm...wonder how they'll explain RoJohn and "Alex" together back in 1991 when RoJohn was with Isabella, Marlena had just awoken from a "coma", and was found to be still alive, and then we found out that the real Roman was still alive and in Mexico, too. So RoJohn is not really Roman, he's John Black (he still didn't know that). Some how they all meet up in Mexico. Thanks to MikeR (old EE fans will remember him from his Spoiler Companion) for this DOOL flashback :-)Tuesday, November 15, 2005

Episode #10189Tape date 10/14
Director Phil Sogard
Another yawn fest episode, as Chez Rouge gets most of the Salemites who are seemingly out to drink, as no food in sight, lol. Mimi & Belle continue their talk, while Marlena seems to recall more memories of an earlier time with Alex.
MIMI CONTINUES TO PRESS BELLE to give her a straight answer about her feelings for Shawn. Philip returns, scolding Mimi for yelling at his wife. Both say it was nothing, and Belle finally admits still having feelings for Shawn, claiming he was her lst love and she will always have feelings for him. But, she says, Philip is her husband, father of her child, yada, yada. He goes upstairs, which makes Mimi urges Belle to NOW tell her the truth. They argue. (WHY is Mimi insisting over and over that Belle tell her she still wants Shawn?) Philip comes back downstairs, assuring Mimi that from the way he looks at her, Shawn is hers. Cue unhappy look on Belle’s face, but she hugs Mimi, congratulating her. Philip suggests they all go out on the town together sometimes, getting a gramma to babysit (Oh, do the grandparents remember Claire at all?). They all agree that would be nice and Mimi leaves.
MICKEY SEES MAGGIE MIXING DRINKS, & volunteers to do the honors himself, after Maggie explains her bartender called in sick, and she has no replacement. Austin & Sami arrive, asking for a bottle of best champagne for their celebratory dinner. Nicole comes in right behind them, bellies up to the bar, ordering a cosmo. Lucas has his hands wrapped around a glass, as he remembers losing the Clear Visage account to Austin, Nicole & Sami. Maggie comes up, telling him to put down that drink. He tells her he did not intend to drink it, just smell it. Tells her it smells like paradise, but he knows better than to take even one drink. Roman walks in with his cell phone plastered to his ear, evidently talking to Kate and explaining why he just had to get out of there. Kate tells him not to return, this now is between Alex, Marlena & John.
Maggie gives Lucas a big pep talk, urging him to steal that account right back from the trio. She tells him he is a Horton, with tons of support from family, plus he is a Roberts. And his mother never gave up, plus the only person who is going to make him look bad in Victor’s eyes is himself. She leaves. Sophie arrives. Austin tells Sami that she did so well, while only being an administrative assistant, she has definitely earned partner status. Sami happily grins. Nicole, who is watching them, bumps into Roman, spilling her drink. She moans about her $12 drink, Roman offers to get her another. Both sit at the bar, with Roman ordering a beer, but Nicole soon talks him into trying a cosmo, too. They banter back & forth, and when Roman tries his drink, he admits it packs quite a wallop. Nicole tells Mickey to make up a pitcher of Cosmos Austin & Sami have a serious talk about her future. Lucas whines to Sophie about always losing to Austin. He mentions the account, the fact that Victor originally offered his job to Austin, who turned it down. Then goes on about his long ago love, Carrie, who also chose Austin over him, and even Sami back then, chose Austin. Sophie pats his ego, and of course, offers to go to his apt. and “fool around all night long”.
Sami goes to the ladies room, not happy to find Nicole there, too. They do their usual petty arguing, and then Nicole “socks it to her” as she talks of the “hot” guy who is plying her with cosmos. Why, she would swear he wanted to get her in bed. When Sami asks who would this loser be…..Nicole sweetly replies “your daddy”. Both leave (wonder how come no one actually uses the facilities there, Not even the mirror for quick nose powder or something. LOL) Nicole is not happy to find Roman gone, figuring he stiffed her for the drinks. (He is outside, on phone, being told by Kate that Marlena has absolutely no memory of him at all). Sami is happy to NOT see her dad, but watches Sophie & Lucas getting very cozy. Austin returns, telling her he wants to show her something, and will go get the car. (see……no dinner, lolol)Sami puts on her coat, but cannot resist stopping at Lucas’ table, telling him she was sorry about the Visage account, but business is business. She throws in a few more digs about losing the account, and disappointing Victor, then leaves. Lucas just smiles, telling Sophie he has a plan. He gets up saying he will be right back, gets on his cell, calling someone for some information.
Roman returns, telling Nicole that he may have just lost an important person in his life, so what the hell, let’s have a drink. .
JOHN WANTS ALEX TO LEAVE, but Marlena says she does remember the night Alex proposed to her. John tries to get Marlena to realize that perhaps suggestions from Alex are causing her to remember things that never happened. He tells her there are many documented cases of people who “recalled” things that never happened. Alex tells Marlena to tell John what else she remembers of that proposal night. Cue flashback to Wayne Northrup (who played Roman Brady back then, but is playing Dr. North now) & Diedre Hall (Marlena) playing strip poker, laughing and joking around. Marlena then tells of remembering Alex proposing to her in the snow, and then lighting a fire in their bedroom fireplace back in their chalet, talking of it being the most romantic thing. John looks devastated. (I thought Mr. Corday said this was a John & Marlena "love story". When does THAT begin.......2007?) Kate tells John she believes Marlena is really remembering, as she is being specific with her memories, they are not vague. Alex & Marlena go out on the balcony, where Alex wants her to look a more pictures in the album, of their life together. John is having a hard time believing they were ever married, and gets on the computer to prove it. He eventually receives some info, saying, I knew it! I have enough evidence now to show Marlena that Dr. North is a complete fraud. Marlena & Alex have just come into the room as John says this. She turns to Alex, asking “what is he talking about”? Freeze frame on Alex’s face, as the previews roll…..
Lucas: If this works out, we’ll all be winners.
Lulu: It’s blackmail is what it is.
Lucas: So, you gonna help me pull this off or what?
Nicole: You might hate me now, but you never know, things can change
Sami: Just go to hell. Austin (just coming in): Is there a problem?
Marlena: Don’t you think you owe me an explanation?
Alex: You’re right. It is time I told you everything.
Barb
P.S. No, there was no mention at all of the “child” that Alex mentioned who was now “gone”.

Show #: 10,188Directed by: Albert Alarr
Tape Date: 10/13/05
As Mimi and Belle talk about their feelings for Shawn, the firm winning Clear Visage's account is announced and Alex tells Marlena how they met and got married, much to John's and Roman's dismay.
MIMI AND BELLE…
Mimi asks Belle why she said that Claire was Shawn’s daughter. Belle said Philip is Claire’s father, but Mimi questions that now. Mimi mentions they haven’t talked in a long time and feels they need to be absolutely honest now. She asks Belle if she’s still in love with and wants Shawn. Belle denies any of that, saying she’s married to Philip and has his baby, but Mimi can read between the lines. Belle resents Mimi’s badgering, reminding her how she’s trying to deal with post partum depression and a new baby. Mimi comments how disconnected Belle is with her daughter and about the Freudian slip about Claire being Shawn’s baby. Mimi continues arguing that Belle wishes she were married to Shawn, not Philip. Belle looks at her wedding picture and Philip’s face turns to Shawn. She later denies that and insists she’s in love with her husband. Mimi tells Belle that she and Shawn are taking baby steps toward a relationship and haven’t slept together yet, but she wanted to know how Belle felt about it if they did get serious. Belle feels it’s too soon for her and Shawn being they’re both on the rebound. Mimi lashes back asking how Belle could say that to her as that’s what she’s got with Philip.
THE BATTLE FOR CLEAR VISAGE….

Sami brings Schnitzel’s fiancée to Lucas’ office at Titan where they’re fighting over the U.S. rights to Clear Visage. Austin is surprised they’re still in the running as Schnitzel wants to hear what his fiancée has to say. Sami tells them her horoscope said a stranger will hold a key to her success and Lulu says her said the same. Lulu refuses to let her honey get swallowed up by a big conglomerate. Billie asks why she thought that’s what they are and she tells them because her home girl Sami told her so. Sami rattles off some of the products Titan’s been involved in. Both sides argue their sides as Sami argues that Lucas has only been with Titan for a week and doesn’t know what products they’ve had in the 3 years since he was gone and Billie hasn’t been actively involved with the company in years either. Austin Reed and Co. is new and aggressive and will put everything into his account, unlike Titan that would just write it off if the product “tanked”. They deserve their full attention. Lucas insists they have the best marketing firm in the country unlike the other new company. Hans has made up his mind. Lucas writes down a sweeter offer and Billie offers food and coffee (which Sami calls her on) as Lulu and Hans talk in private. The two teams argue in the outer office. Sami rants she’s a better marketer and Lulu’s in there closing the deal for them right now. Eugenia suggests they eavesdrop and pushes the intercom button. The only talking going on in the office is moaning as Hans and Lulu get it on. We return to them listening in to Hans and Lulu’s activities and finally turn it off to argue who deserves the account more. Lucas and Austin argue as their sister Billie breaks it up. Sami feels confident that Austin would want to make HER his partner after this and Nicole tells Sami she doesn’t have any more contacts to manipulate, unless she digs into Stan’s rolodex (ouch). Sami bites back that perhaps they should invent a cream for hiding flesh eating bacteria (double ouch) after what she did to Chloe. Lucas tells Billie that those two screw ups will be the death of Austin’s new company. A giggling Hans and Lulu come out of the office and he announces he’s decided on Austin Reed and Co. Lucas and Billie are stunned as Sami cheers. Arrangements are made for the contract and Hans suggests that Ms. Brady be in charge of their account. Austin will take that into consideration. The lovebirds head back to their hotel. Lucas tells Austin and Co. to leave and orders Billie and Eugenia into his office. He is furious. Billie said it’s not personal, it’s business. Lucas disagrees saying it’s now WAR. Outside Austin tells Sami she saved the day and they’re on their way now. She suggests he take her out to dinner to celebrate and he joyfully agrees and hugs her after she suggested they also talk about who will be the account executive. Nicole watches silently as he twirls Sami.
EENY, MEENY, MINEY, MO…WHO WILL MARLENA CHOOSE??

Marlena denies having any memories of being married to Alex. Alex mentions that he was the first man she married and in God’s eyes is her husband, is HIM. Roman and John dispute how Alex is handling her memories to his own advantage. John tries to get Alex to leave, but he says that’s Marlena’s call and even her priest stated how sacred her original marriage vows are (ouch, backfired on you with including Father Janssen, John). Marlena is torn and confused (poor baby with three hunks all wanting her for their own). Kate tries to help and Roman tells Kate that she’d get John if Marlena chose Alex. Kate insists it’s not about her, nor is it about any of the men, it’s who Marlena chooses. She is a living, functioning human being and has the right to decide whom she wants. Marlena thanks Kate and says Kate is right. She might not remember much of her life, but it IS her life. She knows John and Roman are trying to remind her of their life together, but the one person who hasn’t is Alex. It’s his turn now to tell her everything about their life from the very beginning and not to leave anything out. It might even help her regain her memory.
Marlena listens and smiles as he recounts how they met. Alex says they met the first day of medical school in their anatomy class. He describes what she wore and her hair was in a pony tail. He was so smitten he couldn’t stand it. She was sweet and polite. They were made lab partners and he asked her out to dinner. She didn’t go with him the first two times, but he knew he would be the kind of person she would go out with if she was into dating right now. He formed a study group, figuring that’s how he could be with her. The other members dropped out mysteriously and it was just her and him. (John snorts about that coincidence) They got tired of studying at the library and used their apartments instead. She loved the idea. She was attracted to him but was afraid of being distracted from her studies. Their dinners became more intimate (inserting picture of them in bed). He invited her to the big hospital New Years Eve formal and she accepted. They had a lovely time and they talked, danced and laughed and then kissed. At that moment everything changed and they spent the night at the Village Inn and they laughed about all the obstacles he had to do to get her. It’s all because of her that he worked so hard and became the doctor he is today (John snorts). They went on a ski trip that next year and talked about marriage. He never gave up on her as he could tell she was with him too. John interrupts, calling Alex a lying bastard and accuses him of trying to wear Marlena down. John wants this to stop, but Marlena said she’s heard John’s memories, now it’s time for Alex to continue. He does, saying they started making plans after their ski trip, to open a practice together. He took her back to that class room where they met and looked at her and introduced himself and how honored he was that she would be his wife. She told him that she loved him from the minute she met him and would do so until the day they died and longer. They decided on a small wedding, made their own plans and asked Dr. Robbins to give her away (don’t her parents attend any of her weddings?) being he introduced them. They found a one bedroom house in town with a perfect view. They had a spare room that they could turn into a nursery. With tears in her eyes, Marlena asks if they had a baby. He says they did, but it’s gone. He said it’s a long story that she’s not ready to hear yet. John accuses him of lying and needs more time to create a story. He says Alex decided he wanted her after he was brought onto the case. Roman agrees. Roman said everything he gave her could be created on a computer by a sixth grader. Marlena is stunned and walks away as John demands Alex leaves. Alex understands that John feels that way, but it’s Marlena’s decision if he stays or leaves. He gently goes and asks her if anything he said brought back any memories, even the love they shared? She turns and crying, says she remembers and John turns around, also stunned. He tells Marlena she’s been brainwashed and orders Alex out and Roman backs him up. He warns Alex to leave before he finds something to arrest him for. Alex tells Marlena his only intent was to help her and goes to leave. She asks him to wait….

Episode # 10187
Tape Date: 10/12/05
Air Date: 11/14/05
Director: Albert Alarr
Summary: Sami finds an unlikely ally in the park…An upset Belle makes a slip of the tongue in front of Mimi…Austin/Nicole & Lucas/Billie make their pitches for the new product line…Marlena makes her choice between the 3 Romans, shocking everyone.
At the Loft…Mimi comes over to visit with Belle. It seems that Philip was on his way to a doctor appointment and asked her to stay with Belle. Belle is upset to learn this, thinking that Philip asked Mimi to baby sit her. Mimi takes up for him, saying she was coming over anyway and just wants to be friend. Belle apologizes for snapping at her. Mimi wants to play with Claire or give her a bottle, but learns that she is asleep. Mimi apologizes again for the way she has treated Belle for the past few months as both of them want to put it all behind them. They decide that they have been friends for too long to let it all fall apart. Mimi tells her that she has a date later with Shawn, which raises Belle’s hackles. She begins to question her for details and objects to the restaurants that Mimi mentions, citing that they were her and Shawn’s favorite places. Mimi asks her if dating Shawn is a problem for her and Belle says no…even though Mimi isn’t buying it. Belle says she is okay with it, but she just doesn’t want to see them rush into anything and make a mistake, suggesting that it is a rebound relationship. Mimi asks her if SHE thinks SHE made a mistake with Philip and if she is still in love with Shawn. Belle claims that what she and Shawn had is over and she just doesn’t want to see either Mimi or Shawn get hurt because she believes that Mimi still has unresolved feelings for Rex. Belle apologizes again, saying it is the PPD talking. They hear Claire crying and Mimi goes up to see her as Belle sits alone and cries. Mimi comes back later with Claire’s scrapbook and suggests they work on it together. They start oohing and ahhing over pictures and Mimi asks who she looks like. Belle looks at the picture and says she looks like her dad…Shawn…shocking them both.
At Sami’s Place…Nicole is zipping up her portfolio, telling Austin that they have one helluva a presentation and is sure that they will win the account over Lucas. She takes the time to slam Sami and urges him to fire her before she does more damage. Austin refuses, saying he hopes that Sami has learned her lesson. Nicole is sure that she will NEVER learn her lesson. After they leave, Sami slithers out of the bedroom (where she was eavesdropping) and says that she needs a plan to stop Nicole and regain Austin’s trust. She is determined to help win this account. She finds some of Nicole’s clothes in the floor and rips it up, saying that Nicole has messed with the WRONG woman…by the end of the day she will be sorry. With renewed spirit, she leaves.
Sami ends up in the park with her coffee and her INTRUDER rag-mag to get inspired. She reads her horoscope and learns that “a boost to her business and personal life will come from an unlikely source…a stranger holds the key to success”. A woman (dressed like a hooker) sits down beside her and they strike up a conversation. She tells Sami that she needs to do like her and find herself a man to spoil her rotten. She introduces herself as Lulu and Sami can’t take her eyes off of her jewelry. She says it is from her fiancée…her former boss. She explains that she gave up trying to get ahead by working hard and advises her to find the richest boss she can and go after him…like she did. Sami says she couldn’t do that and asks her name again. She says her name is “Lulu Weiner” as Sami chokes on her coffee. She looks at her and says her future is about to come true.
At Titan…Lucas is freaking out before his meeting with Dr. Schnitzel, wanting to prove himself to Victor by getting this account. Eugenia is trying to calm him down and begins slamming Sami in the process, but Lucas tells her to stop. Billie shows up, telling him she is there to stop him from making a huge mistake and that she is only there to help him win this account for Titan and Countess Wilhimena. After her reasons are explained (saying that the doctor has an eye for the ladies and she couldn’t hurt), he finally gives in and hands over the presentation for her to look at. Dr. Schnitzel arrives as Billie flirts with him a bit. Austin and Nicole burst in to the office as Nicole explains that it was Dr. Schnitzel’s idea to have the 2 presentations back to back. He suggests they flip a coin to see who goes first and Austin/Nicole win, so Lucas, Billie and Eugenia file out of the office. Eugenia suggests that Billie go freshen up before their meeting. After she leaves, Eugenia hustles over to her desk and hits the intercom button as she and Lucas listen in on the other presentation. Austin and Nicole finish up and come and come out as Lucas and Billie go in. Nicole complains about the coffee and asks Eugenia to go get some fresh. After she is gone, Nicole rushes over to hit the intercom button to listen is as well, but (holier-than-thou) Austin stops her, saying it isn’t right. She tells him if they want to win, they must play the game…besides, she is sure they did the same thing. She wants to know what is going on in there, but Austin says no. Eugenia returns with the coffee as Lucas and Billie come out. The doctor asks them to give him some time while he makes his decision. Nicole tells Austin when they win this account, they will buy out Countess Wilhimena…she will take Lucas’s office and he can have Victor’s. Lucas hears her and asks where will Sami be. Nicole says, on the street where she belongs. Billie tries to advise Austin about Nicole and Sami, but he won’t listen to her. She tells him that she will hire him on at their company but he counters, saying HE will hire her when HE wins this account. The doctor tells them all that he has decided and all go into Lucas’s office. He tells them he has decided to go with the more established company…Titan. Austin takes it on the chin and congratulates Lucas and Billie…but Sami comes rushing in, telling them not to sign any papers just yet. They need to listen to what she has to say. She tells him he should meet someone…her new best friend…the future “Ms. Lulu Weiner-Schnitzel” as Lulu comes in saying “Hi Sugar” and stars kissing the doctor.
At the Penthouse…Marlena tells everyone she is ready to resolve this and has made a decision about who to spend her life with. John wants to talk to her privately first and pulls her aside, telling her that there is one name she should NOT consider. Kate and Roman also talk as Roman confides to her that he hopes Marlena chooses him as well. Kate says she has always known that Roman still loved Marlena and he says she still wants John as well. John tells Marlena that Alex cannot be trusted and what he has done is wrong as well as unethical. Alex butts in, telling her not to listen to John. Kate and Roman talk about John’s feelings for Marlena and how her decision may be something that John doesn’t want to hear. Alex tells John that Marlena is capable of making her own decisions and doesn’t need his help. John warns her that Alex has told her lots of lies and one thing that she can be sure of is that he (John) will always love her. She tells him that she may not have her memory, but that is one thing she is sure of. Roman pipes up and says that he loves her as well…for as long as he can remember. She gave him 2 beautiful children and they will always have a bond. Alex pitches as well, saying he loves h er too and the proof is in her hands. Marlena says Alex is right as John grimaces and says Oh My God…don’t tell me you are choosing him. John begs her not to, but Marlena says she is meant to spend the rest of her life with Alex as everyone looks on in shock. John says that Alex has brainwashed her but she says she has the proof that she loved him and hands it over to John. John and Roman look at it as John says “it’s not possible”. We quickly see a picture of Marlena and Roman’s wedding (when Wayne portrayed Roman, that is). John asks “You two were married?”. Freeze frame on Marlena’s face…as the previews show…Marlena (to Alex): I want you to tell me everything about our life…from the beginning…and don’t leave anything out (as John frowns)…
Lucas (yelling at Sami): You used his girlfriend to pimp your company (Sami): It’s just a celebrity endorsement…
Mimi (loudly to Belle): I want you to be honest with me…regardless of how you feel about Philip…do you still want Shawn? Tell me the truth so I know how to live MY life…
And the credits roll…

Episode: 10,186 Directed by: Herb Stein
Tape Date: 10/11/05
Lucas meets his new assistant that Victor hired; Austin gets a business idea; Jen wants to throw Jack a party; and Marlena calls a meeting.
AT THE DEVERAUXS
It’s a new day in Salem as Hope rushes over to Jennifer’s. Jennifer wants to throw Jack a party to celebrate him and his life. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Jack gets a pain and practically collapses. Frankie runs in and holds him up as Jack fears this is the beginning of the end for him. He tells Frankie not to tell Jennifer what’s happening and can’t bear to have her hurt watching him worsen. He says this is what Lexie warned him would happen.
Jack and Frankie join Hope and Jennifer. Jenn tells him he’s just in time for his green drink and Jack obliging chugs it down as Hope and Frankie grimace at the look of what it must taste like, LOL. Jack learns of the party and doesn’t want Jen stressed with it on top of everything else. Hope jumps in, offering to take care of the details and orders them to go have some fun together.
THE APARTMENTS
LUCAS is surprised to learn that Victor hired Eugenia as his new assistant. He tries to fire her and she threatens to sue him with a law suit if he tries. He asks what she’s talking about and she says it’s against the law to fire someone just because you don’t like them. She reminds him Victor wouldn’t hire her if she wasn’t qualified and asks him to give her a chance, extending her hand to shake on it.
AUSTIN, INC.
Austin tells Sami and Nicole about a new invention to cover fine wrinkle lines being developed in Switzerland called Visage. If they can get the U.S. rights to it from it’s creator (Dr. Schnitzel), their company would skyrocket. Nicole gets angry when Sami laughs at the creator’s name, warning her to take it seriously or make coffee. Austin finds Dr. Schnitzel is visiting Salem and Nicole figures they should target mid 30s to mid 50’s women when Sami asks why not younger women. Nicole reminds her what the product is for and suggests Sami make coffee or order lunch, something she knows how to do. Sami realizes Austin’s blowing her off when he tells her to take a break as she’s been working real hard. She walks into the hall and peeks into Lucas apartment to see Eugenia in there with him. Lucas finds Sami lurking and they exchange words after she hears Eugenia is working for him now. Eugenia leans on Lucas as she taunts Sami. Sami insists she’s good at her job and their company will wipe Titan away. She has a fantasy that Austin is so impressed with her that he has her to not only be his new executive officer, but gets on his knee and proposes to her, much to Nicole’s dismay. Lucas walks in and tells Austin no, he loves her and was a fool to ever let her go and wants her back. Back to reality, Lucas makes snide comments about her, Nicole and Austin working together and Sami backlashes saying after their appointment with Dr. Schnitzel today, they’ll be on top. Lucas thanks her for that valuable information that Schnitzel is in town. Eugenia tells Sami that she’s her own worst enemy and will be Austin’s too when he learns what she did. Nicole walks in and realizes that Sami blew their secret op. Austin walks in and blows up at this news as Lucas and Eugenia enjoy watching the action. Nicole demands that Austin fire Sami right now so this won’t happen again. Sami apologizes. Austin reluctantly gives her one more chance and Sami is grateful. He tells her he gave her the day off and he and Nicole head back to the apartment to work alone. Eugenia enjoys giving Sami a hard time before she leaves.
AT THE SALEM INN…Alex, Kate and John are having breakfast in Kate’s suite. Roman arrives to give Kate her divorce papers and is surprised to see that John and Alex are there as well. (what, the inn run out of rooms?) John clues Roman in that he’s doing what it takes to keep that bastard away from Marlena. Left alone, Kate and Roman exchange words. Kate gets angry that men are always so protective of Marlena, saying it makes her sick to death. She thinks John deserves more and Roman accuses Kate of still having feelings for John just as she does of him and Marlena. John hounds Alex about the mysterious papers he gave Marlena. He warns Alex that it won’t change Marlena’s feelings for him. Alex feels confident it will.

AT THE PENTHOUSE…
With tears in her eyes, Marlena looks at the papers Alex gave her, saying she knows what she has to do now. She calls John saying she’d like to see him. He likes the sound of that, but she asks him to bring Alex and Roman and even Kate along. She feels they’re all interconnected and that they’re going to get to the bottom of this once and for all. Later everyone is gathered at the Penthouse, anxious to hear what Marlena has to say. She hasn’t gotten her memory back, but has had some perfect memories of her and John together. John asks what memories and she remembers a Christmas night they had together (brief flash of them kissing and making love). John kneels in front of her, sure she’s decided to come back to him. She explains she’s not done yet. She tells Roman she knows that their baby she lost was conceived in love. She’s confused how she could love one of them while loving the other and which one does she belong with?
JACK AND JEN are lying on the hood of their car watching planes taking off. She should have figured that’s where they’d go. He has another surprise for her as he opens his laptop to show her a video scrapbook of their life together. A slideshow of pictures begins. She remembers when she surprised him and told him she was pregnant. She loves the scrapbook and he admits working on it for a while as a remembrance of him, for her to have when he’s …. But she stops him before he finishes, crying that she can’t lose him. She wants to have memories of this day and he whips out his digital camera and takes pictures of them (some great, others we can relate to, haha).. He gets a pain and starts panting. He claims it was a cramp in his leg as they’ve been lying out there for so long. She rushes to get him another shake (seaweed and kiwi). He tells himself it won’t be long. She brings a thermos with the shake in it, explaining she’s glad they went back and got it (aha, they know how eagle eye fans would point out that they didn’t have it when they left, haha)…and Jack obligingly drinks some. Even Jen grimaces, asking if it’s really that bad. He claims to be getting use to it and starting to like it, haha. She has a healthy microbiotic dinner for him at home.
Now with a fire crackling, Hope and Frankie prepare for the party. She asks how long he’s staying. He says as long as Jennifer needs him. Hope realizes that Frankie still loves Jennifer and how much Jennifer cared for him too. Frankie confides to Hope about Jack’s request for him to be there for Jennifer after he’s gone. Hope tells him that’s one of the most selfless things she’s ever heard and Jen will need him more than ever after Jack’s gone. . Hope tells him how much Jennifer loves Jack, but Frankie was Jennifer’s first love and the only one who could help her after Jack’s gone..BACK AT THE APARTMENTS, Sami has left and Lucas is happy he got an appointment with Schnitzel. Sami strolls the halls as Austin gets word from his contact that Titan has an appointment with Schnitzel already. Nicole has an idea.
MARLENA, with tears in her eyes, tells the others at the penthouse that she now knows who the person she’s meant to spend the rest of her life with is …..as the previews roll.Lucas: "Billie, what the hell you doing here?"
Billie: "Trying to stop you from making a HUGE mistake."
Sami looks a little shocked and a woman asks if she’s okay. Sami replies that her “future is about to come true.”
Mimi to Belle: "I’m sorry Belle. Did you say that you made a mistake by marrying Philip and having his baby when you’re still in love with Shawn?”
Marlena to the group…"Alex is right."
John: "Oh, my God."
As the credits roll…

Episode # 10185Tape Date: 10/06/05
Air Date: 11/10/05
Director: Albert Alarr
Summary: Sami and Nicole continue to argue over Austin, as Billie now gets involved (Kate wannabe?)…Belle can’t keep her mind off Shawn…Mimi apologizes to Belle…John and Alex continue to argue over Marlena, as Alex produces some new information.
At the Apartment Building…Austin and Billie meet up in the hall and she tells him that she talked with Maggie and learned that he is in business with Nicole and Sami. Inside, Sami and Nicole continue their bickering over him. Nicole says that Sami’s routine is getting old…if she were a TV she would just hit the mute button or turn her off. Sami vows to keep her and Austin apart, even though Nicole swears it’s business. It seems that Austin and Nicole are going to a meeting and she wasn’t invited (Austin thought it for the best, because of the “Stan” business). But Sami thinks that “Nurse Nicole” shouldn’t be allowed to go either. Sami wants to pitch her ideas but Nicole says that this meeting is critical and Sami has trouble closing deals…especially weddings. After a little arm twisting (Sami bringing up the Chloe business) Sami asks Nicole if she is ready to hear her ideas. In the hall, Austin doesn’t want a lecture from Billie, but she continues anyway about those “2 idiots” he has hired. He defends them, but she is sure that they are both just manipulating him. He tells her to just trust him, he can handle it. He goes to put his brief case and an easel in the car and tells her he will be right back. Inside, Sami and Nicole continue to bicker. Nicole says the reason Austin came back to Salem was for the woman he loves as Sami is quick to point out it is NOT Nicole. Nicole laughs at Sami thinking it could be HER (as Sami has flashbacks of Austin dumping her at their wedding in Vegas). Nicole mocks the way Sami cried after him. Nicole says that Austin came home for Lucas’s wedding and Sami says he ended up supporting HER…so Austin came back for her. The door slams as they turn to see Billie standing there. She says “You are delusional if you think my brother is still interested in you” as Nicole smirks. Billie unloads on them (especially Sami) and warns them both to stay away from him, or they will answer to her…just as Austin walks in. He suggests that he and Billie go up on the roof to talk. After they leave, Sami says that Billie will turn Austin against BOTH of them. Nicole says that Austin does NOT love Sami and storms off to her room to do some work. Curiosity is killing Sami as she is dying to know what Austin and Billie are talking about. So she sneaks out on the fire escape to climb up to the roof. She starts up the ladder only to find Nicole a few rungs ahead of her. Nicole says “Poor Sami…always a step behind”. She climbs up even with Nicole as she reminds her that she has a fear of heights. They begin to struggle to get ahead of each other as the ladder slips and begins to slide down. On the roof, Austin asks Billie what is going on and assures her that he can take care of himself. She tells him that both of those women just want to jump his bones (her words). Austin tells her not to worry, if either of them cause a problem, they will be gone…but he is there to stay. They hug as she tells him she is so glad he is back but wonders WHY he came back to Salem. She asks him if he has a girl in his life and immediately wants to know who it is. They hear the ladder slide down and Billie thinks it may be that old tomcat “Buddy” that used to climb around the apartment building. Austin wants to check it out, but she won’t let him change the subject. She asks WHO it is he came back for but he won’t tell her. He says that right how, his priority is his business. Billie says okay, as long as it isn’t Sami or Nicole and he is happy as they hug.Sami and Nicole return to the apartment arguing about whose fault it was and who Austin would choose, both sure it would be her. Nicole storms off to her room as Sami says she is going to show Austin that she has changed and prove to him that she is perfect for him…in his business AND his life.
At the Loft…Mimi sings to Claire as Shawn watches her, making her uncomfortable and she tells him to go away. Later Shawn has finished fixing the sink and Claire is asleep. Mimi goes to put her down as Shawn opens a bottle of wine to celebrate. In the other loft, Philip tells Belle that it sounds like she doesn’t want Shawn with anyone else. He asks what is wrong with her and she claims she is just tired and goes up to bed and cries. Later, she falls asleep, but has a dream of her and Shawn talking. In the dream, he informs her that Mimi is pregnant with his child. She wakes up in a cold sweat and goes back downstairs. But Philip isn’t there and she picks up a photo album and flips through it. She sees a picture of her and Shawn and starts crying again. She tosses it down and heads over to Shawn’s loft. Philip had gone over there earlier as Shawn told him not to worry about Claire. Philip apologizes for upsetting Mimi about the baby. Shawn tells him that Mimi is doing better after talking to Father Jansen. Shawn asks about Belle and he says that something is really bothering her as he fills Shawn in on her condition. Shawn is sure that the meds will kick in soon. Philip thanks them for all their help as Mimi brings Claire out to feed her. As Philip is watching, Belle walks in and sees this. Belle asks Mimi if she is okay and Mimi says she had an amazing experience earlier and wants to talk to Belle privately, so they go out into the hall and Shawn burps the baby. Philip and Shawn hope they work things out but Shawn isn’t so sure that will happen. Philip says that Belle has been through a lot lately and everyone that she depended on isn’t there anymore. He thinks that Mimi can help her. In the hall, Mimi tells Belle she wants to apologize. She tells her about freaking out earlier and going to St. Luke’s and talking with Father Jansen. She tells Belle that she can’t blame Belle for losing Rex…it was all her own fault. She tells Belle that she has forgiven herself and is now ready to move on with her life, but can’t without Belle’s forgiveness. Shawn and Philip are now watching and Philip encourages Belle to forgive Mimi. She does and they hug. Philip hugs Belle and tells her that now they can get on with their lives, but Belle is too busy watching Mimi and Shawn kiss.
At the Penthouse…Marlena doesn’t blame John for moving on, but now she wants an answer from him…her or Kate? He says there is no doubt, he wants to be with Marlena. Kate backs him up, saying that it was the grief that brought them together. Kate explains that he was paralyzed and had no one to depend on. He goes on to tell about his addiction to the meds and that Kate moved in to help take care of him. Alex applauds and asks why doesn’t John just admit that he would have been better off had Marlena remained “dead”. John has had enough and punches Alex in the face, knocking him off his feet. After he gets up, they argue some more and Alex asks WHAT IF Marlena had come back after he and Kate had married. John is tired of “what if’s” and says that Alex is only confusing Marlena and trying to poison her mind against him. Alex says it sounds like John is trying to convince himself of their love, not Marlena. Marlena says that Alex is right, it sounds like John doesn’t believe that their marriage was strong. John talks about the countless times they have been driven apart, by Stefano and then Tony…but says he will NOT lose her to this FREAK. He says he is being aggressive because he wants to protect her. He says that their love is strong…no POWERFUL…and that others have always been envious of it. He admits he was concerned about her remembering Roman, considering the past that they shared. Alex asks if THAT is why John (when he first hired him) asked Alex to tip the scales in his favor. Sheepishly, John admits to that and says it is like Marlena believing he loved Kate. Marlena and Roman have a history and he feared that when her memory returned, she would remember Roman and he would lose her. Alex tries to convince Marlena that John does not love her like HE does. John and Alex get nose to nose and John asks Alex WHY he is there. Alex says that he has proof and Marlena will see just how special she is to him. He shows her some papers and she is shocked when she looks at them. She asks them all to leave, saying she needs to process this. John refuses to leave unless Alex does, so Kate suggests that he come and stay with them, since she has an extra bedroom. Marlena assures them she will be okay, she needs time alone and asks them to leave now. After they file out, she looks at the pictures on the desk and then at the papers and says “Oh my WORD…can this be true?”…as the previews show…Jack (to Jen): “Kind of a remembrance for you from me…to keep always…long after I am…” She stops him and says “don’t say that…”
Hope (to Frankie): You promised Jack you would take care of her…you have to keep that promise…
Eugenia (to Sami): Girl, you are your own worst enemy...and you will be Austin’s too…once he finds out what you did…
Marlena: I know now the person with whom I am meant to spend my life…(flashes of Roman, John and Alex)…

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH, 2005
While the show itself has not acknowledged it today, November 8th - the Early Edition would like to say... CONGRATULATIONS, DAYS, ON YOUR 40th ANNIVERSARY A continuation of yesterday, with mostly all the same dialogue being repeated using different words. Yawwnnn. John tries convincing Marlena of their undying love, Shawn talks to Belle about Mimi, Clair, etc. while Jen & Frankie talk of Jack’s impending demise, and Jack tries to get Lexie to help him. Hard to believe this is November Sweeps!
AT THE LOFT, Philip comes downstairs, looking for Belle and wondering where she is. Across the hall, Shawn is giving Belle a pep talk about Claire, and volunteers to keep Claire overnight, telling her to go home and get a good night’s sleep. She goes home, where Philip is happy to see her. They talk about Mimi & Shawn, and it is obvious she believes Mimi will never get over her feelings about the abortion, or that she sees any future for Mimi & Shawn together. Philip & Belle argue about their friends for a bit, with Philip telling Belle at last, that she doesn’t want Shawn to end up with anyone.
Meanwhile, across the hall, Shawn is under the sink, working on some pipes, with Claire crying. He yells he will be right there, but unbeknownst to him, Mimi returns and gets Claire. When Shawn sees her holding the baby, he is surprised. Mimi tells him of visiting St. Lukes, how Father Jansen was there, she confessed and he gave her absolution. She tells him how she realized that with God forgiving her, she had to forgive herself, and she has done so. They chat a bit about giving themselves another chance at a relationship, Shawn kisses her on the cheek and goes back to work on the water leak.
AT THE DEVERAUX HOUSE, Frankie is in the back yard, next to a fire, when Jen comes to join him, with her cup of hot chocolate. She talks about Jack, of course, & wanting to help him, mentioning that Lexie is up with Jack now. Lexie was pleased to hear about the nutrition books that Jack had bought. (Wonder if this is still the same night..must be. Weren’t Jack & Jennifer in bed sound asleep when he left to the book store? Yikes…time sure crawls in Salem, doesn’t it? Ha, ha) Jen cannot contemplate life without Jack, remembering when she was in the car with J.T. hanging over the bridge, and Jack came to rescue her. She wonders who will rescue her in the future, and Frankie says he will. She mentions how Jack hates Patrick, who delivered their son, but seems to like Frankie, almost as if he handpicked Frankie to take his place. Frankie says, he did, but then adds that Jack just asked him to look after her and the kids when he is gone. They hug.
Meanwhile, Jack is upstairs reading his assisted suicide book, when Lexie arrives. He tells her his left arm is completely numb. She checks it out, but he has no feeling in it, & she tells him he is worse, the disease (which shall remain unmentioned, of course!) is progressing more rapidly. He tells her being left-handed makes it very awkward for him. She realizes he is contemplating suicide, tries to talk him against it, and mentions calling in a pain med prescription. He does not want to take any pain meds, and begs Lexie to not allow an autopsy after he is gone, so Jen would not know anything. Lexie replies that is not her call. She leaves, and Jack watches from the window as Jennifer & Frankie hug. He tells himself everything is falling into place….and suddenly gets a huge pain spasm, falling to the floor. He crawls to the bed, gasping, and picks up the suicide book, saying Yes, I see my time finally is up.
ON THE PENTHOUSE BALCONY, John tells Marlena that his love for Kate is like hers for Roman – it will always be there, but his life is with Marlena. John continues to try and convince Marlena to get Alex out of the house, but Marlena wants proof that John still loved her, even though thinking she was dead, when he got involved with Kate. (huh?). Alex comes out, glad she still has doubts, as he has proof that John has been lying to her. Alex has papers in hand (faxed to him, even that late at night, amazing!!!), evidence that John had Marlena declared legally dead just a few months after her “demise” AND had signed her insurance policy over to Kate! John explains about her strapping him to the raft, and being swept away by the sea as he looked on helplessly, unable to do a thing. He talks of the others who “died” at the same time, and how no one thought any of them could have survived. In regards to the insurance policy, Kate signed the check as an officer at Basic Black, and John tells her the money went into an off-shore trust account for her 3 children, Eric, Sami & Belle. (glad to hear Eric mentioned at last). Marlena then asks John with whom he’d like to spend the rest of his life, Kate or her. Freeze frame on John’s face, as the previews show
Billie to Sami with a smirking Nicole looking on: You are delusional if you think my brother is still interested in you
Alex to Marlena: The only one who can love and cherish you the way you should be cared for is me
Philip to Shawn: If there is anyone who can help Belle with her post partum depression, it is Mimi
Mimi to Belle: Belle, I want to apologize

Episode #: 10183 Directed by: Herb Stein
Tape Date: 10/5/05
SUMMARY: Shawn and Belle have an honest heart to heart chat about their current circumstances, Mimi has a dream (Mimi/Shawn fans will love her fantasy); Marlena and John also have an honest discussion while Alex tries to win Kate as an ally.
THE LOFT

Shawn walks around with baby Claire, putting her to sleep while talking to her sweetly as Belle watches enviously. He tells Claire how beautiful she is and how lucky she is to have Belle as her mommy. He takes Claire to the basket in his room to sleep and returns saying Claire is down and Belle figures she should get her daughter and take her home then. Shawn suggests Belle take advantage of the opportunity to go home and sleep. In tears, Belle figures she should take him up on that opportunity, calling herself an awful wife and mother for wanting that. Shawn rationalizes that Belle’s had a lot going on in her life over the last year. He makes her laugh when saying how newborns can be a challenge as they seem to cry and make smelly messes a lot. He knows she’ll be happy with her new daughter and husband after things settle down. She tells him she wants him to be happy too, just not with Mimi as she’s afraid she’d lose him forever and she can’t lose him forever. He asks if she means as a couple and she denies that. He assures her that he’d always be her friend. She wonders if it was a mistake to ask Mimi to be Claire’s Godmother if she won’t be around. Shawn says he’ll always be around, but he will find someone and have a family. She breaks down and admits she wants him to be happy, but she doesn’t think she could stand to watch him be happy with anyone but her. If she can’t have him, she’ll have to let him go. He tells her he has to accept he can’t have Belle and if Mimi insists she can’t be with him because she can’t have children, he’ll have to accept that too.
AT ST. LUKES…Mimi prays to the Madonna and child statue, saying she can’t forgive herself for what she did, how can she expect God to, now or ever. She hears a voice saying..I’m sorry Miriam, that just isn’t true. She turns and looks around, not seeing anyone, thinking she is going crazy…calling out if anyone’s there. She hears the voice again telling her to be still and the statue comes to life, telling her not to be frightened and for her to come sit next to her…they need to talk. She offers to pinch Mimi if she needs proof it’s real. Mimi cries confessing she had an abortion and didn’t tell her boyfriend and now can’t have any children. Why would any man want anything to do with her? Mary tells her to stop wallowing with pity in what she can’t have and think about what she can have. Mimi dreams about being with Shawn and back to her happy self. She sees them sitting on the couch, now married and a little older with him in dress shirt and tie and her remembering how she had thought she had to give birth to her children to be complete. Her mom gave birth to her children and look what happened? She tells Shawn she knew they said they’d stop at four, but….and he smiles saying he’d adopt another 10 if she wanted, but they would have to move out of the loft (LOL). She knows they’re all so blessed and what would their children have done without them too? She and Shawn talk about their four children (sounds like all daughters) and how much they love them. Shawn takes her into his arms, saying he loves her too and they kiss. Back to reality Mimi tells Mary how beautiful her baby is and Mary agrees, saying she was so blessed. There are no do overs in life, but there are second chances. She assures Mimi that God does forgive her, that’s what he does, and all she has to do now is to forgive herself. Can she do that? Mimi understands that she must forgive herself if God has, as he knows best and she must love herself before she can expect others to. Mary is pleased and smiles, telling her to do so. Mimi wakes up on the pew and looks at the statue, wondering if it was a dream. She kneels at the altar and thanks the statue for making her realize she must forgive herself and maybe she and Shawn can be happy after all.
AT THE PENTHOUSE…

While John and Marlena talk outside on the terrace, inside Alex tells Kate he needs proof to show Marlena why they should end up together. Kate gave him an idea and he goes to the computer typing away, thanking her for the idea that honesty is the key. She asks him if it was love at first site and he smiles, not knowing if he could call it that. He tells Kate that Marlena is very unique and he realizes that Marlena is the love of John’s life…but if Marlena decides to stay with him (Alex), John would be available for Kate. Kate doesn’t want John to be “available” for her, she wants him happy. Knowing that Alex came out of semi-retirement to help Marlena, she figures he had a bond with her before even meeting her and asked if he’s working for the DiMeras. He denies working for the DiMeras, or for anyone else. He knows John’s had him thoroughly checked out and his life is an open book. He finishes his search on the computer and hopefully the results will come back as he hopes. Alex can tell Kate still cares for John by watching her body language. She tells him he’s reading her body all wrong and she and John are right…he’s a lousy psychiatrist. He tells her she’s lousy at playing noble and suggests she become his ally…he knows she must be tempted. Kate remembers her and John kissing passionately in the shower as Alex once again asks if she wants to become his ally. She refuses to help him and says she and John clung to each other due to what was happening and she helped him through a difficult time, but she always knew how he felt about Marlena. Alex reiterates how John will be available when he gets Marlena back.
John and Marlena chat on the terrace. She admits having deep feelings for John, but doesn’t know if they’re as strong as his for her. She doesn’t know what happened and how she ended up pregnant with her ex husband’s child. John explains how she and Roman were held captive and manipulated by Tony and Stefano DiMera. Stefano’s name rings a bell and she remembers that name as being associated with the Phoenix and how he arose from the ashes. She asks if it’s possible that he has arisen and alive out there someplace. She asks if he thinks Alex works for the DiMeras. John had Alex checked out and doesn’t believe so. She admits having a sense of comfort and trust with Alex and relieved. John reminds her that Alex is responsible for putting the negative thoughts of him in her head though. He closes the door and Marlena said she can’t believe that Alex is manipulating her. If she loved him so much, why didn’t she tell him about the baby? He explains about the situation being awkward as he and
Kate had just gotten engaged. She wonders if she felt that maybe he loved Kate more than her. John, like Kate, says they got together because she and Roman were gone. She asks if he loved Kate and tear drops start falling from his eyes. She repeats herself that she needs an answer if he loved Kate. He says yes. She asks if he still loves her now and when John starts to say anything, she urges him not to answer without some thought if he’s still in love with Kate... we see Kate peering out at them through the terrace door….as the previews roll…Jennifer to Frankie: “It’s almost like he handpicked you to take his place.”
Frankie: “He did.”
Lexie to Jack: “Your condition has worsened even since the last time I saw you.”
Mimi to Shawn: “There can be somebody after Rex.”
Shawn: “Who do you mean, me?”
Mimi nods yes.
Alex (to John, Marlena and Kate): I’m glad to see that you’re reserving judgement. I have the proof that John’s been lying to you.

Tape Date: 10/04/05
Air Date: 11/7/05
Director: Phil Sogard
Summary: Sami keeps an eye on Austin and Nicole…Mimi seeks forgiveness from a higher power…Belle visits Shawn…Marlena invites John over and he drags Kate along.
At Chez Rouge…Sami sees Austin and Nicole together and is fuming. Maggie tries to stop her but she barges on over to their table. Austin asks her to leave them alone, they are discussing business. Sami thinks that Nicole has another agenda and they begin to snipe back and forth until Austin tells them to stop it. He says this is NOT a game and he is NOT the prize (lol…booby prize is more like it). They continue until Austin loses it and tells them that he has had enough…his business is not turning into an imaginary love triangle. Austin and Nicole decide to leave. Sami mutter that Nicole may have won the battle but not the war and starts to whip out her cell phone. Maggie walks up and tells her that she is making a mistake. She asks her about still being in love with Lucas but Sami says he doesn’t want her and she can’t chase after him and that she just cannot let Nicole get her hooks into Austin…he deserves better. LOL…as Maggie’s silence speaks volumes. Sami says she has lost too much already. Maggie thinks she is being too dramatic and tells her not to put herself in the position she was in between Mickey and Bonnie. She thinks that if Sami just steps back, the competition will self-destruct. But Sami doesn’t agree and says she must do something and leaves in a huff. She follows Nicole and Austin and hides in the bushes to eavesdrop on them. As they sit on a bench, Nicole starts questioning him again about his true love and asks if Sami is the one he came back for. But he won’t talk about it and says he is focused on his career for the moment. She asks if this woman knows that he loves her and by his vague answer, she is even more confused. Sami listens as Nicole says if SHE is the girl he is interested in, that is great…but if it is Sami, she will just have to show him how wrong she is for him. They hear a noise in the bushes and Austin says probably a squirrel or some other animal, but as Nicole looks more closely (and sees Sami) she says it is more like a bitch in heat. (LOL). Austin goes to get a paper as Nicole yanks her out of the bushes asking why she is following them. Sami says she can’t trust her and that Nicole will probably try to get Austin to fire her. They argue and Sami threatens to tell everyone about Nicole and the (so-called) flesh-eating bacteria she used on Chloe. Then Austin will see what a monster she is. They argue some more and then Nicole sees Austin coming back and shoves Sami back into the bushes. Nicole offers to buy Austin ice cream, but one problem…she has no money. Austin says all that will change soon as they go off arm in arm. Sami crawls out of the bushes and brushes herself off with a determined look on her face.
At the Lofts…Belle can’t sleep and is making tea, but she keeps having fantasies (or are they flashbacks?...I don’t watch enough lately to know) of talking with Shawn about her condition, husband and new baby. Across the hall, Mimi is moping around, saying that there is no future for her and Shawn. He comes in and tells her that Claire is asleep and she apologizes for not being any help. She has a flashback of her dream (with the little Mimi’s). She tells him that she is ashamed about her behavior and that they would never work out…he belongs with someone else. She tells him that he needs to find a woman who can make him happy. But Shawn thinks that they should just date and have fun and see if anything comes of it. But she says that they can never be and storms out in tears. Belle sees her leave and goes over to Shawn’s loft. When he answers the door (thinking it’s Mimi returning) she asks if he is disappointed that it is her. She tells him that she saw Mimi leave upset and asks what was wrong. He doesn’t want to discuss it, but finally tells her that Mimi was upset because she doesn’t want anything to happen between them and the fact that she can’t have a baby. He tells her that Mimi keeps beating herself up and Belle says that she is right…Mimi is wrong for him…she and Mimi both know him very well and he wouldn’t be happy. She begins to cry and asks him if he hates her. He says no, he doesn’t hate her or blame her and they hug as tears roll down her cheeks. Claire cries as Shawn goes to get her and Belle sits on the sofa and cries.
At St. Lukes…Mimi goes there to pray and is joined by Father Jansen who sees her distress and offers to hear her confession. But she says she can never be forgiven. He counsels her and tells her that God forgives everything but she says she did something terribly wrong. He tells her That God will forgive but she must forgive herself as well before the healing can begin. After he leaves, she kneels at the altar and cries, saying that if she can’t forgive herself she can never be with Shawn.
At the Penthouse…Alex is still talking with Marlena as Peeping John is still watching them (LOL…wonder if he can pick up HBO on that dish?). Marlena tells Alex that she plans to stay with John as he whips out the magic charm and tells her that she can’t do that. (His back is to the terrace, so John doesn’t see the charm). John and Kate are listening as they jokingly say it sounds like Alex is trying to hypnotize Marlena. Marlena tells Alex that everytime she is with John or looks at his picture, she has flashes of memory but is having trouble tying them all together. Alex begins to lose patience, this noticed by Kate and John. He continues to dangle the charm but she seemingly ignores it and tells him that she wants to work things out with John (Hey Alex, maybe you need a BIGGER charm? LOL) and needs to talk with him. A thrilled John takes the cue and calls. Marlena answers the phone instantly beams hearing John’s voice as Alex fumes in the background. Marlena tells him that she wants to talk to him and he says he will be right over. John asks Kate to tag along to help keep an eye on Alex so they leave. They arrive at the penthouse as Marlena is a bit surprised to see Kate there as well. Kate says that she is also concerned about Marlena. Marlena tells John that she was having memory flashes and wanted to talk to him. John asks Kate to keep Alex “entertained” as he and Marlena talk PRIVATELY on the terrace. Kate tells Alex that she just wants to see John and Marlena work things out but he isn’t buying it and says he thinks that she is still in love with John. On the terrace, Marlena tells John about Father Jansen’s visit and he admits to asking him to come over. She smiles and says she figured as much and is grateful. He tells her that he is glad she has changed her mind about the divorce and she asks how he knew that. Alex barges out and says that John must have the place bugged and that John is deceiving her. (Well so much for Kate keeping him ‘entertained’). John and Alex get nose to nose as John tells him that this is a PRIVATE conversation and orders him back inside. After he goes back inside, John covers his slip and tells Marlena that he is concerned about her as is the rest of her family. Marlena says she just must decide who to believe. John tells her that he still loves her and she says that she hopes that Alex is wrong. Back inside, Kate tells Alex that John seems to be making progress. But Alex accuses her of still having the hots for John, which of course, she denies, saying John loves Marlena. Alex asks Kate why she asked John to move in with her and she says he is a friend and she is just helping him out of a difficult situation. Kate says that Marlena WILL get her memory back and when she does, she and John will be together…he should just accept it. John talks about how Alex is manipulating Marlena and he apologizes for ever bringing him into her life. He talks about how they share a great love and how they have overcome may obstacles and they will come through this one as well. Kate and Alex continue to spar and then out of the blue, Alex thanks her for something she said. He says he now knows what he must do. Kate asks what he is up to but he plays innocent and tells her that she shouldn’t count herself out just yet…she could still end up with John. John talks about their love as Marlena asks where do they go from here. John tells her to just have faith in him…they WILL be together…forever. They hug as Alex watches…and the previews show…Mimi (crying): There is no forgiveness for me…as a voice says: I’m sorry Miriam, but that just isn’t true…
Belle (to Shawn): I just don’t think I can stand the thought of seeing you spend the rest of your life with anyone but me…
Alex (to Kate): So, what do you say?...will you be my ally?...
Marlena (to John): So, were you in love with Kate?...as a single tear rolls down his cheek…
And the credits roll…

Episode #: 10181Directed by: Jim Baffico
Tape Date: 10/3/05
Nothing special tomorrow...John calls in the ISA and Father Jansen for his quest for Marlena, Jack convinces Jennifer he'll do what she wants him to do, Mimi's conscience continues to fight with itself.
AT THE BOOKSTORE….
HEALING NATURES WAY is the book Jack’s buying and Jennifer’s thrilled he’s finally listening to her, although she can’t understand why he’s shopping for it in the middle of the night (hmmm…it’s only 8 pm at the Penthouse as you’ll find out later). Frankie privately tells Jack that he doesn’t buy it and asks Jack what he’s really doing there. Jack admits to Frankie that he doesn’t believe the vitamin regime will help, but Jennifer does and if it’ll make her feel they did everything they could, he’ll do it. She returns with several more books, encouraged that it’ll give him some extra time if nothing else. She’d take every minute more she can with him and is determined that they’ll enjoy every second of it doing whatever he wants to do. She’ll comfort and love him through it all as she’s not ready to lose him yet. He agrees with her on that. She leaves to do something and Frankie tells Jack he’s such a good actor and can’t tell when he’s telling the truth or not. Jack vows he’ll haunt Frankie if he doesn’t follow through on what he promised to do. Jennifer walks up and says she knows exactly what’s going on when Jack points out she looks like she’s seen a ghost. She tells him the salesperson showed her the book that Jack had asked him to hold for her about Grieving a Loss. She hugs him, thanking him for caring about his family so much. Jack blurts out that he’ll do whatever she thinks is needed, but will also be realistic about what’s happening. She asks Frankie for a minute alone with Jack and he steps outside. She hands Jack all the books and tells him to pay for them while she and Frankie get the car. Alone, he tells himself that he’s sorry, but it’s not in the cards. The salesman tells him his father insists they keep the suicide book, but he doesn’t agree about it. Jack defends his position. The sales clerk will only accept cash (ouch, who carries that much cash any more?)
AT THE LOFTS….

Shawn rushes to Mimi’s side as she collapses on the floor. Later he helps her up to the couch and she says she’s fine. He apologizes for not thinking how hard taking care of Claire might be on her being she can’t have children of her own. He tries to convince her she could have gotten an infection from any medical problem and not to blame herself. Mimi feels bad that she couldn’t even pick up Claire and hold her because she was thinking of her own problems. He has her lie on the couch and relax as Claire starts cooing and coughing. He carries her basket upstairs, saying she’ll sleep in his room. Mimi talks to herself falling asleep as we see evil and good Mimi bicker on the sofa arm above her about if Mimi and Shawn can be a good couple and have adopted children. Mimi wakes up, wondering where they went and says Shawn’s name. He comes out, now with a t-shirt on, and asks what she was dreaming about. He leaves to change Claire as Mimi tells herself there’s no future with Shawn because she’s such a loser.
THE SALEM INN…AND THE PENTHOUSE….John tells Kate what happened at Alices, trying to figure out what happened. He contacted the one person who he figured would be able to convince Doc not to file for a divorce. He opens the door to Father Jansen who agrees to help and leaves. John tells Kate how his shoulders are so tight and in knots, so she starts to massage them, assuring him she’s just helping and it’s not foreplay.
Alex and Marlena return to the Penthouse where he’s anxious to return to work without interruptions. Marlena admits having memory flashes at Alices. He tries to convince her that John’s doing what he really is doing, planting memories in Marlena’s mind. Fingering the necklace, he tells her the healthiest thing she can do is file for a divorce. She should be with the man who’s loved her longer and more than anyone else. She asks if that’s him and he says yes. If she wants to be happy, she needs to put John Black behind her and move on with him. She picks up a picture (apparent of John), commenting how happy he looks. He turns on some music (I could barely hear it) and she asks him to turn it off as she has a headache. She excuses herself to get ready for bed and he offers to make some soothing chamomile tea for her (with an added ingredient I bet) and she accepts, heading upstairs. He can’t understand why he can’t erase her memories of John Black and wonders what’s causing it. (I think the clock chimed, but not sure) as he holds the little bottle of drugs to put in her tea. She returns ready for bed and sips the tea as the clock chimes (yikes…it’s only 8:15 pm???) and remembers John and her kissing. She can’t believe it, she remembered she tells him. He urges her to drink her tea, but she isn’t thirsty. The tea slips and spills on them. He’s frustrated, wanting to stop her memories from returning. Father Jansen arrives while Marlena was in the kitchen drying off the tea and although Alex does his best to get rid of him, Marlena walks in and insists she talk alone with her priest. John watches from the window with her binoculars and tells Kate that he called the ISA for some back up. Knock knock, an agent arrives with a suitcase and tells Kate she doesn’t know where John got this, right? He tells John he’s got all the fire power he needs there. Kate assures him her daughter is ISA (and she’s such an active ISA operative too, LOL) and understands. John signs for the bag and the agent leaves. John opens the suitcase and Kate says Oh My God. We later see it’s the most high tech listening and watching device there is. John tells Kate he planted the transmitter at the penthouse while he and Frankie were over supposedly protesting the divorce.
We see Father Jansen reminding Marlena how her and John’s marriage vows are sacred. The clock chimes again and she remembers when John gave it to her. She tells Father Jansen that John loves her and he reminds her how God gave her the strength and commitment and she needs to be a willing participant in the partnership…citing the last phrase of the marriage vows about let no man put asunder. She wipes tears from her eyes as she thanks him for coming to see her and lets him out. She picks up John’s picture and looks at it as Alex comes in from the terrace. He asks what Father Jansen said that upset her (as John overhears and mentally coaches Marlena to tell him it’s none of his business, LOL). Marlena tells Alex that she’s going to stay married to John and faithful to him. She asks Alex to have the lawyer rescind the divorce papers…..as John breathes a sigh of relief, knowing she’d finally see the light…with a split screen of a weeping Marlena and a smiling John…as the previews roll…
Mimi tells herself she could never be with Shawn
Shawn tells Belle that Mimi thinks they can never be together because she can’t give him a child and she’s wrong. Belle says “No, Mimi’s right”.
Alex to Marlena (with John standing there): I was right, he’s deceiving you.”
Nicole to Austin: Of course I want to closer in every way.
Austin: “It sounds that way.”
Nicole: “ If it’s another woman, not Sami, I’ll just have to show you how wrong she is for you.”

Episode # 10180Tape Date: 9/30/05
Air Date: 11/3/05
Director: Roger Inman
Summary: Sami makes one more play for Lucas before giving up…Nicole makes a play for Austin…Jack sneaks off in the middle of the night, followed by Jennifer…Hope and Bo have a “discussion” over finances. (If you need to skip a show, this is the one).
At the Brady House…Hope is busy trying to balance the checkbook and worries that they are over budget, because of Bo’s little gifts to Chelsea. She asks him not to make a habit of it, but he says he can’t promise that. He says if she needs his help financially, he will be there. But he promises to talk to her about responsibility. Hope thinks that Billie should be helping shoulder the burden of her daughter as well and she is just afraid that Chelsea is using Bo. But he refuses to believe that, determined to help her out when he can. Hope thinks he is spoiling her and even applauds Billie for not wanting to do that. She fears that he will only be hurting Chelsea in the long run. They finally come to a compromise when he says he will have a talk with her. Back to the laptop, Hope has an email from one of her school friends who has a son the same age as Shawn. Her son is going to law school as well, so this sends Hope off on another tangent about Shawn dropping out of school. Bo assures her that Shawn will be okay and besides, he can make good money as a mechanic. Hope says it isn’t about the money OR being a mechanic…she just wants him to have an education. She says she is not going to let it go and is determined he will get an education. Bo says Shawn has to make his own decisions but she says she only wants what’s best for him. A sleepy Zack comes down asking why they are fighting as Bo takes him back to bed. Hope wonders what’s happening to them. Bo tucks Zack into bed and he wants a story…NOT a Curious George…one, but a “made up” one. Bo starts with “once upon a time…” and tells him about the prince of Salem and his princess bride who he loves…and their tiny prince. He talks about how sometimes they disagree, but they always love each other, as Hope stands in the doorway smiling. At Lucas’s Apartment…Sami grabs Lucas and kisses him. Lucas tries to deny his feelings, saying he just cannot forgive and forget (as Will listens). She says that Austin believes in her, but Lucas says Austin is crazy (LOL). She begs for forgiveness but Lucas says he can’t forgive all her lies, he has made up his mind and no one can change it. Will comes storming out and yells “what about me?” Sami wants to hear him out and he says he thinks they still love each other and they should do whatever it takes to work it out. He says if she had believed and trusted in Lucas’s love, she wouldn’t have ended up in this mess. Sami promises to do whatever it takes to earn their trust again. But Lucas says he can’t go down that road again, it’s over. There is a knock at the door and he opens it to find Sophie, who says she couldn’t wait to get her hands on him and kisses him (as Will and Sami stare in shock). Lucas explains that they are going out to celebrate his new job. As they leave, ‘Streets of Love’ plays. Sami thanks Will for his support and suggests they do something together, but he says he has homework and storms off and Sami leaves in tears. Sami ends up in the park crying alone when she is joined by a vagrant woman. The woman (Janet) tells her (if her man is like HERS) he will never take her back. As she sips from her flask, she advises Sami to let it go and move on, as he has done. She tells her not to end up like her and then she leaves. Sami thinks maybe she is right, if Lucas can move on, so can she. So she picks herself up and dusts herself off.
At Chez Rouge…Nicole and Austin are there as she is having flashbacks of talking to Austin about his love life (or lack thereof, as he says) and his leaving his heart in Salem. She wonders who he came back for. They talk about working together and her life after Brady. He tells her the real reason he brought her there was to talk about their future, which puts a sparkle in her eye. But he is talking about work, praising her for her hard work. He talks about taking things further and leans over and kisses her (in her dreams of course). She snaps out of her fantasy as he drones on about work and she says that work IS her life now, since Brady left. She talks about him dumping her when Chloe came back. Austin talks about being in love and how he left his heart in Salem and couldn’t come back until he knew she was available (any guesses who he’s talking about? LOL). Nicole is racking her brain trying to figure out if he is talking about her or Sami (BUZZ…wrong answer...neither one*). She asks him about it, but he is vague and won’t tell her who he is talking about, saying he learned to keep his mouth shut, until the time is right. He offers her a dance as a consolation. While they are dancing, Lucas and Sophie arrive. She apologizes for interrupting his visit with Sami earlier, but he says it’s okay. He explains that Sami was trying to get back together, but that is over and there is no chance of that. He sees Austin and Nicole dancing and is shocked. So they high-tail it out of there. Outside, she says there is something she wants to do…kiss him…without his ex watching. So she lays a big one on him and they leave. Of course, Sami is lurking in the bushes and comments that now she NEEDS a drink and goes inside. Austin and Nicole have finished their dance and head for their table, when she trips and falls into his arms. Sami sees this and says “no way, Nicole…you are not getting away with this.”
At the Deveraux House…Jack and Jen are asleep in bed when the phone rings. Jack quickly answers it and promises the caller to call right back. He goes outside to place the call as Jen wakes up, looking for him. He talks to someone about assisted suicide and someone that can help him, so he writes down the address and takes off. After he is gone, Jen comes outside looking for him. Frankie rushes up behind and grabs her, thinking it was a burglar. She tells him about Jack sneaking off and they find a piece of paper on the ground with an address. Jack arrives at the place to meet with someone and has second thoughts. But the creepy old man opens the door and tells him to come in “death awaits”. Jack goes in and comments that the place reminds him of ‘Harry Potter’. Even though it is a bookstore, the man is clueless as to who that is. Jack explains that he was referred to him by an assisted suicide hotline. The man says he understands…he came there to die. He explains that he is the only bookstore who carries books on that subject and tells him that there ARE other options. But Jack says this is the way to go for him. Meanwhile, Jen and Frankie have arrived outside, wondering what Jack is doing there. She hugs Frankie, thanking him for coming with her. The man comes back and gives Jack some books, the top on reading “Compassion to the End: Assisted Suicide”. Jack says this is it…just what he was looking for. Jen and Frankie come in as she asks what he is doing there and (startled) Jack drops the books. She picks up the books and stares in shock, saying she can’t believe he is doing this…as the previews show…
Mimi (to Shawn): What kind of monster am I?...You must think I am a horrible person…You must have lost all respect for me…
Man (to John): You are going to have a lot more power than you need… (John): Yea, it’s really going to blow him away…
Jack (to Jen): What’s wrong?...you look like you have seen a ghost. (Jen): I know exactly what’s going on…
Marlena (to Alex): I am going to stay faithful to John…I’m going to honor my wedding vows. (Alex): WHAT?...
And the credits roll…

Episode #10,179 Taped 9/29
Director – Phil Sogard
Not much of a show, since we have seen & heard much of the dialogue before. Philip tries to deal with his crying wife, Shawn with a nervous Mimi, and Austin with his two employees.
WILL arrives home from Arthur’s party, looking upset and goes straight to his room. Lucas asks what is wrong, and tho Will is reluctant at first, he finally tells his dad what won the best costume at the party, showing him a box with “Stan’s” picture on it. He rants on about how this is the 2nd Halloween, where people have come dressed like his mother and calls her the Lizzie Borden of Salem. Lucas tries to calm him down, saying that tho his mother has done rash things, she has never meant to hurt him, and loves him very much. Will tells his dad it sounds like you still love her, and Lucas admits that is so.
SAMI is looking at a picture of herself with Lucas & Will, and imagines Lucas coming in, saying he still loves her. Nicole comes out (O.K. when did Sami’s place get so huge? She had this 2 bd.rm. with a tiny living room/kitchen combo, which is now a vast room and a 3rd bd.rm. appeared. Amazing. What did they do, knock down a wall to the place next door? Lol) Nicole berates Sami for daydreaming, and gives her a file containing names of contacts she wants put into the computer. Sami says she will do it in the morning. Not good enough for Nicole, who says to do it NOW. They begin to argue, with Sami complaining who works at this hour. They begin to argue loudly. Cue Austin to walk out with towel wrapped around him, ordering them to cease and desist, and comment that perhaps he made a mistake, and should never have hired the two of them. He goes to get dressed, returning later to find both gals at opposite ends of the sofa. He tells them he will fire them both if they do not get along, then asks Sami what happened. As she begins to explain, Nicole keeps butting in, they start having words again, and he asks Nik to leave the room. Sami tells him she was thinking about Lucas, Austin tells her she has to move on, but she lets him know how she bumped into Lucas in the hall, & he really did tell her he still loves her. Nicole eavesdrops on every word. Austin asks her for the contact file, she promises to get the info into the computer, but is going to take the garbage out, and maybe stop at Lucas’s. Austin says o.k. She leaves. Nik comes out, pretending not to have heard anything, and asks questions. Soon, she is talking of how they used to tell each other everything, etc. etc. and Nicole realizes Austin still cares about someone. She goes on & on, pestering him about the who, then smiles saying she knows it must be herself. (no conceit in that girl, is there, lol) Austin wants to go get something to eat…and goes to change clothes (3rd outfit in 5 minutes, lol).
LUCAS talks with Will about his mom, assuring him that she has always loved him, and never meant for him to get hurt. Cue Sami to come in, agreeing and asking Lucas for another chance at being a family. He asks Will to leave the room, and then tells Sami no way. She protests that he still loves her, and she loves him. He agrees, but tells her that she always makes promises she never keeps. As soon as she decides to get revenge on someone, she goes at it, and gives no thought to repercussions, and as much as her family and friends have talked to her about this, she still forges on, and everyone around her gets hurt. He tells her how the Halloween party was ruined for Will, and she protests she was not even there, so could not have anything to do with whatever happened there. Lucas grabs the Halloween costume box, showing her what won the prize. Sami admits that she had not thought out her latest escapade to the end, but never meant for anyone to get hurt. They are yelling, and Will is eavesdropping. Lucas tells her that he is moving on, has learned the hard way it is the thing to do, and she should do the same. He has tears in his eyes, as does Sami, who protests that they both love each other. Will comes out into the room, as Sami, in the heat of the moment, grabs Lucas and kisses him passionately.
BELLE is crying, wondering what is wrong with her, why does she feel this way. Philip tries to comfort her. She bemoans not wanting to go down to take care of the baby, when she heard it crying. Philip soothes her, telling her the baby stopped crying, and that Shawn & Mimi have taken her with them to their apt. Belle has a fit, but Philip again calms her down. She complains of being so tired, but not being able to sleep, so Phil offers to draw a nice, hot, bubble bath for her. He goes to the bathroom to start the water, while Belle berates herself. She sits on edge of bed, then imagines she hears a baby crying, grabs the bottle of pills, pouring out a handful. Philip comes out, grabs them away from her, warning her that she just took one. Belle protests she probably needs a 2nd one, as she feels no better. Philip assures her that it takes a while for the medication to build up in her system. He takes her into the bathroom, helping her into the tub. She lays back, closes her eyes, and fantasizes Shawn being there. (And once more, cue the Rolling Stones singing Streets of Love as background music) She continues to berate herself to him, as he talks of moving on, how she has said she loves Philip and they have a baby. She tells him she doesn’t love Philip the same way she loves him, and that he should be the father of Claire. She then continues to berate herself to the fantasy Shawn, who morphs into Philip as she is saying what kind of mother am I, to regret having my own child. Philip holds her, as she cries.
MIMI is holding baby Claire, as they enter their apt. and begs Shawn to take the baby. He does, as she nervously says she will put the porta crib together, and babbles on and on about it. She brings over what looks like a small bassinette, but calls a bouncy seat (?) and Shawn puts the sleeping baby in it, mentioning he will now go for a shower. Mimi panics and says no, he cannot leave. They talk of her problem with babies, and how she still cannot forgive herself for having the abortion. Shawn tells her she will get over this in time, will have a wonderful family, will adopt, etc. She calms down, telling him to go take his shower, she will be fine. He leaves the room, she decides to pick up a bit around the place, and as she looks at Claire, (it is a doll) the eyes open wide. Mimi is startled, then Claire begins to cry, and Mimi panics again. She tries to shush the baby, will not touch her, yells for Shawn, who finally comes running out. She urges him to pick up the baby, barely getting out the words, and as he holds a crying Claire, Mimi gasps, then crumbles to the floor in a dead faint. And the previews show…..
Hope to Bo: Shawn will get an education, even if I have to drag him every day to Salem U until he graduates.
Austin: If we took things a bit further. Nicole: What do you mean, a bit further. They are then kissing.
Sophie: I couldn’t wait another minute to get my hands on you. Sophie & Lucas kiss, with Sami apparently seeing them.
Jennifer to Jack: Oh, my gosh, I can’t believe you are doing this
And the credits roll.
