Episode: 10,391
Directed by Phil Sogard
Tape Date: 8/3/06
Written by: James Reilly

It’s a new day in Salem as we find our top cops talking shop (hallelujah); Sami and EJ chat about what happened and Lucas and Austin have breakfast at the pub, also trying to figure out what happened.

COP SHOP
We find John and Abe discussing the preliminary autopsy report on Eve. She had been shot in both the abdomen and chest at close range and her badge was missing. Tek arrives (apparently he left the church stakeout and went off duty) and just learns about the shooting (can’t believe it didn’t hit the media). Tek explains he left before forensics showed up. (you would think a cop being shot would have had all the cops on alert, wouldn’t you?) He turned the investigation over to Detective Post when he pursued the man he saw. He lost track of the person, so at sunset went off duty to join his “friend”. Abe snorts, so you left the investigation to join Lexie. Tek tells them that Lexie knew about a threatening call Sami got minutes before her wedding. Both John and Abe are surprised to hear this and Tek explains how Sami and EJ went to Lexie’s house to accuse her of making the call. Abe can’t understand why Sami would think Lexie would do that. John says “telegram” and there’s something Abe needs to know. Abe learns that Lexie’s threatening phone call warned her that something would happen to Abe and Theo if she told. Abe is shocked, but mostly because Lexie didn’t have the decency to warn him that his life as well as her son’s was in danger. Tek pleads Lexie’s case, saying how worried she was. He tells him about Lexie’s fear that the Brady’s were in danger and that’s why he surrounded the church. Abe is furious and says he can’t forget Lexie’s past as a Dimera and can’t be trusted. Tek loses it and rushes Abe, grabbing his jacket and calling him a son of a bitch..threating to kill him if he talks about Lexie like that again (ouch…not good for job security Tekmeister!) Abe calmly orders the Detective to let go of him and John says it was a bad move Tek (ya think?) and Tek leaves.

John smooths Abe’s jacket and tells “Abraham” it’s a tense situation they’re dealing with and Abe says Detective Kramer is the least of his problems. Roman joins them and they had reviewed the surveillance tapes. They found something and Abe’s not going to like it. Roman shows the video clips of Lexie sneaking into St. Lukes, slipping off to the back watching what’s happening, then slipping out. Roman apologizes to Abe, but says they have to treat Lexie like a suspect and Abe understands, saying she’s a Dimera. Dimeras hate the Bradys and Lexie hates Sami. Abe asks Roman to remember that Lexie is Theo’s mother and Roman understands, saying that’s why he feels Abe should be the one to conduct the investigation (NOT!). Abe laughs, saying he can’t be serious because he wants him to investigate his almost ex wife. Roman and John figure Abe has the closest inside track to her. Abe says he can’t interrogate her over a long drawn out candlelight dinner, but they disagree. Abe’s shocked they want him to start dating Lexie. While they don’t believe Lexie did it, they have to eliminate her as a suspect. They need to find out why she was sneaking around the church. Abe asks what he does with her after finding out if she’s not guilty…toss her out like yesterday’s news? John tells Abe that’s up to him. Roman tells Abe he has to do it for both Theo and himself.

AT THE PUB OVER BREAKFAST
Lucas joins a puzzled Austin at the pub. Usually it’s Sami who’s left at the alter and Austin’s not clear what happened. Lucas is wise enough to know there’s more to this as to why Sami didn’t marry the man of her dreams. Lucas says how Sami’s changed lately and into the karma thing and Austin’s responsible for bringing out this change in her. Austin is concerned as he could tell Sami was almost scared when she ran out of the church. Lucas ponders this and wonders if this is a test for Austin to prove how much he loves her, citing how her dad abandoned her when she was young and Stefano broke up her family, etc. Maybe she’s insecure about his feelings for Carrie. Lucas has one last suspicion and Austin demands to know what it is. Lucas says, EJ. He figures it was him, going on about how EJ’s always there for Sami, like a white knight, reminding him how he warned Austin about treating Sami right the night before his wedding. They talk about how everyone thought she was incorrectly with Brandon the night before her wedding with Lucas, but it was only Lucas she wanted. The two guys rehash what happened, remembering how EJ even drove her to the church. Austin feels there’s more to EJ that stopped Sami from marrying him. Lucas figures it was Carrie and Austin needs to convince Sami it’s over with Carrie and him. Lexie arrives to order some take out and tells Austin that Sami leaving him at the altar was the best thing that could have happened to him. Lucas tells Lexie this is not what his brother needs to hear now and Lexie apologizes, then refers to Sami as a witch. Both defend Sami, understanding why Lexie is not Sami’s biggest fan. Lexie spits back that if they had the slightest inkling about Sami and tries to leave with her order, but they demand a response. She claims to the way Sami blackmailed her, threatening to tell Abe about Tek, citing how Sami held it over her head day and night. Austin knows there’s more and Lexie says she’ll tell them. It’s her medical opinion that Sami is pathologically disturbed and he should be glad she’s out of his life. Lucas reminds Lexie that she’s not a psychiatrist and doesn’t know that. Lexie rambles on about Sami’s traits and Austin interrupts hearing enough, glad she had the decency not to come to the wedding. Lexie tells Austin she adores him, but deserves to be with the woman he loves and should be with. Lucas interrupts saying the woman should be with is Sami. Lexie asks Austin to give up Sami and Lucas rants that Austin and Sami will be back together today and leaves.

SAMI’S APARTMENT
We find Sami on a couch crying when a man slips into the room (we also see a note had been pushed under the door) and stands in front of her and she screams. Turns out it was just EJ with a tray of food. Relieved, she tells him of her nightmare that someone was trying to kill her. He comforts her, rubbing her head. She tells him how a man with a big knife was chasing her in her dream. He gives her some tea, saying it’ll make her feel better. She doesn’t want it unless it’s herbal or she’ll be more jumpy. He smiles, saying it’s okay and it was a tea his nanny had. She asks about him having a nanny and he clarifies a governess, a regular Mary Poppins, LOL. She attributes his good deeds to her upbringing. Being she didn’t have her mom, she wished she had a Mary Poppins too, but only got John Black. She admits he was a great dad to her when she was a kid and tells EJ about John and Marlena’s affair and how Belle came along. She knows she had a great childhood in comparison, but her mom’s affair with John made it impossible for her trust people. EJ says it wasn’t unusual in England to have a governess. He carries the tea with him everywhere he goes. She sips it and says it is good. She asks what’s in it and he laughs saying a spoonful of sugar..and she laughs too…LOL…but he doesn’t expound on it, just saying it’s full of love as she looks at the breakfast he brought her. She thanks him for always being there for her. He apologizes for scaring her. She thought she locked her door and he admits using the emergency key she and Austin gave him, apologizing. He asks if she’s sure it’s over between her and Austin. Sami’s worried about Lexie telling Austin about being blackmailed. She was a Dimera and makes her look like Mother Teresa, saying how Lexie went crazy a few years ago and became a regular Creulla Daville (from 101 Dalmatians) LOL. Sami ponders who else would have had a reason to make that call to stop her from marrying Austin? EJ says he knows a few people, himself for one. He tells her she should be herself, not her sister like Austin wanted. She’s now angry, but EJ insists she deserves someone who wants her for who and what she is and that’s NOT Austin. She asks if there’s something else and he understands she’d like to know if he’s falling for her. Before he can answer, she sees the note on the floor and panics. He sees it’s addressed to Sami and she doesn’t want it. He offers to throw it away, but she has to see what’s in it. She chokes there’s nothing else they can take away from her. He opens it and reads it. Samanatha…congratulations. You did the right thing by not marrying Austin. There’s only one more thing for you to do to keep the secret quiet. You must give sole custody to Lucas to keep your secret safe.” Sami refuses to do that and kicks something in anger. Crying, she says she can’t give up her son. EJ promises they’ll get through this together. Sami knows whomever is behind this wants to see her lose everything. EJ promises she won’t lose him and he’ll be there for her always. She gives him a little kiss, then moves in for a longer one as we see them fall back on the couch as the camera freezes on the note and the previews roll..

ROMAN TO MARLENA: Listen to me, okay? What kind of a message is it for your daughters if you don’t do this?

EJ TO CARRIE: You never did answer when Lucas asked you to tell me how happy you are in your marriage.
CARRIE: Didn’t I?
EJ: No sweetheart, you didn’t.

SAMI TO AUSTIN: Carrie’s in love with you. You’re in love with her.

AUSTIN TO CARRIE: IT’s about time we got back together like it was meant to be!

Episode # 10,390
Tape Date: 8/2/06
Air Date: 8/31/06
Director: Herb Stein
Head Writer: James E. Reilly

Summary: Belle and Philip discuss the events of the day…Bonnie worries that Mimi may be in danger…Sami confronts Lexie, blaming her for her wedding day blues…John fills Marlena in on his investigation…and they make a gruesome discovery outside the church.

At one Loft…Belle and Philip rehash the events of the day (I guess for the benefits of those that have missed the past week or so). They talk about the file ending up in Shawn’s room, as well as Sami’s non-wedding, then go inside to find Maggie (who was babysitting) covered in food. She talks about how Claire is such a picky eater, as they both say they were neither that way. Maggie opens mouth and inserts foot when she says she guesses that Claire didn’t get that gene from either of them. Both are quiet as she asks if she said something wrong. They assure her she didn’t. They briefly discuss the wedding fiasco and then Maggie leaves. After she leaves, Belle asks Philip why he is upset but he decides to go shower and go to bed. Later, they are ready for bed as she asks him if he is okay. But he keeps obsessing about the file. He tells her she is beautiful and they kiss. Later they are still talking about the events of the day and he suggests they take Claire and go to the fair the next day. But she reminds him that Claire has a doctor appointment, so he wants to go along. He says it won’t be a day at the park, but at least they will be together as a family.

At the other loft…Bonnie comes rushing over, a nervous wreck. Mimi shushes her, saying Shawn is asleep. They talk about the file as Mimi tells her that Shawn, Belle nor Philip believed what was inside. She tells Bonnie that Philip is sure that it is a sick joke. Bonnie is just relieved that there was no damage. Bonnie thinks that Mimi is now home-free and that she can relax a bit. But Mimi tells her Philip thinks someone did this, as well as, the egg scramble on purpose. Bonnie tells her that Kate had mentioned a conspiracy theory as well, but she didn’t really pay any attention to her. Mimi thinks Philip could be on to something, considering how many enemies the Brady and the Kiriakis families have. Bonnie gets frightened and says that the DiMera’s hated both families. She hates that Mimi is right in the middle of this and thinks that they should have police protection. Mimi thinks she has been watching too many Law & Order reruns, but Bonnie thinks they should be on their guard.

At the Church…Sami cries to EJ about leaving Austin at the altar. She blames Lexie, but EJ doesn’t think that Lexie is responsible. Sami cries about her dad coming to her but she couldn’t tell him the truth. She is most upset about letting Will down. She says everytime she gets close, she ends up ruining it. She reflects about what a bad day it has been as he ends up making her laugh. Marlena walks in and asks what is going on. Sami explains that EJ was just trying to cheer her up. Marlena asks him to leave so she can talk to Sami. She asks Sami if she is relieved that the wedding didn’t happen. Sami assures her that there is nothing going on between her and EJ…he is just her friend. Marlena asks her why she called it off and Sami says that maybe Marlena was right before. She says she does love Austin, but just maybe she loves him enough to let him go…maybe she just wasn’t ready to marry him. But Marlena thinks she could have chosen a better time (and more private place) to tell him. But Marlena senses there is something else going on here, and Sami asks why she is always second choice. She says that both Austin and Lucas love Carrie. She says that men fight over Belle, Carrie and Marlena…and asks what is wrong with her. Marlena tries to assure her that she is smart, beautiful, etc. but Sami calls herself a “bad seed”. She says that Marlena loves Belle and raised Carrie as her own, but sometimes she feels as if she and Eric are castoffs. She immediately apologizes, saying she didn’t mean that. She talks about what a good mom Marlena is and thanks her for being there for her. Marlena asks again if there is something else going on, but Sami denies it. She offers Sami a ride home, but she declines. After their hugs and “I Love You’s” Marlena leaves. EJ returns and Sami tells him she needs a favor from him.

They go over to Lexie’s house and barge in. Sami and Lexie get into a huge argument, with Sami blaming her for everything that happened today, including the threatening phone call…as Lexie looks bewildered. Lexie denies it all, even though she considered exposing Sami…but she says she stood as much or more to lose than Sami, and she couldn’t go through with it. Lexie can’t understand how EJ can be friends with a person like Sami and Sami says he understands her. Lexie says if he understands her that well, he should get in his car and race out of town while he has the chance. He says he comes from a family “with a flair for the dramatic” (hmmm) and maybe that is why he is attracted to Sami. He says it is like he and Sami are kindred spirits. Lexie warns him about Sami, but he says he will be fine. EJ says the three of them aren’t really that different, which highly offends Lexie. Lexie rants at Sami about all the people she has hurt and continues to insist she is not responsible for Sami’s troubles, saying that someone powerful is behind all of this. She ends up tossing them both out as Sami vows that Lexie isn’t going to get away with this on her way out.

Later, a tearful Lexie meets up with Tek on the pier and tells him about Sami’s visit. She tells him that Sami also received a call right before the wedding, thinking it was Lexie behind it. She tells him she didn’t tell Sami about her own call. She cries that she feels that all of this has gotten way out of hand and that people are going to get hurt.

Back at the church…John asks Eve why she is there and it seems she is helping on the case. They make eyes at one another and talk about their upcoming date. She takes him outside to show him a set of muddy footprints she found. When they come back, they talk with Tek as he catches on that there is something going on between them. Eve tells John she is going home to get ready for their date…just as Marlena walks up. She asks if Eve is the one that John is dating. She says nice to meet you…I am MRS. John Black. John explains that they are separated…it is what Marlena wanted and talks about how earlier, she was hanging all over Roman. He is rather harsh with Marlena (in front of Eve) and then walks her out. He comes back and tries to explain to Marlena, telling her not to worry about Eve. Marlena catches on that he is working on a case. He teases her, telling her he likes seeing her jealous. She says she KNOWS how to get answers out of him and lays a big kiss on him. She asks if he wants to change his plans and he says he can’t. She asks what he is working on and he tells her he is working to clear Bo and hoping to get him and Hope back together. They talk about Eve’s motives as John is sure it is money related, and he is sure she is working for someone…and tonight he hopes to find out who. She worries he is putting himself in danger, but he assures her that is not the case. He asks about Sami as Marlena thanks him for getting her to the church…even if it didn’t really matter. She tells him she is glad Sami called it off thought. One more sexy kiss and they leave. Outside, he teases her some more about his “date” until they stumble upon Eve, sprawled out across the ground. He rolls her over and they see that she has blood all over her. John nervously looks around…as the previews show…

Abe (to Tek): So you left the investigation to meet with Lexie…is that right?...

Lexie (to Austin): Sami leaving you at the altar is the best thing that could have happened to you…

Roman (to Abe & John): We may have a shot at the killer…(Abe): Did you find anything?...(Roman): I’m afraid I did…something you aren’t going to like…

EJ (to Sami): You want to know if I am falling for you?...

And the credits roll…

Episode #10,389
Taped 8/1
Director – Albert Alarr

Sami’s wedding continues, & amazingly, all the guests have stayed, and even stayed in their seats. The entire show centers on the event at St. Lukes, and there are lots of little conversations between the couples as the drama unfolds.

Tek is alerting all his men that he was tracking a suspect, but lost him (Huh, in that small church? Lol), & tells them to hold their positions. Lexie arrives at the back of the church, with Sami noticing her. Lexie slips into a spot near the confessional, as Father Jansen blesses the rings. Austin recites his vows and puts her ring onto Sami’s finger. Kate is not happy. Sami drops Austin’s ring, says oops. Carrie looks uncomfortable. Sami begins to put the ring on Austin’s finger, hesitates, looks unhappy, then looks up at Austin, and tells him she cannot do this……and turns right into the Runaway Bride, as she flees down the aisle, tripping along the way. She picks herself up, dusts herself off, and keeps on going.

Everyone is shocked, but Kate is happy, as Lexie smirks. Austin tells everyone to keep their seats, and goes after Sami.

John notices one of Tek’s men leave, and follows. Austin knocks on Sami’s door. She’s crying, tells him to go away, but then lets him in. She is crying, berating herself as being undeserving. She is ashamed of herself, she took sacred vows in her family’s church. She takes off the ring that Austin put on her finger, and the engagement ring, along with the ring she was going to put on Austin’s finger and gives them back. Bo asks Roman what Tek is doing with all the men, but Roman says he is only the commander, what does he know. They go to check it out, with Bo first alerting Hope to give an eye out for anything suspicious. Now all the couples have little conversations about what happened. Caroline wonders if Sami will ever have a happy wedding. Shawn asks if she means all to the end, with throwing rice and all. Then tells her theirs was one of his most treasured memories. Caroline tells him she loves him.

Sami tells Austin she is just not a good enough person to be married to him, and goes on and on about how she has not really changed, she struggles all the time, and if they were married, he would see right through her machinations. She makes him leave.

Tek tells Bo, Roman & John all about the threatening phone call Lexie got. Then tells them how Sami blackmailed Lexie into telling Carrie that if she had children with Austin, they would be born with birth defects. (Wait a sec, Tek. Sami told Lexie to think of something…..it was Lexie who came up with the birth defect warning). The men are appalled, as Tek continues on how the voice threatened to hurt Abe and Theo. Chelsea tells Lucas & Carrie that maybe Austin really loves someone else. (that girl just loves to make others miserable, doesn’t she?). Austin comes out, announces that, while it may change in the future, for now, it is over, thanking them for coming. Kate is thrilled, and brags to EJ how happy she is she will not have that harlot for a daughter-in-law. EJ thinks that a strong word, but Kate adds liar, thief and cheat to the list. EJ tells her she also has faults of her own…many! Kate tells him that the insult aside, she is going to let him take her dancing. (Ah, Kate, she sure has cheek!) But EJ says no, he has to go see his friend. And Sami is his friend. He wants to make sure she is alright. Will is very upset, telling Lucas & Carrie his mom is a freak. Lucas soothes him. Carrie tells Austin how sorry she is, and gives him a hug, as Lucas watches. Austin asks them to give Sami a ride to her apt., he will be staying in a hotel tonight. People are talking in little groups. Jennifer tells Frankie she is starving & he mentions taking her to dinner at Chez Rouge. (O.K. folks, there WAS a reception with lots of food somewhere, and it is going to go to waste. How about just going there?). Steve asks something of Kayla about this being a typical Brady wedding. Kayla tells him there is always something unusual. Max & Stephanie chat a bit, while Chelsea glares at them, the green eyed monster obviously at work.

Roman goes to see Sami, and she cries and cries as he holds her, telling her he has been wiping her tears away since she was a child. And it looks like it is a lifetime job. He asks her what happened, and she talks about Austin putting her on a pedestal, and she cannot be up there, it is too far to fall. Roman asks her the real reason, but she just goes on about not being able to live up to the ideal that Austin has of her. Roman prods (being he knows about Lexie & the blackmail), but Sami does not mention it, and asks her dad what she is going to do. Roman tells her that in the words of her Gramma Caroline, you reap what you sow.

Marlena wonders if she should go see Sami, but Caroline says she needs some time. Roman, Bo & John talk about what they know now, and keeping the secret. (yeah, right!). Steve asks Kayla if he can give her a ride home. She wonders if being in the church and hearing the vows and all triggered anything for him, but he says nothing. Then, Steve tells her he hates to keep hurting her this way, maybe they should cool it. Kayla replies that he can’t get rid of her so easily. (you tell him, Kayla! The day will come!) Bo & Hope leave, as do Lucas, Carrie & Will, plus Caroline & Shawn. Austin sits alone and Kate sidles over to gloat. Austin warns her, not now. He abruptly leaves.

Sami has changed clothes, as EJ knocks on her door. She berates him for not coming sooner. John comes out of the church to see Eve talking to Tek. He asks what she is doing there. Lucas comforts Will, as Carrie questions Austin. Sami tells EJ about the phone call she got just before the wedding, and how the mechanical voice told her that if she went through with the wedding, he would tell everyone how she blackmailed Lexie. Sami says she thought she could go through with it. All she wants if for her dad and Will to be proud of her. She thinks her dad has given up on her, but Will said in church how proud he was of her, and if he found out, he would never forgive her. EJ comforts her, telling her it will all work out, as he strokes her hair.

And the previews roll…..

Marlena, very sweetly, to John & Eve: Hi, there, this must be the girl you are dating. Nice to meet you, I’m Mrs. John Black! (love it)

Lexie to Sami: You should be very afraid. Someone else knows our dirty little secret. And this someone can do a lot more harm than I ever could.

Bonnie to Mimi: I’m serious. Whoever took the trouble to switch those embryos is capable of anything.

The credits roll.

Tuesday, August 29th

Episode: 10,388
Directed by: Albert Alarr
Tape Date: 7/31/06
Headwriter: James E. Reilly

Sami and Austin’s wedding progresses at St. Lukes while Lexie and Abe discuss the mysterious file appearance in Shawn’s cubicle at the hospital.

AT THE HOSPITAL

While pushing her library cart at the hospital (as part of her candystriping duties), Bonnie asks Lexie about Shawn. Lexie confirms he’s okay and just needs REST and QUIET after Bonnie babbles on about trying to call the loft. Tek returns and Lexie cuts the conversation short with Bonnie to see if he’s found out anything. He agrees it seems like the Brady’s are a target and that Tony is a suspect even though he’s in prison. Tek says Sami BRADY’S wedding would be a perfect place for whomever it is to strike. He’s got a team on the way there and he’s heading there as well. Later, he calls her from the church and says all is okay and she is glad to hear that. He comments he’s glad to hear she cares about him and she says of course she cares about him. Naturally Abe walks up and overhears that. After hanging up, Lexie tries to clarify why she said what she did to Abe, but he doesn’t give a damn. He’s moved on and so should she. She’s free to cozy up to whomever she wants to. To prove he’s there on other business, he flashes his ID as Commissioner to a nurse walking past and asks about the missing Claire Kiriakis file (why isn’t he at Sami’s wedding? And why would a COMMISSIONER be investigating in the field, especially something as trivial as that?) He learns Lexie was the ER doctor that night and she smiles saying he’ll have to talk to her after all.

They sit in the lobby to talk (not her office) and she explains what happened and how the file was found. He says this incident doesn’t say a lot about hospital security. She tells him that Dr. Bergman was also working that night. She tells him she’s given it a lot of thought and doesn’t think it ended up there accidentally (gee, all that police training didn’t go to waste). She tells him how the lab confirmed the results were legit. She doesn’t know how long the file was there before it was found. He asks who was there at the time and she cites the names, including Chelsea, and gives him the file. Bonnie overhears them talking and wants details as Mimi hadn’t told her about the file. Lexie tell her. Bonnie freaks out and when she finds out that Belle and Mimi both know too, RUNS out the door. Lexie’s concerned the excitement won’t be good for Shawn. She tries to get Abe to stay, but he says he has to go home and change for Sami and Austin’s wedding reception. He couldn’t go to the wedding because he had this to do (oh PALEEZ…any rookie could have done that!) Lexie warns him to be careful and of course the Police Commissioner doesn’t know about his force staking out the church just in case and she doesn’t tell him either. He didn’t think Austin and Sami would get a second chance and assures Lexie they won’t. Lexie wishes there were something she could do to stop the wedding.

ST LUKES
We rejoin the friends and family at St. Lukes as the wedding march plays on, but no bride walks down the aisle. Kate dares not to get her hopes up that this will be another Sami Brady disaster wedding and Lucas assures Austin that he and Will just talked to Sami and she was still anxious to marry him.

Kayla whispers to Steve that she should have known this would happen. It’s like the saying goes…always a bridesmaid, never a bride, LOL. He asks why so many people showed up then and she says it’s like a disaster movie..always get a big draw. Kate tells EJ (who’s sitting next to her..the mother of the groom?) she may owe him an apology after all. Chelsea vents to Carrie about this probably will be her only day off for the rest of the summer and nothing’s happening.

Roman tells Sami she has to make a decision as there are lots of people waiting inside for them. She knows what she wants to do and blames it on nerves. She loves Austin and wants to marry him more than anything. She tells Roman she wants to marry Austin. They hug and step into the church as the music restarts. She looks at all the faces of friends and family there as she walks down the aisle..and Austin asks quietly if everything is okay when she joins him. Smiling, she says everything is perfect. Father Jansen conducts the ceremony and he personalizes it by saying how wonderful he is and will be a wonderful husband. He clears h is throat when he gets to Samantha, but comes through and pauses about how the wedding is a …… and Sami fills in MIRACLE, but he says he was going to say blessing. Everyone chuckles. We rejoin Father Jansen in more of the ceremony and then Marlena steps up to the microphone and reads a verse, saying the response is The Lord is kind and merciful to each line.

Will is next as everyone boosts his confidence. He reads the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians..about how love is kind, etc., then speaks from his heart about how he’s happy for his mom and Uncle Austin. Like any kid, he wanted his parents back together, but he knows his dad is happy with Aunt Carrie. He loves his mom and she has worked hard and finally become the kind of person his dad and him always knew she could be. Turning your life around isn’t easy and lots of people don’t try, but mom’s done it big time. Cue the tears in Sami’s eyes as Will takes her hand and wishes her and Austin a happy, long marriage and hugs her, saying she’s the best.

It’s time for their personal vows and Austin goes first. Austin said he couldn’t be happier (he should be on Laney’s LIAR LIAR poster). He cites how she’s a wonderful mother to Will and he’s as proud of her as Will is. He’s honored that she’s agreed to be his wife and that he loves her, Samantha Gene and will do his best to respect their differences and will love and protect her. He hopes she’ll always be as happy as they are today.

Sami’s turn. She chokes saying she doesn’t think she can do this. Everyone looks at each other puzzled by that statement. Kate tells EJ she doesn’t think this wedding is going to happen. Austin calms Sami telling her to calm down and not be nervous. Once she starts talking, everything will be fine. He says four words will be fine…I love you Austin. She says she wants to do this and says he believed in her like no one else would. Even when she made dumb mistakes, he gave her a second chance. He’s understanding and always treats her with respect. He’s a real good man, saying he’s a real life hero like her dad. Looking at her parents, she tells them how she admires them so much. Looking at Will she knows she hasn’t made it easy for him all the time either and is proud of him. She doesn’t know what she did to deserve him, but is happy to marry him.

In the back of the church, Tek alerts the troops to be alert. John notices the back of the church being guarded, but doesn’t tell Marlena when she glances at him. Father Jansen reads the vows and Austin repeats them first. In sickness and in health, in prosperity and adversity (is that new?), etc. Sami does hers, saying the same vows.

Father Jansen does the usual question asking if anyone has any objections and a long pregnant pause as everyone stares at each other waiting (and it goes to a commercial)…then Father Jansen asks for the rings from Lucas. Lexie walks in the back door of the church and Sami turns and stares at her as the camera freezes on her face…
And the previews roll…..

John to Tek: This isn’t the first time that St. Lukes been a target during a wedding. Who’s behind it?
Tek: We don’t know, but everyone inside could be in danger.

Steve to Kayla: I’m tired of making you feel bad.
Kayla: You don’t think you could hurt me that easily, do you (hard to understand her, but I think that’s what she said)

Chelsea: Maybe Sami realized she’s the not the woman Uncle Austin really loved.

Sami (now in a suit) to EJ: Where have you been? I’ve been stalling this whole time waiting for you. I never thought you’d come.

WEDDING CONGRATULATIONS
to Billy Warlock (Frankie) and Julie Pinson (Billie),
who were married in real life on Saturday August 26th.

EPISODE: 10,387
DIRECTED BY: Jim Baffico,
TAPE DATE: 7/28/06
HEADWRITER: James Reilly

The clock is ticking...will Sami marry Austin or not? Friends and Family arrive for the wedding and lots of little conversations take place while Lexie tells Tek about the mysterious file showing up in Shawn's room.

HOSPITAL
Tek arrives (in a suit) to talk with Lexie. He supposedly was there to interview an accident victim. She vents about Abe’s filing for divorce and other stuff going on at the hospital, saying she sees trouble coming. She feels whoever planted the file is also responsible for the embryo mix up. Whoever did this wants to cause problems for Mimi, Shawn, Philip and Belle and stepping into her private office (the one with a curtain), she tells him she thinks it’s the same person who called her too. He asks what threatening call and she sushes his raised voice, telling him she was warned that if she told, something terrible would happen. She’s now in tears as Tek asks for more information. Later she tells him she couldn’t tell what sex the caller was, but they promised to hurt her if she told anyone. She points out all the mix ups involved BRADYS (well, duh). He hugs her and promises to help her with it.

ST. LUKES
Roman is relieved Sami finally got there so he wasn’t wearing his monkey suit for nothing. Marlena has the feeling Sami and Austin aren’t marrying the right person. Roman comments again on how great Marlena looks and John walks in seconding that. John asks how she’s doing and she happily announces she’s doing good and feeling stronger all the time, reassured the separation was a good idea. He hopes she’ll agree to letting him come home soon as he misses her like crazy. She doesn’t seem irritated by the comment, but Roman pipes up for John not to pressure Marlena (butt out).

Ma and Pa Brady arrive and ask Bo and Hope about Shawn. They both appreciate her changing her mind and coming to the wedding with Bo. Hope tells them not to read too much into it and Caroline doesn’t agree and heads off to help Sami. Bo smiles and Hope smiles a little in exasperation. She says it was a little awkward and he mentions it’s all her decision and no one elses if they do reunite. He steps away to check on some investigation being done, much to her surprise. He asks her to save him a seat and she agrees, looking a little lost without him. Jen and Frankie arrive and inquire if she and Bo are back together and Hope says sort of. Encouraged, Frankie said that will make Ma and Pop happy. When asked about Jack we hear he’s not in remission yet, and although he wanted to come, all felt it best for him to stay home with a nurse instead. Frankie leaves to give the gals time to talk While Hope tells Jennifer she came with Bo for the family, Jennifer wisely tells her cousin what she saw in Hope’s eyes when she was with Bo told her that wasn’t the only reason. They both smile.

Ma and Pop tell Frankie they’re happy to see him there with Jennifer. Having Steve there with Kayla too, she figured Sami’s wedding might be a good thing, LOL.

Philip and Belle go into the church after Chelsea’s mini interrogation about them being together. Alone, Belle and Philip talk about the lab report. He doesn’t want anyone else to learn about it..like his mother, who would make a big deal about it.

GROOMS ROOM
In the Grooms Room, Austin can’t believe Kate’s attitude. She even takes his flower off, saying he won’t need it. Sami knocks on the door and apologizes for being late as she goes into his arms. She calls Kate “Mom” and Kate and Lucas ask what happened and she gives them the condensed version, telling Austin she’ll explain more later, but she has to get ready now. After Sami leaves to get ready, Kate says if she calls her Mom one more time…but Austin told her to get used to it, she’s going to be his wife. EJ arrives at the Grooms Room and apologizes for getting Sami there so late. He jokes about taking such good care of his race car that his personal car doesn’t work, saying it’s like the shoemakers kids not having shoes. He shakes Austin’s hand saying he’s getting a good woman and to take good care of her as he WILL be watching.

Kayla, Stephanie and Steve arrive. He’s a little uncomfortable wearing a tie and Kayla knows being in St. Lukes must be hard for him too. She thanks him for coming with them and he says he’s trying. She tells him that’s all she asked. Stephanie steps aside to wait for Max and Billie joins Steve and Kayla. She asks for a rematch at darts and he’d do anything to get out of his suit, but later.

Max arrives and he and Stephanie talk about an upcoming race and who will win. He suggests betting on it and she reminds him of their ethics clause they signed. He says his date is there when Chelsea walks up and Stephanie leaves them alone. When Chelsea doesn’t hear his compliment about upstaging the bride, he asks about the paternity tests she got and if she told the people. She rants about Abby’s big mouth, but he stands firm that Abby’s her friend and he won’t tell. She explains what happened (but no names are mentioned) and they’re both surprised nothing happened after they found out the results.

Stephanie invites Max to sit next to her during the ceremony being Chelsea is a member of the bridal party.

Steve fills John and Bo in on what he’s found out about Eve. He had a friend back in Cincinnati do a little “hack attack” (Bo and John both claim not to have heard that, LOL) and guess who had a big deposit in their checking account the day after the surveillance tape went missing? Yup, they agree that Eve was involved, just now to find out WHO paid her off.

Kate finds EJ sitting in the church and gives him a hard time about not keeping Sami busy longer. She figures he won’t be out of the picture, even if Sami marries Austin and he smiles in response.

BRIDES ROOM
Sami has Deanna working on her hair, wanting to be more beautiful than ever. Marlena sits down and asks Sami if maybe subconsciously she’s avoiding marrying Austin. Sami cites all the things that happened, saying her subconscious didn’t cause them. She loves Austin and wants to marry him.

Marlena gives Sami something old (bracelet her grandmother gave her when she was born), Carrie gives her the something blue..a new garter. Belle gives her the something “borrowed”, the pearls her dad gave her on her wedding day that she found out Marlena wanted Sami to have. Sami thanks her for remembering. She said EJ gave her the something new…pearl earrings. Deanne asks they stop talking so she can finish Sami’s hair and Marlena leaves to tell Father Jansen that Sami’s almost ready (not even close IMO). Sami asks Belle how Shawn’s doing. Sensing there’s more than Belle wants to say in front of Deanne, Sami asks Deanne for a minute alone with her sister (uh, remember Deanne is running late for ANOTHER event, but agreed to stay and help Sami?) Amazingly enough, Chelsea walks up and can hear everything going on inside the room, even with the door closed, as Belle fills her sisters in on what happened at the hospital. Carrie asks Belle if she doesn’t really want Shawn to be Claire’s father. Belle explains how Philip is determined to find out who left that folder. Chelsea dashes off as Belle changes the subject back to the wedding and hears Lucas and Will walking down the hall. Lucas knocks saying Will wanted to wish his mother the best (was hoping football couch would have told him to lose the Shirley Temple hairdo..). Belle and Carrie go to find Deanne (good luck) to finish Sami’s hair and Will hopes nothing goes wrong for his mom THIS time. He always wanted his mom and dad to get back together, but is happy for her and Uncle Austin too. Lucas brings up her delay getting to the church, but sincerely tells her he knows she’s wanted to be with Austin for a long time and he’s lucky to have her. Both her guys are sweet to her.

IN THE CHURCH...
Carrie knocks on the Grooms Room door and tells Austin that Father Jansen is ready for them in the church. He asks her not to go when she turns to leave. Moments before his wedding, he again mentions how they ended up married to Lucas and Sami. She kisses him on the cheek and leaves.

Jen and Frankie go to take their seat and remember their own wedding was there not too long ago and all that’s happened since.

Kayla is disappointed that Hope didn’t call her to the hospital for Shawn. Bo and Steve arrive looking like cats that ate the canary, but don’t say why. They all take their seats. Chelsea jealously watches Stephanie and Max joking as Caroline shoos her back to the Brides Room. John tells Kate she looks lovely and she has to ask him a question.

Roman tells Marlena he’s going to give their daughter away. She jokes about that’s the one good thing about having so many runs at it, he won’t be nervous..and she goes to check on Sami.

Billie finds Philip (still dealing with a hangover) and tells him to call her next time he feels like getting drunk. He said Lucas told him the same thing and glad his siblings are so supportive.

Marlena arrives and we Sami all coiffed and dressed…looking radiant and beautiful. Marlena and Carrie enter and catch their breath. Sami is worried and asks if everything is okay. Marlena replies “everything’s okay” (but doesn’t tell her daughter she looks beautiful or anything like that..tsk tsk) and it’s time. Sami asks for a moment alone after all that’s happened that day and her bridal party leaves to meet her outside. Sami takes a breath, looks in the mirror to confirm it’s really going to happen and grabbing her bouquet, heads for the door. The Brides Room phone rings and at first she thinks of ignoring it, but thinking it’s her twin brother Eric calling from Colorado, answers it asking if it’s him. Naturally it’s not, it’s “the voice” warning her if she marries Austin, her secret will be revealed about how she blackmailed Lexie, saying it would be a pity to disappoint her son, again. Sami looks about to cry.

In the hallway, the groomsmen assure Austin this wedding will happen. Marlena hears John had a date as Kate inquires about him and Eve. He said he can explain, but she said the ceremony is about to begin. Cue the music as Philip walks Belle down the aisle. Shirley (er, Will), walks Chelsea down the aisle, Lucas walks Carrie (aren’t we a tightly interwoven family?) Austin and Carrie both exchange resigned looks. Sami walks out and Roman senses something’s wrong by her doomed look (she looked happier walking down death row!). He asks what’s wrong and she comes out of her deep thinking to assure him all’s okay and she’s ready. Sami’s about to cry and her sweet daddy tells her if she’s having second thoughts about marrying Austin, he’ll take care of calling off the wedding. He asks her if she wants to marry Austin or not…as the camera freeze frames on her crestfallen face as she looks down the aisle….

And the previews roll…

Lexie tells Bonnie (who’s in her candy striper outfit) with Abe standing behind her: “When Shawn was here, Claire’s medical file was found in his room.”
Bonnie looks shocked, saying “What?”

Tek (to the officers guarding the church on the radio): “Keep an eye all entrances, windows too..we don’t know who we’re dealing with or what his MO is.”

John looks to the back of the church and says..”What the hell…” Marlena looks at John and he shakes his head saying “nothing”…while Roman is busy staring up front.

Sami to Austin (at the altar): “Austin, I don’t think I can do this….”

As the credits roll…

Friday, August 25, 2006

Director: Phil Sogard

Summary: Phillip is the controlling force in the DNA debate while Mimi squirms. Sami’s day go from bad to worse, until she is rescued (great “rescue” scenes, btw!). Chelsea stirs the pot (her grandmother’s seed alright…) while Austin worries, and Marlena and Carrie have a serious chat…

AT THE HOSPITAL, Lexie reiterates the idea to run a DNA test on Claire. Phillip thinks it is unnecessary as there is no reason to suspect that Shawn is Claire’s father since he and Belle never slept together. Belle agrees with Philip that there is no possibility. Lexie leaves it at that, but vows to investigate where the legitimate looking file came from, and how it got into Shawn’s room for him to find. She sends them all out to do another check on Shawn.

Phillip thinks it is all a sick joke at their expense. Mimi wonders if it the same person. Mimi thanks God that Phillip doesn’t believe the file….but Belle questions her on her reaction. They discuss the issue and how Philip wants to find out who is doing this to them. Lexie comes out and tells them that Shawn is clear to go home. Mimi is happy. Belle and Phillip leave for the church, with Mimi and Shawn’s regrets. Mimi asks if Shawn is really all right. Lexie says he will be fine in a couple days, with lots of rest. She goes in to get him and goes over the instructions from Lexie, but he isn’t really interested. He asks where Belle and Phillip are so Mimi tells him. Shawn is happy to be able to miss Sami’s wedding – Mimi reminds him that there will always be another one in the future. As they get off the elevator at the loft, he tries to tell her that he can walk and they apologize to each other over what happened. Maggie comes out with Claire, commenting that she thought she heard voices (at least we know who is babysitting for once! Nice to see you, Maggie!) and Shawn lights up. Maggie rips into Shawn and gives him a lecture on his drinking binge and its dangers. (PSA, anyone?) She tells him that she and Mickey were worried, and he promises not to do it again. She explains to Shawn how she ended up babysitting. Mimi sends him in to rest. He sticks around to talk to Maggie a bit longer, who ends up sending him off to rest herself, while she goes to put Claire down.

IN THE BRIDE’S ROOM at St. Luke’s, Marlena and Carrie are discussing the missing Sami. Carrie tries to convince a worried Marlena that Sami is in good hands with EJ. (Chelsea and Billie make comments in here, too.) It seems there is a rush to be on time since some of the important people have other appointments that they can’t be late for.

IN THE GROOM’S ROOM, Lucas and Austin are discussing EJ’s plans for the day. Lucas reminds Austin that he has 45 minutes to go – are there any second thoughts? Austin thinks it is pretty clear that Sami is the woman he is meant to be with and he wants to go tell her. Lucas starts to panic and tells him he can’t do that – it would be bad luck. Austin thinks it will be good luck from here on. Lucas keeps trying to stop Austin from seeing Sami. Austin knocks on the door where the girls are (Marlena, Chelsea, Carrie and Billie) and tries to talk to Sami through the door. No one wants to tell him that Sami isn’t there. Carrie eventually comes out and tries to send Austin away, by telling him that she is busy – maybe they can talk later. Austin compliments Carrie and asks why Sami didn’t answer him. Carrie tells Austin that Sami didn’t hear him because she is getting her hair blown and is listening to her MP3 player, while going over her vows. Lucas wonders when she got one, but Carrie says she borrowed one from her. (Quick thinker, this Carrie is!) Austin sends her to get Sami for him. Carrie keeps making excuses for Sami. Austin gives her a message that he is excited about marrying her in just over 30 minutes (lots of time references today…). Lucas tells Carrie to just get Sami, but Chelsea comes out and tells Uncle Austin that Sami has flown the coop. (Inside the bride’s room, Chelsea had made a statement, and Billie told her to stay out of it. See how well she listens!) Chelsea goes on to tell Austin that Sami is missing with EJ and gets into some scenarios as to why. Carrie tries to explain, but Chelsea keeps stirring the pot. Kate walks up thanking God that Sami has run off with EJ. Chelsea and Kate go on about Sami and how this wedding shouldn’t be happening, but Carrie and Austin stick up for her. Kate keeps going on about the chemistry between Sami and EJ and how EJ always seems to get his way. Chelsea thinks they should call off the wedding so she can go shopping, but Carrie tells her that she isn’t going anywhere and no one is calling off the wedding. She turns to go back into the room, but turns and asks Austin to confirm. He looks at her…and says a very slow, “right.” He is sure that she will be there. He refuses to take Kate’s bait. He goes back to the groom’s room and will see all of them in the church. Kate vows to herself to break out the champagne if Austin is still single at the reception.

BILLIE AND CHELSEA wander to the front lobby, where Billie is worried for Austin, and asks Chelsea if she called her brother. Chelsea responds that she called the hospital and he was sent home. Billie asks her about her good deed she mentioned earlier. Just then, Belle and Phillip walk in and Chelsea looks horrified. She is appalled that they are still together, which gets Belle curious as to why they wouldn’t be.

Back in the Groom’s room, Austin and Lucas start to worry…with only 7 minutes to go, Austin is still sure she will be there. Kate walks in wanting to celebrate that she isn’t showing. Austin doesn’t want to listen to her, and won’t. He tells her that if she wants him to be happy, to wipe the smile off her face.

MEANWHILE, AT THE PRECINCT, Sami and EJ are arguing with the cop over whether or not they were trespassing. He thinks it is pretty cut and dried. EJ tries to explain what happened, but the cop isn’t swayed. He tells Sami she will have to tell it to the judge. Sami threatens to tell her father about the cop trying to keep her from her wedding. The cop isn’t budging. EJ tells him who her father is, and finally catches the cop’s interest. Sami demands that he take off the handcuffs so that she can go get married. He doesn’t believe her and won’t call the Commander on his day off to verify it. He thinks he should know if the Commander’s daughter is getting married – it is a once in a lifetime event. Sami responds that it is for some people. When he sends her to booking, she demands her phone call. EJ tells her that he already tried the church and Carrie’s phone – but her voicemail was full. He asks for another number to try, but Sami says that everyone she knows is probably at the church, and has their phones turned off. Officer Peters tells her that the phone call comes after booking, so she can think of who to call while she is waiting.

John came to the station to talk to Eve about their next date. He really sweet talks her. Officer Peters come in to tell Eve that his perp really was telling the truth – her fingerprints prove that she really is Commander Brady’s daughter Samantha…and John is shocked.

IN A HOLDING CELL, Sami is approached by two other “ladies”. They ask if she has been there before – and she tells them she has been all the way to death row. When Sami tells them who arrested her, they comment on him being the head of the vice squad and think they know why she is there (they think she is a “working girl” – love Sami trying to get her foot out of her mouth and explain tactfully that she isn’t “one of them”). They tease her and don’t believe her either. She asks God to tell her what she did to deserve this, then changes her mind
J. The girls keep taunting her, until John comes in and wants to talk with her, sending Eve away. John starts to tease her about making her stay, but when she begs, he relents and has Eve let her out. The girls tease her about having a John like him…. Both Sami and John smirk and leave. In the outer office, she demands to know what is taking her so long to get to leave. Officer Peters tells her that John still has to follow procedure since she was already processed. She throws a pity party and he tries to console her. She still threatens him with telling her father. John comes back and tells her she can go. She comments that she has no way to get to the church, and he tells her how to take the bus. (LOL!!!!) When he is finished teasing her, he offers her a ride, since he was on his way anyway. Isn’t she glad she invited him now? (J at her not very convincing, “Not really.”) (Loved the interaction between these two! Give me more!)

BACK IN THE BRIDE’S ROOM, Marlena is on the phone with Roman, who promises to have the officers at the precinct watch for Sami. Carrie and Marlena try to reassure themselves that Sami is okay and will be there shortly. They try to come up with some simple reasons why she is so late (and Carrie mentions her dead phone). Marlena catches something in Carrie’s body language and questions her. Is she sure that she is okay? They have a nice chat about not being there for each other, and how things hopefully work out the way they should. Marlena thinks Carrie is trying to convince herself that Lucas was the right choice, but Carrie thinks it was. She breaks down and feels that she has let so many people down – all except Sami, and she doesn’t want to hurt her, too. Marlena tells her that she and Austin were so close and now she is about to watch him marry her sister…she wonders if deep down, Carrie is hoping the wedding doesn’t happen. Marlena goes down memory lane, telling Carrie she was always a good big sister and wonders if she is doing this for Sami, and maybe it isn’t the right thing for her. Just then, John comes in showing off what he found at Salem PD and they go nuts. Sami promises to explain later, but she is going to marry Austin today! Fade back on a very happy Sami as Austin’s face appears beside hers….

And the previews start….

Lexie (to Tek): There are other things going on here, too.
Tek: What do you mean?
Lexie: I mean, we could all be in for a whole lot of trouble.

Kayla (with Hope lurking behind her): What’s up with the two of you? You look like two cats who swallowed canaries.

Bo (with Steve): Nothing….umm…

Carrie: I can see it in your eyes, Belle. You wish Claire was Shawn’s baby, don’t you?
(Cuts to
Chelsea listening while we hear Carrie). Belle looks like she is crying.

Roman (to Sami): Do you want to marry Austin, or not?

And the credits…

Episode # 10,385
Tape Date: 7/26/06
Air Date: 8/24/06
Director: Herb Stein
Writer: James Reilly

Summary: Poor Sami’s wedding day goes from bad to worse…Billie questions Carrie’s love for Austin…the loft dwellers discover and question the contents of the folder.

Sami and EJ…
go rushing into an abandoned house during a thunderstorm. Both are drenched as Sami is having a nervous breakdown, saying that the weather said there was a 1% chance of rain. EJ promises it will all be over soon and they will get to the church. Sami opens the door shouting at Mother Nature that she won’t ruin her wedding. She takes EJ’s phone and calls Carrie, telling her she is with EJ and about the storm. (But the phone went dead and all Carrie heard is that she is with EJ). Sami threatens to throw the phone at his head and LOL as he asks her who she thinks she is…Russell Crowe? Sami is having a fit as EJ finds an old ham radio and says he will try and contact the Salem PD. Sami is sure that everyone will think this is just another Sami wedding fiasco. EJ can’t pick up anything on the radio but old music. Sami snoops around and finds an old steamer trunk and opens it. Inside she finds old clothes, including an old WW2 Navy commander’s jacket. EJ puts it on and wouldn’t you know it?...it’s a perfect fit. She also finds a wedding gown. She can just imagine the bride walking down the aisle to her hero. EJ holds out his hand and asks her to dance (to The Way You Look Tonight). As the song ends, they hear a voice on the radio and rush over. It is a kid who says he is from Saginaw Michigan. EJ tells him where they are and asks him to call the Salem PD and tell them and he says he will try. Then he is gone. Sami panics, sure he won’t help them. She paces the floor saying this is the worst day of her life…even though it doesn’t really compare to death row (LOL). EJ says she is strong and been through a lot and says that some day she will look back and laugh about this, but she isn’t so sure. She rants at him and talks about how things should have been perfect and starts crying. She digs through her purse for a Kleenex and finds the mystery note, saying it looks like that person was wasting their time, she destroyed this day all on her own. Sami says that since she was 15 all she wanted was to marry Austin. There is a knock at the door as Sami rushes over to find a police officer. She gathers her things, saying she is so excited to see him. He says he doesn’t understand why…he is there to arrest them…for trespassing…as Sami’s face drops.

At the Church…Carrie is wondering where Sami is when Billie and Chelsea arrive. Carrie fears that something wrong has happened…because nothing would keep her from being there except an act of God. Considering Sami’s track record, Billie and Chelsea think maybe she will be a no-show. Chelsea whines about her dress as Carrie keeps trying to call Sami but only gets voice mail. She tells them that EJ was bringing her there but she doesn’t have his cell number, as Chelsea comments that EJ’s HOT. It is about now that Carrie gets the call from Sami, but all she gets is that Sami is with EJ…and then the line went dead. Carrie fears they were in an accident, but Billie says if that were true, they would hear from the police department or hospital. Billie thinks maybe it’s fate, giving Austin a break. She says she knows that Austin still loves Carrie and she is pretty sure that Carrie feels the same. In fact, she doesn’t feel that Sami or Lucas are happy as well. Billie says she can’t keep quiet about this any longer…she knows Carrie better than anyone and can tell it is eating her up inside…talk to her. But Carrie says talking about it will only make things worse. Billie says that Austin doesn’t really love Sami and that Carrie and Austin are trying to be selfless…but that is not for the best. Carrie says it’s too late…she and Austin had their chance and she blew it. But Billie says that Sami and Austin don’t belong together and she is sure that it won’t last…and as much as she hates to say it, she things that Sami and Lucas belong together as well. She tells Carrie not to be the martyr…listen to her heart and do herself a favor…and do Sami and Austin one as well.

After getting dressed, Chelsea says her dress isn’t so bad after all…she even makes it look cute (lol) as she admires herself in the mirror. Carrie says she is glad to hear that Shawn is doing okay and that Belle and Philip will be there soon. But Chelsea says she wouldn’t count on that. They asks her what she means but she says she is going to check on Shawn and leaves. Billie wonders what she is up to and says she never knows what to expect from her. Chelsea calls the hospital to check on him and ends up with Lexie on the phone. Lexie tells her that a “situation” has arisen but that is all she will tell her…if she wants more, she will have to talk to Shawn. (see below). Carrie paces the floor as Billie tries to settle her down. Billie says she can’t tell which Carrie wants more…a wedding or a no-show. She says she wants Carrie and both her brothers happy…but it is HER that Austin loves. Carrie brings up Billie and Bo, but Billie says that is different…Bo loves Hope…not her. Billie goes to find Chelsea as Carrie calls Marlena for help. (Although we don’t’ see her). She asks her if she has heard from Sami and she assures her that Sami will show up any minute. Billie asks Chelsea what she found out about Shawn and she excitedly tells her that things couldn’t be better. Billie is suspicious of her and Chelsea tells her she took her advice and did a good deed…one that could make all the difference in the world.

At the hospital…Belle reads the information in the folder and tells Shawn that it says Claire is HIS daughter. He looks at it as they wonder where it came from. They tink someone is playing a sick joke. Belle remembers when they were stranded in the barn and her dream and wonders what was real. Mimi and Philip come in and ask what is going on. Shawn shows them the file and Philip reads it and says it’s ridiculous. They tell Mimi what it says and she begins to panic. Shawn says he and Belle never had sex and Belle again brings up the night in the barn. Mimi has flashbacks of Bonnie telling her all about that night. Belle also talks about how odd it was that Zack and Claire’s DNA matched for the liver transplant. Philip is sure that someone has it out for them and vows to find out who is behind it. Later, they show the file to Lexie who is puzzled by it, saying it looks official and promises to check into it. Philip thinks it is a sick joke as Belle accuses him of having conspiracy theories. They talk about someone else who did things like this…as Stephano’s name comes up…yet again. Lexie leaves with the file and stops to look at it (maybe suspicious herself). This is when she talks to Chelsea, btw. They wonder how the file got there and Philip asks a nurse if she saw anyone else in Shawn’s cubicle and she says she will check around. Mimi is trying to divert attention, saying she is sure that this has to do with the Brady’s…someone out to get them, but the plan will backfire. She thinks they should all just forget about this and move on. But Bells says it’s not that easy. Belle notices that Mimi is shaken over this as Shawn asks Belle what she is thinking. Belle says that they have to find who is behind this. Lexie returns and tells them that the lab looked at this and says it is legit…but the one who actually ran the tests and handled the paperwork is off today. But she has a simple solution…let’s take samples of Shawn & Philip’s DNA and run the test again…and they will see which one matches Claire. FF on Belle…as the previews show…

Cop: That perp I just brought in was telling the truth…(John): What the hell?...you just arrested Samantha Brady?...

Sami: Now, will you kindly take these handcuffs off me?...So I can go get married…

Chelsea (to Belle and Philip): Oh my God…you two are still together?...(Belle): What are you talking about Chelsea…why wouldn’t we be?...

Marlena (to a tearful Carrie): So, I guess a part of me is wondering if you are hoping this wedding doesn’t happen…

And the credits roll…

Episode #10,384
Tape date 7/25
Director Herb Stein

Sami’s wedding day problems escalate, as Shawn finally wakes up, & has a heartfelt conversation with his parents, and Belle finally notices the file that Chelsea left on the nightstand.

Sami and EJ sit in the car, waiting for the police officer to come, as she accuses EJ of purposely trying to sabotage her wedding. He denies it, of course. The police officer arrives, asking for license & registration, telling EJ he was doing 75 in a 40 MPH zone, and saying that he was waiting all day to give a ticket to someone like him. EJ says something about glad to oblige, as he got there as fast as he could. (old joke, folks, but it made me laugh!). When the cop reads EJ’s name, he begins to gush about actually pulling over the great EJ Wells. Turns out that not only is he a big race car fan, but a huge fan of EJ Wells. He decides to let the ticket slide this time, in exchange for an autograph. EJ is glad to oblige, as is Sami. The officer leaves, EJ tries to start the car…..no dice. It is now dead. Sami is having a fit. EJ looks under hood, while Sami tries to call family & friends on her cell, getting nothing but voice mails. Now she tries to call a cab, yelling at the dispatcher when he tells her there is a 45 minute wait. She throws down her phone in frustration, wondering where everyone is. EJ tells her, probably in church waiting for you. (& Sami, no one has their cell phones on in church! That is a no-no). EJ gives her his phone, but there is no signal.

Sami is now very worried, but EJ says he will try and fix the problem, with her help. He has her holding some hose, and they chatter just to get their minds off the situation. She asks him what EJ stands for, and he tells her it is French for”none of your bloody business”. She laughs, saying it must be awful, and tries to guess, saying, Edgar, or Elijah. He is evasive. Now he talks something about being at school with Prince William, who was just an ordinary bloke. Sami goes ballistic, asking all kinds of questions, and wanting, excitedly, to know if the queen ever came to visit. And she lets go of the hose, hot steam escapes, catching her in the face and neck. She cries, as EJ tells her she has a red spot, and a lst degree burn, but makeup will cover it. She has a fit, pulling out a compact to look. Not to worry, EJ happens to carry aloe in his car, and applies some, saying the marks are already fading. Sami is crying, at how much more could go wrong, thinking she is jinxed or something. EJ says there is a gas station down the road, they should walk there, and perhaps she will be able to get a ride from there to the church. Sami agrees, and just as they start to leave, big clap of thunder…..and Sami cries, oh, no, EJ. No, it is raining. It is raining!

AT THE HOSPITAL, Mimi, Philip & Belle all talk about Shawn, his drinking problem, and what set them all off tonite. They talk about when Jan was drugging Shawn, but how they all thought he was over that hurdle. Everyone admits to their part in all the troubles, & how every one of them have flown off the handle, with Philip crashing that car, Belle & Mimi getting into big fights, etc. etc. In another area, Bo & Hope talk about their problems, and about Chelsea vs. Shawn in their lives, as they see Chelsea on the hospital phone. Lexie comes to them, saying Shawn is awake now. Dr. Berner is talking to Shawn, asking him questions to make sure he is o.k. (name, parent’s name, birthdate, etc.) and tells him that his blood alcohol level was 3 times the legal limit. He asks how much he drank, and Shawn says about 10 shots, and 6 beers. The doctor says 5 drinks will put you over the limit, and at risk, and how lucky he is to be alive. Lexie comes in, and has some additional serious conversation with Shawn. When she finds out he was drinking at his Grandma’s Pub, she asks how he got home, appalled when he answers …..a car, and she cannot believe he drove. He then remembers that Lisa called a cab, but does not remember getting home. She tells him she is keeping him there to check his vitals constantly, that he is dehydrated. She leaves.

Chelsea has been talking to Abby on the phone, telling her she has done her good deed, and soon the father will know about his baby. Along comes Billie, telling her she has to leave for the wedding, but Chelsea refuses, saying she wants to stay, until she knows Shawn is o.k. Billie tells her she has to go, she is a bridesmaid, but Chelsea is adamant. Later, when she learns Shawn is awake, she decides that perhaps Billie is right, and they should leave.

Bo & Hope go into see Shawn, each sitting on a different side of the bed. Bo asks if Shawn could hear them, when they were in before. And then tells him again, how much he loves him, how sorry he is that he has not been there for him. Shawn asks why Bo let Chelsea in, that he doesn’t want her anywhere around him, & how Bo always chose her over his family. Now Hope explains to Shawn how Bo told Chelsea off earlier. Shawn is surprised, but Bo explains how he found out how Chelsea had intercepted and altered his e-mails to Hope. Shawn tells how devastated Hope was, and did not want Bo to know where she had gone. Bo assures him that until Chelsea can prove she can be a good person, she is out of his life. He also explains how he still has to prove to Hope that he had nothing to do with the disk disappearing from the evidence room. Both Bo & Hope now leave.

Mimi has gone into the chapel to pray. Philip promises to get her if word comes that Shawn is awake. Lexie comes along to tell Belle & Philip just that.

Now, outside the room, Bo & Hope tell Belle she can go see Shawn, while Philip says he is going to get Mimi. Hope reminds Bo he has a wedding to go to, saying she is going to stay to keep an eye on Shawn. He reminds her that she r.s.v.p.’d a yes, and promised his mom. Hope finally agrees she needs to take her mind off things, and a wedding should do it, and agrees to go with him.

In the chapel, Mimi is praying, promising God that if Shawn will be o.k. she definitely will tell him everything about Claire. Philip walks in, and we get one of those…..”oh, no, he heard me” scenes, followed by a commercial…..but no, Philip did not hear a thing, and happily tells her Shawn is awake and o.k.

Belle enters Shawn’s room, watching him a while, until he opens his eyes. They chat a tiny bit, he complains about the worst hangover that could possibly exist, and she pours him some water, spotting the file. She looks at it, sees it has Claire’s name on it, and wonders why Claire’s file is on Shawn’s nightstand. She opens it, says, Oh, my God, and looks at Shawn. And the previews show….

Belle telling Shawn: “It says Claire isn’t Philip’s daughter. She is yours

EJ holding out his hand to a smiling Sami, saying “May I”. (the camera is way above, and it looks like they might be dancing.

Carrie: I guess Belle & Philip will be here soon
Chelsea with that eternal smirk: I wouldn’t count on it

Philip tells the other 3 loft dwellers – “someone has a grudge against us. If the 3 of you want to sit there and do nothing, fine, but I’m not going to stand for it.

Episode: 10,383
Directed by: Albert Alarr
Tape Date: 7/23/06

Family and friends take turns talking to Shawn, hoping to wake him up; Sami’s wedding day is not going smoothly and Chelsea decides to do the right thing.

GET ME TO THE CHURCH ON TIME……
Lucas and Carrie arrive at Sami’s apartment and learn that Sami slept across the hall at EJ’s. EJ walks into his room and finds Sami sound asleep in his bed. He fiddles with her bangs as she’s sound asleep, Sami sits up and kisses him, thinking it’s Austin. When he speaks afterward, Sami wakes up and is totally shocked, apologizing and backing up hurriedly. She notices the time and leaps out of bed, asking how he could let her sleep so late on her wedding day. He apologizes, saying she looked so peaceful he wanted to let her sleep, but smiles as she rushes out of the room. Across the hall Carrie tried calling EJ’s and there was no answer. Lucas stops Austin from going to check on her as it’s bad luck and offers to go himself. We see Sami in frantic mode as Lucas notes a button undone on Sami’s top (she’s sitting on the couch). EJ explains he had turned off the phone as he gets lots of calls from Europe during the night and didn’t want them to wake Sami.
Now alone, Austin and Carrie share an awkward moment as she helps him pick out “studs” to wear. Austin asks Carrie what her dress looks like and she refuses to show him, but says Sami didn’t want to be upstaged. He apologizes for ruining her good mood, but she insists that she’s happy for her sister who’s marrying the man of her dreams. Naturally the conversation turns back to them and their quickie on the roof. Yawn. They hug as she assures him how happy she is.

Across the hall Sami’s in manic mode, worried about her hair. Lucas tells her that Carrie’s arranged for a stylist to be at the church and she calms down. Lucas and Sami look into each others faces as he calmly (and sweetly) tells her they’re going to make sure everything goes right for her today. He leaves to send Carrie over. EJ comments on how connected she and Lucas are and thinks they belong together. She sees Lucas whenever she looks in Will’s eyes (just where is her son on her wedding day?) She tries to explain the love/hate thing with Lucas to EJ, saying their relationship was never boring. It’s better for them to be friends. She asks EJ is they aren’t friends and he reluctantly agrees. Aha, Will’s at camp as Sami talks to him on the phone. His ride home flaked out on him and EJ offers to go get him, but Sami said the camp would only release him to family (at his age?). She asks Carrie to go and she agrees as they both try to calm Sami. EJ says he’ll deliver Carrie to the church.

Lucas rambles on about knowing how hard it is to stop loving and caring for Sami. Austin asks him if he’s still in love with her. Lucas denies it, saying he’s over her. Whatever they had is over. He loves Carrie and she provides stability in his life, no roller coaster ride like he had with Sami. He wishes Austin well with Sami, saying life will never be dull. Austin hopes that Lucas will have the life with Carrie he wants it to be.

EJ got pulled over for a speeding ticket, and of course Sami is freaking. She asks him to just take the ticket and she’ll pay for it. She picks up on his not wanting her to get married that day and asks him about it.

HOSPITAL
Mimi tells everyone that Shawn’s still the same. Philip’s feeling guilty and Bo tells him it’s not his fault. Philip wants to take Belle home, citing reasons she should go home, but she adamantly refuses to leave until she knows Shawn’s okay. Mimi overhears and Philip rolls his eyes. Philip reminds Belle and Shawn it’s Sami’s wedding day and Belle says she could care less, Shawn is all she’s concerned about now.

Chelsea tells Billie how Shawn saved her life in the sewer and she wants to make things right with him. Billie tries to be optimistic about Shawn’s future. Chelsea sees Philip and Belle talking and thinks of something she CAN do for Shawn.

Hope and Bo are allowed to go in and sit with Shawn. Hope pulls back, afraid to go in the room, saying it reminds her of the night Zack died. Bo softly encourages her, saying it’s not the same and that Shawn needs to hear their voice to come back to them. The nurse closes the curtain around them as they stare at their unconscious son. Hope tells Shawn it’s Mom..to hold her hand and he’s got to fight. She tells him how much she and Bo love and need him and breaks down. Bo stops her from leaving and talks to Shawn himself, telling him who all is there for him, saying he has a lot to live for, a wife and new baby on the way and that he’ll be a great father. He tells him the day he was born was the most important and happiest day of their lives. He asks Shawn to come back to them so he can give him another chance to let him show him how much he means to him. Hope sobs.

Mimi tells Belle to go in and talk to Shawn. Tell him how much the baby needs him and they all need him. Philip smiles and Hope hugs Mimi afterward, saying how unselfish that was of her.
Chelsea gets off the elevator, now holding the blue folder she found saying the DNA tests confirm Shawn and Claire’s DNA match. Only Billie notices her walking into the area where Shawn and Belle are. Chelsea watches and overhears Belle pleading with Shawn to wake up and saying she can’t settle for just friendship with him and loves him. Even though they’re married to Mimi and Philip, she just knows they deserve to be together. She can’t spend the rest of her life trying to talk herself into not being with him. They have to be together, there has to be a way. Bo finds Chelsea lurking near the area and pulls her away, telling her to stay away from Shawn. Billie asks Chelsea why she’s upset and she claims it’s just because of Shawn. Billie asks about the folder and Chelsea tells her she took to heart what Billie told her about doing the right thing and good deeds. (She doesn’t show her what’s in the folder, but no doubt Billie will put two and two together later on.)

The doctor tells the family that Shawn’s making signs of progress, but warns them that there might be brain damage in extreme cases. Hope rushes to the chapel and lights some candles. She tells God the last time she talked to him was to ask for his help in getting a liver donor for Claire. She talks about Zack and says she could never survive if she lost another child. She begs God not to take him from them too. Their family has suffered so much loss and if he dies, she’s afraid their family will die with him. Bo walked in and overheard that last line as they stare into each others eyes. While they’re in the chapel, Chelsea slips into see Shawn. She tells her unconscious brother that Zack was right, he and Belle belong together and she hopes she can help that happen. She puts the folder on her bedside table. Bo promises Hope that all will be okay and she takes his hand as they go to check on him. Chelsea tries to get Shawn to wake up, knowing he’d want to see what’s in the file. She leaves and Shawn’s head rolls a little and he wakes up. He looks over at the file…

ON THE NEXT DOOL:

SAMI rants to EJ: “I have been through every worst case scenario a bride could go through on her wedding day. Oh my God, did I just jinx myself?”

MIMI (as she prays in the chapel) and Philip walks in and overhears: “I know I deserve to be punished for lying to Shawn all these months about Claire..”

HOPE to BO: “Don’t you have a wedding to go to?”
BO: “Does that mean you’re not going?”

BELLE to a groggy Shawn as she holds the blue folder: “It’s a file with Claire’s name on it…oh my God…

As the credits roll…

Episode # 10,382
Tape Date: 7/24/06
Air Date: 8/21/06
Director: Jim Baffico

Summary: Abby lashes out at Frankie…family and friends gather as Shawn is rushed to the hospital...Hope leans on Bo…as Chelsea wants to tell what she has learned.

Billie and Bo argue over his treatment of Chelsea, but he is furious over what she has done. Billie thinks she is trying to change, but he says she will NEVER change…it is just who she is. But she says he is wrong…people DO change…look at her. She did because someone loved her and believed in her and because of Bo, she was able to change her life. Bo says it’s not the same. Billie starts crying and says that Chelsea is like a frightened child who fears that everyone she loves will abandon her. Bo says that Chelsea is selfish and hateful and he is finished blaming himself or Billie or anyone else for that matter for the way Chelsea behaves. Yes, what happened to Zack was an accident, but that she deliberately ruined his marriage and he doesn’t even want to look at her now. Billie says that she needs them and is sure that she will change if they just give her a chance. But Bo says they HAVE given her chances and all she has done is take advantage and gotten away with murder. He says that forgiveness and compassion are the last things she needs from him…he has sacrificed everything for her and look where it has gotten him. He has had it with her…it’s over. Along here, Hope calls Bo and tells him about Shawn, so he rushes off to the hospital.

At the Garage…Chelsea tells Belle that she has something to tell her, but before she can, she tells them that Philip and Shawn got in an argument and now she can’t find them. She gives Chelsea and Abby a condensed version of the scrambled egg story and Chelsea says it is like they are matched with the wrong partners. Belle says it will take a miracle to straighten it all out. Chelsea says that maybe she can give her that miracle. Belle asks her what she means and Chelsea says she needs to make up for mistakes and hopes to do a good deed. But before she can explain any further, Philip calls and tells Belle that he is home and she and Claire rush home. After she leaves, Abby asks Chelsea what that was about but Chelsea tells her that she needs to leave…and go do the right thing.

Later, Abby is working when Max comes in…followed by Frankie. Abby is cold to him and says that Frankie stabbed her father in the back. Max accuses her of being harsh but she has a (long) flashback of walking in on them…ending with her calling her mother a slut. But Abby says it’s not harsh…and refers to Frankie as a predator. Frankie tries to explain that he loves Jen but Abby doesn’t want to hear it and says they are disrespecting her father. She asks Frankie to back off and asks what are they going to do now that her dad is doing better and may not die. Frankie says it’s Jen’s decision and Abby says she has already made a decision…she loves Jack. Frankie tells her that Jen asked him to stay, so he isn’t going anywhere. After Frankie leaves, Max tries to tell Abby that this is none of her business…Frankie and Jen have a past and were in love long before she was born. But Abby is only worried about her dad and how all of this is affecting him. She says that she loves Jack and doesn’t want to lose him again…to death or to Frankie. Max doesn’t believe her father is going anywhere and she needs to believe that as well. Later, Abby is feeling bad over the scene she made but Max tells her it’s okay…he understands how she feels. But she is an adult now and shouldn’t let everything get to her like this. She thanks him for his help and he says he will be there to help if she needs him. He thanks him with a hug. She tells him about Belle being there earlier and what Chelsea said to her. Abby says it was all kind of weird. She tells him that Chelsea founds something out at the hospital about a secret. Max asks her about it, but all Abby knows is it had to do with someone’s paternity and that she was determined to tell everyone the truth and that she said it could ruin a lot of lives. Abby says she doesn’t know what Chelsea will do, but that she said she was going to try to change and do the right thing. Max says he’s not so sure that Chelsea knows what the right thing is.

Chelsea goes home and Billie tells her about Shawn being in the hospital. Chelsea thinks they should go to the hospital, despite Billie’s warnings to stay away. Chelsea says she can never make up for what she has done, but wants to be there for her brother and leaves…as Billie follows.

Belle goes back to the loft finding an inebriated Philip, telling him she was worried about him. She realizes that he had been drinking and he explains that he and Shawn were doing shots. He says he THINKS he won right before he passes out standing up…with his head on the kitchen counter. Belle slams a lid on a pot, waking him up and wants to know what happened. Philip explains and then says he just wants to go to sleep. Still standing, he places his head back on the counter.

Across the hall…Mimi tries to wake Shawn up, but he won’t, so she calls 911. Later they are at the hospital and Mimi calls Hope, who rushes over as well. She arrives as Mimi explains that he had been drinking and has alcohol poisoning. Hope calls Bo and tells him to get over there…she fears he may not make it and says she can’t lose another child. Bo arrives as Mimi explains what happened and says if anything happens to him, she blames herself. The doctor comes out and tells them that they are flushing his system and if that doesn’t work, they will try dialysis. Bo and Hope want to know how bad it is and he tells them that his blood alcohol level was .3. He says that only time will tell if he will recover as Hope clings to Bo. Mimi wonders if Philip was drinking as well and calls to check on him. She tells Belle about what happened to Shawn and that he is in the hospital. Belle tells Philip that they have to get to the hospital and they rush off. Hope is a nervous wreck as Bo tries to calm her down. She breaks down crying as he holds her. She says she lost Zack, she can’t stand to lose another child. In the background, we see Billie and Chelsea arrive. Hope sees them and charges over, telling Chelsea she has no business being there and to leave. Bo joins her and rails at her telling her that until she can be a decent person, she is on her own. Billie tries to get her to leave, but she says she just wants to know how her brother is. Bo and Hope both tell her to leave as Billie stands up for her, saying she is human and only concerned about Shawn. Hope asks…like she was concerned about Zack? Chelsea begs them to let her stay…just until she finds out how he is. Bo and Hope say they don’t want to argue about it, so he tells her she can stay…just as long as she stays out of sight. Belle and Philip arrive as Mimi gives them an update. Chelsea sees them and tells Billie that she knows that Belle still loves Shawn. Billie tells her it is NONE of her business and to stay out of it. Philip tries to apologize for what happened as Bo and Hope double-team him in a lecture about drinking.

The doctor comes out and tells them that he is stable now (but still unconscious) and can have visitors. Hope wants to see him but steps aside and tells Mimi to go first. Chelsea tries to justify to Billie her being there, but Billie tells her that she has a lot of work to do before any of them trust her again. Billie goes to get them something to eat and warns Chelsea to stay out of Bo and Hope’s way. Bo is still trying to calm Hope down as she says she should probably call Patrick as well. Bo just looks at her and tells her to do what ever she has to. Mimi goes into Shawn and says she is so sorry…and that she blames herself for pushing the custody issue. She says she has kept so much from him but it he comes out of this, she will tell him everything…as the previews show…

Austin (to Lucas): Listening to you talk about Sami…it sounds like you are still in love with her…are you?

Sami (to EJ): Did you do this on purpose?...(EJ): WHAT?...(Sami): You don’t want me to get married today…

Bo (grabbing Chelsea and dragging her away): What the hell are you doing?...Stay away from him…

Hope: If Shawn dies, I am afraid our family will die with him…

And the credits roll…

Episode: 10,381
Directed by: Roger Inman
Tape Date: 7/20/06

Mimi and Belle
worry about what Shawn and Philip are doing (drinking); Bo visits Hope; and Chelsea finally gets the wrath of daddy (FINALLY!).

BRADY HOME

Hope stares at the picture of her family before Zack’s death and hears the doorbell. It’s Bo and Caroline. Once assured nothing’s wrong, she makes it clear that Caroline’s welcome at any time (Caroline apologized for not calling first) but she’s not interested in discussing the divorce with Bo any further, it’s going to happen. They aren’t there for that, they have a favor and hope she’ll do it for them. They want Hope to go to Sami and Austin’s wedding with Bo. Caroline said it’s a Brady family wedding and would mean a lot to them. Hope says no, but Caroline is practically in tears, saying she was hoping she could do it for her and Grandpa Shawn, one last favor and leaves. Hope tears into Bo, but he insists it was Ma’s idea and she knows how much family means to his parents. He wanders down the “if” lane about if Chelsea hadn’t sent those emails, etc. and she will regret what she did. He’s not agreeing to a divorce and vows he will get her back. Hope watches him leave, does the infamous eyebrow raising look and smiles.

THE LOFT
Belle and Mimi are worried as they’ve left voicemails for their husbands and haven’t heard back from them. They argue about the custody issue and Mimi’s worried Shawn and Philip are getting physical. The usual bantering about Belle and Shawn and she loves Philip and has his daughter, yada yada…as Claire starts fussing. Belle picks her up, thinking she’s missing her daddy. Mimi states how much Claire cares for Philip and Belle said of course she does, he’s her daddy and thank God there’s no confusion over that. Later Belle’s worried Philip will do something stupid like he did with the race car. She decides to give Claire a bath. Belle remembers how much Shawn’s dreamed of having a child of own since high school and his baby brother JT meant a lot to him and they use to babysit him together. He deserves to be with his child and it’s not right for Mimi to ask he not do that. Mimi takes off to go find Shawn and Belle has Claire in her arms (apparently just out of her bath and in her one piece fleece jumpsuit) and a minute later says they’re going to go find her daddy too.

THE PUB
Shawn and Philip are at the pub. Philip is anxious to settle custody rights tonight and even willing to take the issue outside. Shawn sits calmly drinking his beer and shots that Lisa continues to bring to him at his request. Philip firmly states he wants Mimi and Shawn to move so that Shawn can’t be near his wife. Shawn asks if he means out of the loft and the building. Philip tells him no, out of Salem and our lives. He rationally explains they can’t move as Belle wouldn’t want to move away from her mother and he has to be near the VA for his leg. Philip comments on Shawn’s drinking..3 beers and 2 shots so far as he orders another…and Philip decides to have a shot too. Shawn tells him it’s not a competition, but Philip disagrees. We rejoin the drinking men as they stand firm to their goal. Philip flaunts he’s a Kirakis and has Gene Briskow on his side. The man has connections up the wazoo and no way they’d lose. Shawn reminds him he’s a Kiriakis too, Uncle Phil. They snort about that and Philip decides it’s too quiet and gets Grandma Caroline’s portable radio from behind the bar to turn on. The song that plays is the one Shawn and Belle danced to in the dance competition and Philip says he can’t get away from Shawn and Belle’s greatest hits. The guys continue to pour drinks and get wasted and Philip says he can out drink Shawn any day. Shawn says he can’t lose, he’s Irish. Philip falls to the floor and laughs. He asks for Shawn’s help to get up and Shawn falls to the floor laughing too. Both guys are wasted, but not enough. Shawn tells Philip he’s got everything and all he’s got is a blue collar job. Philip knows Shawn was about to add Belle to the list of things he had and Shawn tells him how earlier Belle had told him so. He tells Philip not to blow it. Philip said yes, he has everything except his left leg and starts laughing. Lisa cuts them off from any more and threatens to have Caroline come down if they don’t.

LOCKHART HOME
Abby arrives to hear about Chelsea’s mystery file at the hospital. Chelsea tells her the file had to do with a DNA test result showing who the biological father of a baby is. The results will blow the biological father away when he finds out. Chelsea tells Abby that she knows the mother would want to be with the biological father if she knew about it, but won’t tell Abby who she’s talking about..only saying they’re not close to her (Chelsea). Chelsea flat out says she’s not going to say anything about it until she can use it to her advantage and not do the “right thing”. Billie walks in and asks what’s going on. Chelsea lies of course. Abby has to get back to work and Billie comments about how late it is. Abby said Max had gotten behind in his paperwork and she offered to work OT to get caught up. Abby tells Chelsea to tell the truth and stop thinking about what’s in it for her for once in her life.

Bo arrives and is anxious to see Chelsea. Billie answers the door and he tells her what their daughter has done with his emails. She asks if he’s sure and he says he is…he used her laptop and forgot to log off, so gave her the perfect opportunity. Chelsea walks in saying “hey mom” (like she says that every day) and senses the tension in the air. She asks what’s wrong and Bo tells her “you are, everything about you. I found out what you did and it’s time to pay up.” He is furious with her and standing close to her, fumes about the emails he wrote to Hope and she changed. Didn’t she ever think they’d talk about them? You took my son away from me, now you wanted to take my wife away from me too? Billie rushes between them and he asks if she’s going to defend her. Billie said no and turning to Chelsea, tells her how disappointed in her she is. She promised she would stop lying and scheming. Chelsea says I thought if Hope came back that she and dad would get together and then I’d go to jail. Bo says you belong in jail. This proves you didn’t learn anything after what happened to Zack and you don’t give a damn about anybody but yourself! This makes me sick and ashamed that I ever stood up for you. Chelsea said he doesn’t mean that, but he said he does. The things he did for her to protect her. Everytime she screwed up he gave her the benefit of a doubt. I believed in you over and over. But NO MORE. Until you can prove to me that you can straighten up and be a decent person, you’re on your own! I wash my hands of you as of right now! Chelsea takes her purse (and keys…thought she lost her license…how is she getting around?) and leaves in tears. You can almost see the steam radiating from his head as Billie watches silently. He tells her he’s serious and doesn’t want anything to do with Chelsea anymore.

ON THE PIER
Mimi looks for Shawn on the pier and finds Hope gazing out on the water, sniffling. She tells Hope she heard about the divorce and is sorry, but is excited about being an Aunt to her and Patrick's baby (another wierd scenario...her niece/nephew would also be her brother/sister in law, LOL.) She tells Hope about the fight earlier and is worried about where Shawn is and what he’s up to. Hope approves of the custody arrangement idea and says it’s good to set boundries. She offers to help her look for Shawn.

BACK AT THE LOFT
Mimi returns home to the loft calling out for Shawn. Moments later he and Philip stagger off the elevator, arm in arm singing 100 bottles of beer on the wall. Mimi tears into them about what they’ve put her and Belle through tonight (hope she calls Hope and tells her he’s home safe). The guys chuckle and slap each others backs as Philip goes to talk to Belle. Shawn staggers and crashes on the couch saying he wants a kiss. Before Mimi turns around, he’s out (how did they get home is what I want to know). Mimi realizes Shawn’s not asleep, he’s unconscious. She’s now worried and tapping his face.

MAX’S GARAGE
Belle and Claire arrive at the garage looking for Philip and Shawn. Abby is there and flat out tells Belle it appears she’s more worried about Shawn than Philip. Later as Belle tells Abby that Claire keeps everyone together and how blessed they are to have her..you can almost see the wheels in Abby’s head remembering what Chelsea had told her earlier.
Chelsea arrives (don’t tell me she’s taking the bus as I don’t believe it)..and in tears tells Abby how her father basically disowned her.

Abby tells Chelsea it’s called tough love. Chelsea whines everyone she loves leaves her, but Abby tells her that she’s got to prove to her dad she’s changed. Belle and Claire come out of the restroom and Chelsea sees them. She says maybe now it’s time she did the right thing…as the camera freezes on her face and the previews roll…

CHELSEA TO BELLE: What would you say if I told you I could give you that miracle?

HOPE (crying on Bo’s shoulder): I can’t lose this child too, I just can’t. Bo comforts her.

MAX: Is this about your dad?
ABBY: Yeah, he got stabbed in the back by your brother. (cue surprised look on Frankie’s face)

MIMI (to Shawn who’s apparently in the hospital and oxygen tube in his nose): I’ve kept so much from you and I promise (and I really mean it this time) to tell you everything….

As the credits roll..

Episode # 10,380
Tape Date: 7/20/06
Air Date: 8/17/06
Director: Phil Sogard

Summary: Just a ho-hum day. Abby is disappointed when her family plans fall through…Lexie tries to appeal to Abe, but he lets her know it’s over…the loft dwellers argue again…at the hospital Chelsea stumbles upon some startling information.

At the Deveraux House…Abby has a surprise for Jack and Jen. She has a family picnic all planned out for the next day. But Jen says she can’t…she already has plans with Frankie. This upsets Abby when she learns that they are planning on going to Sami’s wedding instead. Jack sides with Jen, urging her to go. He says they can have a picnic another time. Abby is determined, so he tells her that he and JJ will be there, but she says forget it, she will just go down to the track and hang out with EJ tomorrow. Jack knows of EJ’s reputation from when he was a reporter and calls him a playboy. He thinks this is a mistake, besides, Abby is too young for him. He asks what is she thinking? She says maybe she isn’t thinking…just like her mom isn’t thinking when it comes to Frankie. They are just two girls controlled by hormones. With that, she grabs her purse and storms out. After she is gone, Jack and Jen beat themselves up over it and are afraid she is headed for trouble.

At the loft…Mimi and Shawn go over to Philip and Belle’s place, with Mimi wanting to settle the legal issues over the children. She says they need to pre-determine the number of hours Shawn and Philip can spend with their biological kids and set up some kind of schedule. Belle says Mimi has really been thinking about it and Shawn says TOO much. He thinks it is a little premature and that once the children are born, they may change their minds. But Philip agrees with Mimi…and Shawn says that is only because Philip doesn’t want him anywhere near Belle or the baby. The guys argue about it as Mimi says there needs to be boundaries, that would be best for the children. But Shawn says he isn’t going to g along with it and refuses to agree. He says no matter what, the child will still be his and storms out. Then Belle starts on them but Philip says it’s not about the babies…it’s about her and Shawn. Then he storms out as well. Mimi gathers her things as Belle tries to talk to her but Mimi doesn’t want to hear it and they end up arguing as well. Belle assures her it is over between her and Shawn. She feels that keeping Philip and Shawn away from their children is wrong. Mimi brings up that Belle keeps throwing herself at Shawn and she fears that Belle will use the baby to do the same thing as well. Mimi says she doesn’t trust her enough and thinks it just may be best that they never even tell the children the truth at all. Belle reminds her that when she was born, everyone thought that she was Roman Brady’s child and when her mom found out the truth, was honest with everyone. Otherwise things could have turned out bad. Belle says that half of Salem already knows the truth anyway…the children should know as well.

At the Pub…Chelsea is on the phone with Max, whining about having to work over at the hospital and break their date. She plans on slipping off and meeting him, when Billie yanks the phone away from her…telling her she WILL go back to the hospital. She proceeds to lecture her about her attitude. She says no matter what Billie says, this service will never get her over what she feels for killing Zack and that this is just a waste of her time. Billie tells her this may be a surprise, but she does NOT know everything. But Chelsea whines that it is just so boring. Lexie arrives and Billie asks her to join them for dinner. As Billie and Lexie talk, Chelsea is totally oblivious to them and plays with her iPod. Billie asks Lexie how she is doing and she tells her that Abe moved out. He shows up as well and speaks to Billie and Chelsea but totally ignores Lexie. Billie urges her to go talk to him. Billie thinks that he still loves her but Lexie says he will never forgive her. Chelsea shows some more self-pity and then Lexie talks about when Zack was a baby and how she did terrible things to keep him from Bo and Hope, but they eventually forgave her. Billie encourages her to go make an effort…take the first step. Later, after they have eaten, Chelsea heads back to the hospital and Lexie finally decides to follow Billie’s advice and try to talk to him. She goes over, but he is cold to her. She talks about how Theo misses him but he tells her not to use him to try to get to her. He says things are going to change soon…he is looking for his own place and is going to sue for sole custody. She pleads with him not to do this, but he says it is all her own fault. She tells him that she tried but he pushed her away…she asks if there is anything she can do and he says yes, get an attorney. He gets up and walks away as she cries. Billie comes over and asks what happened as she tells her that he plans to take Theo. She excuses herself to go back to the hospital and on her way out, overhears him on the phone with his lawyer. Outside, she breaks down as Billie comes out and offers to walk her back to work.

Shawn arrives at the pub as Abe offers to buy him a beer. They talk about the egg mixup and Shawn says he can’t turn his back on his own kid…but it will hurt Mimi at the same time. Abe agrees and tells him that regardless if he is with the mother or not, he needs to be there for the child. He says he will always be there for Theo as well. Later, Abe leaves as Shawn orders another drink. Philip walks in and says make it 2.

On her way back to the hospital, Chelsea is walking along the docks and turns around and screams. But it’s only Max, who was on his way to the pub, who startled her. She whines to him, but he too lectures her about her duties at the hospital. She says that nothing ever goes right in her life, except for him. She talks about how everyone she ever cares about leaves her. He says she is only making herself miserable. He goes on to tell her about how his parent abandoned him and how he and Frankie were adopted by the Brady’s. He didn’t think it would last and for that reason, he shut down and didn’t want to get close to them. He says he understands her because he has been there himself. She tells him that she understands and finally gets it and that he is the best thing that has ever happened to her. He tells her not to push him away…because he isn’t going anywhere. She goes back to the hospital as Lexie loads her down with a bunch of files to code and file. She calls Abby and learns that she is upset. She asks her what’s wrong and tells her to vent. As Abby chatters on, the gloved hand slips a file folder on top of the stack of files. Later, Chelsea turns around and sees that it is Claire’s file. She flips through it and can’t believe what she is seeing (it flashes something about Claire & Shawn’s DNA match). She tells Abby that this community service may not be so bad afterall…thinks just got incredibly interesting…really fast…as the previews show…

Shawn (to Philip): Don’t blow it…you have got everything a man could ever want… (Philip): Except for one thing…

Hope (to Mimi): Shawn loves you…he tells me all the time that he trusts you more than anyone in the world…

Bo (to Chelsea): I found out what you did…and now it’s time to pay up…

And the credits roll…

Episode: 10,379
Directed by: Phil Sogard
Tape Date: 7/17/06

Summary: Steve talks with Bo and gets reacquainted with Stephanie, Kayla tries to talk sense into Hope, Chelsea sticks her nose into Austin and Billie’s love lives, John tries to get info out of Eve, Sami gets a major confidence boost from an uncomfortable situation at EJ’s.

AT HOPE’S HOUSE, Kayla is visiting with Hope, and discussing pregnancy with her. Kayla tells her about being with Bo when he was served with the divorce papers. They then discuss how Hope still loves Bo. She will always love him, but doesn’t think there is anything they can do to fix their marriage. She doesn’t think that Bo can put aside that it is Patrick’s child, and she doesn’t want the child to grow up with that hatred. She tells him how she felt when they buried Zack and found out about the lies. She doesn’t want to discuss it anymore, and asks about Kayla. She tells him about her feelings about Steve leaving, and finding him, and what they have experienced since he came back. Neither think that him calling her “Sweetness” was a coincidence. Hope tells Kayla that she and Patrick have decided to see each other. She admits it wasn’t her idea, and Kayla wants to know how she feels about it. She feels that she owes it to him to give a relationship a chance, after all he did for her over the last few months. Kayla doesn’t want her to give up on Bo just yet, since she admits to still loving him. Patrick arrives at the door, and is introduced to Kayla, who excuses herself and leaves. He asks Hope about her conversation with Bo, but she doesn’t want to discuss it. He tells her that the Academy was short on recruits, so he will probably get in and wants her to be his study partner. Hope is showing him some techniques that he will need to learn. She feels that she needs a purpose in her life now that Shawn is grown up and she is divorcing Bo, and that the baby will help. He wants to know what to do with the handcuffs now that he has been taken down (the technique they were working on earlier)….Hope applies the handcuffs while telling him that he will probably work vice a lot at first, with multiple perps and big busts. They are both handcuffed together when she asks for the keys, which he suddenly can’t find.

AT BONNIE’S HOUSE, Patrick lets himself in, and Billie tells him that she is cleaning up the mess, and looking for an apartment for herself and Chelsea. Patrick tells her that they can stay there, as he doesn’t know how long he will be there himself. Billie assumes he is moving in with Hope and warns him that Bo is going to try his hardest to get her back. Patrick is sorry that they didn’t work out. So is she. She happens to have a copy of the manual he needs to study for the police academy, and asks to borrow it. She offers him anything he needs of hers to help him out.

AT THE BAR, Bo and Steve are drinking beer and discussing life in Salem. They think the Dimera’s might be responsible, but they won’t win – they never do, as Bo tells him about Hope disappearing at the hands of Ernesto Toscano, but turning out to have been with Stephano. He then tells Steve about what happened – they were following “Larry” Alamain, and Bo was the one who was supposed to be killed that night. Steve tells him that he shouldn’t feel guilty, that the past is the past, and they need to worry about the future and getting their wives back. Bo tells him that he asked John, an old friend of both himself and Steve, to help. Lo and behold, John shows up with Eve, sparking Bo’s curiosity. Steve wants to know if the blonde is John’s wife, the shrink, but Bo recognizes her and wonders if John is on to something. Steve excuses himself to Bo to go meet Stephanie. Bo just wants him to not disappear.

Stephanie wants to know why he went to Cincinnati and didn’t want to come back. He admits to hurting them, but wondering if it would have been better for them if he stayed away. She is hurt and wants to know why he would say that. Steve tells her that he is afraid that he would be putting them in danger by staying there. She tells him that she races cars and her mom was going to a war zone to practice medicine. They can handle danger, but not losing him again. She toasts him as her father and tells him that she grew up loving him, but not knowing him. Now that she has met him, she loves him even more. She understands how he must feel – she has known she had a father her whole life, he just found out he has a daughter. She is sure it will get better. He promises to root the loudest for her at her races, but to come in last, not first. He wants her to be safe. She is hurt that he wouldn’t want her to succeed. She is happy when she gets him to admit that he ‘gets’ her need, as her mother never did. She hugs him as thanks for understanding and leaves.

BO IS BACK AT THE STATION when Patrick and Hope come in. She didn’t want him to be there, and shows him the cuffs. He calls for a key, and she refuses to explain, stating that it is no longer any of his business. He is not liking this one bit. He wants to know where they came from, and Patrick admits to borrowing them from Billie. Bo tells him that Billie treated being a cop less than seriously, which is why she was bounced from the force. He warns him not to do the same. Hope lays into him about his treatment of Patrick and storms out.

John and Eve make small talk about CEO’s and crooks, and how she didn’t expect John as a CEO to like the same places she does as they get seated. John pours Eve some wine, and she comments about working extra tomorrow. John pulls out of her that she needs the extra money to support her parents. She asks about his separation, and he admits to being in a difficult situation the last couple of years. She admits that Kate told her, and he wants to know how she knows Kate. She tells him about some fundraising thing that Kate is working on, and how she mentioned she would be seeing him, so got some information. She says the conversation was mostly about work anyway. She excuses herself to the restroom, so he goes to clue Bo in on his theory and what he has discovered so far. They are discussing the Kate link when Eve comes back out, commenting on Bo’s presence and asking what is going on. John tells her that he and Bo are catching up, and Bo comments that he didn’t know they were seeing each other. She tells him it is their first date, and he leaves them to it. John empties the bottle and wants to know if she wants more. She says no, once again reminding him that she does have to work the next day. John asks if they can do it again sometime, and she agrees.

AT THE BRADY PUB, Chelsea walks in and sits with “Uncle Austin”. She wants to know why he is there, instead of out with his guy friends the night before his wedding – then comments that that’s right, he doesn’t have any – just lots of girls flocking around him. She thinks that Sami is sleeping at EJ’s to make him jealous, since she knows that she is not the one he really wants to marry. She is not so sure that EJ will be sleeping on the couch, either. She thinks that, as a bridesmaid, it is her job to help. He is cynical about her relationship knowledge. Chelsea questions him on Sami not being the woman he wants to marry anyway. He actually excuses himself and leaves.

Chelsea goes home to find Billie cleaning, and Billie wants to know why she isn’t at work (dinner break). Billie tells her that she is cleaning up to move. Chelsea wants to know if Patrick knows, but Billie doesn't think that he cares. She tells Chelsea that Hope is going through with the divorce and moving on with Patrick. Chelsea is sure that Billie is happy that she can finally have her life with Bo. She wants to know why Chelsea needs to have her parents together to feel loved by them. She tells her that they both need a major self-esteem boost. She tells her to find something that makes her feel good. She wants her to dedicate her service to Zack. Chelsea wants to know if she means doing a good deed?

SAMI WALKS INTO EJ'S to find a romantic candlelit dinner waiting, which surprises her. As it is the last night before her wedding, he wanted to make it special for her. He made her oysters, not knowing if she would like them. She reminds him that her grandparents had a fish market when she was growing up, but she always had someone else shuck them for her (after they were already cooked, of course – these ones are alive.) He shows her how to open them. Turns out, he had these flown in especially for her, taking a chance that he would be able to share it with her. She opens two of them to find pearls inside. She is very touched by his gift (they were a set of earrings). He takes them to clean them up and have them delivered to her in a proper box tomorrow. He goes over and gets very close to her to help her open the next one, and feeds it to her. She remarks that she is in heaven after tasting it, and he tells her that is why they are such an aphrodisiac. They get very intimate, when they spill sauce on both of them, prompting him to suggest getting out of their clothes. Sami comes out of the bathroom and asks for a shirt or a robe, as she grabbed her honeymoon bag by accident and only has a very skimpy outfit. He is not as embarrassed (or uncomfortable) as she is and goes to get her something when someone knocks on the door and EJ opens it to Austin. Austin wants to know if he is interrupting, but he wanted to come by to say good night. Sami tries to explain, and EJ leaves. He tells Sami she looks flushed, and she sounds a bit surprised as she comments that he looks green. She tells him how much she loves him, and he responds. EJ comes back out thinking Austin has left, since it was so quiet (;) lol!). EJ promises to be a perfect gentleman. Austin gives her his shirt, while telling EJ to put one on, and puts it on her with the command to not take it off! When he leaves, Sami is shocked and emotional that he was actually jealous and really wants to marry her. She can’t let Lexie ruin it for her. She leans on him. He offers her a robe, but she isn’t cold, just feels like she is being watched. He thinks the person writing the notes, but she thinks Austin is checking up on her. She checks the fire escape and closes the window. She is so happy that after tomorrow she is going to be Mrs. Austin Reed forever, as we see the black glove outside the window….and then the previews roll….

Lexie (crying): Isn’t there anything I can do to make this right?
Abe: Get an attorney.

Shawn: You don’t want me anywhere near your wife or my child.
Phillip: You’re right. I don’t.

Jack (with Jennifer): The guy is 10 years older than you are. What are you thinking?
Abby: Maybe I’m not thinking, just like Mom’s not thinking with Frankie.

Off to the credits (which I missed), but Barb told us that the writer’s name has been changed to Beth Millstein…

NOTE: THE EARLY EDITION FOR WEDNESDAY 8/16 will be posted early this afternoon.

Episode: 10,378
Directed by: Herb Stein
Tape Date: 7/19
Headwriter: James Reilly

Sami and Austin personally invite people to their wedding; Chelsea does her public service work at the hospital; John helps Bo investigate; Bo and Hope talk about the mysterious email she got; Kate is everywhere.

COP SHOP
John meets with Tek at the Cop Shop to offer his help in proving Bo’s innocence in the videotape swapping. Eve grows nervous and demands more money from “the glove”. John notices Eve’s name on the DUTY ROSTER that Tek shows him from that day. John suspects Eve as being someone who wants to move up fast and although he’s not on the case, suggests they set a trap for the blonde rat (my, two months in Europe sure clears one’s head). Later they have a plan and go out to the office to implement trapping Eve. John sees Patrick sitting at Bo’s desk filling out his application for the police academy (talk about ridiculous…NO WAY would that happen! He’d be sitting in a lobby filling it out or have to take it home.) He asks John if he can put him as one of his three references and John happily agrees, thanking him for his help in saving Marlena from Alex on the island. Patrick tells him about Bo’s plan to prevent him from being accepted to the academy.

John and Tek leave the Commanders Office (that everyone uses, haha). Tek gives Eve the duty roster to file and it falls to the floor. John reaches down to pick it up for her and flirts with Eve, saying he didn’t see a gold band on her finger. She says no diamonds either (guess the fact HE’S wearing a gold band isn’t worth mentioning) and he asks about a drink later, hoping he’s not moving too fast. She says fast is good and accepts. They exchange cards just as Kate walks in and Eve leaves. She mentions it looked like he was hitting on that officer and he says he and Marlena are separated. He says it’s just a drink and no big deal. She leaves and goes straight to the file room to ask Eve about the text message she sent her and tells Eve no one can find out they know each other (hmm, the public sure moves easily throughout the police station…again..the file room would be off limits as well).

BRADY HOME
Bo arrives and finds Patrick comforting Hope. She wants him to call first before coming there. He shows her the crumbled up divorce papers as his response to being served and reminds “boy scout” Patrick that Hope’s still a married woman. Patrick mentions dropping off something to headquarters and Hope says Patrick wants to go to the Police Academy. Bo angrily retorts “over his dead body.” Bo cheerfully will blacklist Patrick and toss the divorce papers in the trash at the same time. Bo said he doesn’t have to, the background check will eliminate him. Hope twists the knife more by saying she’d be Patrick’s partner if she weren’t pregnant. Patrick leaves and Bo asks how she could sleep with Patrick when she knew he loved her and wanted her back. She says she didn’t like the terms he stated in his email a few months back. He denies sending an email like that and she figures he’s gotten to be a good liar. We return to their arguing about the email she received and he realizes that’s why Hope has felt the way she has. He has a lightbulb moment as she realizes someone changed his email. She says he can’t blame Patrick and he says no, I think it was Chelsea. He’s always known that Chelsea was manipulative and selfish, but if she did change his email, he’ll never forgive her for doing that. He knew Chelsea wanted his support at the trial, but this would be too much. He asks Hope if Chelsea did alter his email, would she give their marriage another chance? He understands why she’s acted the way she has now. If she hadn’t gotten that email, she wouldn’t have been with Patrick or him Billie. He asks Fancy Face for another chance. She still doesn’t believe him without proof of the videotape tampering and email changing and says too much has happened. They can’t go back and she’s moving ahead with the divorce.

AUSTIN BLACK, INC.
While Austin and Kate listen from the background, EJ tries to convince Stephanie to work for them (on the phone). She caves and agrees to talk to her agents who will get back to them. Sami rushes in and insists Austin help her with the wedding the next day. Kate tries to keep him there for their meeting with EJ, but EJ says even the wedding is more important and they’re in a holding pattern anyway.

AT THE PUB
Lucas tells Stephanie (after overhearing her end of the conversation) he thinks she’s nuts to accept their offer. He tries to warn her about Kate, saying she his mother and he loves her, but she’s a monster, LOL. She’s done some morally questionable things. He also asks how much she knows about EJ Wells except for his heavy foot, pretty face and Oxford degree? He warns her that Max will kick her butt with the car/engine he has and his driving skills. Stephanie goes to leave and he apologizes saying she’s his wife’s cousin and thanks her for coming to their wedding and will be going to Sami’s the next day. She is surprised to hear about the wedding and Kate pops up behind her. Kate politely asks Stephanie to leave so she can talk with her son and she agrees. Kate reminds Lucas that if she hadn’t stopped his wedding with Sami, he wouldn’t be married to Carrie, the woman of his dreams, right now. Lucas hates to agree. Kate gets beeped to come to the PD and Lucas is suspicious, but she claims she’s on a steering committee for a benefit.

BACK AT AB, INC.
After Austin and Sami have left, EJ and Kate talk about the apartment dwellers. He says it sounds like she’s not a believer of Sami’s change and she agrees. He suggests they share some champagne and she comments how she can detect his own attraction to Sami and perhaps he should share that champagne with Sami later and maybe Austin will call off the wedding. We see Austin and Sami (who can’t stop kissing and hugging Austin with delight) as they’re at the hospital inviting people to come to the wedding.

Chelsea stands outside the hospital door talking to Abby on her cell phone, complaining about her public service filing job there. Lexie walks out and overhears, then reminds Chelsea no cell phones in the hospital after she hangs up. Chelsea walks in and asks Sami if she forgot to tell her bridesmaid (her) about the wedding the next day. They bicker back and forth as Sami tells Chelsea her bridesmaid dress will be ready. Chelsea snips about being prettier than the bride and Sami smiles saying she chose Chelsea to be her bridesmaid as she knew that wouldn’t be the case. Chelsea smilingly, retorts she was the only one who Sami could get, but if Sami wants to make some good money, see Rita in Accounting to bet on if she would actually make it through the vows this time. Austin backs Sami up and says she needs to get a good nights sleep, but Sami proclaims not tonight, they need to be apart the night before the wedding. EJ walks up saying Sami can sleep with him. He tries to correct that saying she can sleep in his bed..and uh, he’ll sleep on the sofa. Austin thanks him for the generous offer, but declines saying she can sleep at Carrie and Lucas’. He suggests she stay at the Penthouse, but she says she talked to her mom and she’s going through something and needed to be alone (I’m sure she’d make an exception for her daughter on the night before her wedding..especially Sami). Austin suggests the pub and Sami agrees, but then declines after saying her, Aunt Kayla and Stephanie all fighting for the bathroom the next morning…nope. She asks he change his mind about EJ’s offer saying they’d be closer that way too, and Austin agrees (guess his quickie with Carrie on the roof didn’t count). Lexie arrives and tells Chelsea she’s tired of checking on her and to get to filing (since when is the doctor responsible for overseeing that?) Chelsea takes off to work after saying it’s better than jail and Lexie asks Austin if he doesn’t want to reconsider. Lexie says “I know” and pauses…saying how challenging weddings are. Austin invites Lexie to come to their wedding and Lexie and Sami glare at each other after that. Lexie declines saying although she won’t have to work, she has some other important business the next day. Austin asks if it’s research and Lexie agrees, saying it could be explosive what she finds out. Sami watches nervously. Later Chelsea arrives at the desk with an armload of files. She tells Lexie that George in Administration gave her the next day off to go to Sami’s wedding. Chuckling, she tells Lexie watching Sami get married might be like watching the Titanic sinking. Lexie smiles, saying it will be something to watch. Sami watches from the background and knows Lexie is up to something. EJ assures her everything will be okay and asks if she’s going to accept his offer for the night at his place. She says yes and not to make a big deal about it. He disagrees and says they’ll celebrate her last night of being single. Austin walks up and overhears, staring nervously…as the previews roll…

Stephanie to Steve: I race cars for a living and Mom was about to go to a war zone to practice medicine. We can handle danger, what we could never handle is losing you again.

Austin visits EJ’s apartment and is greeted at the door by a shirtless EJ and Sami’s clothing is questionable too as she’s bareshouldered. Austin looks back and forth at them.

Patrick to Hope: Looks like we’re really stuck together now.
Hope: What are you talking about?

Eve to John (at a bar): I think we should call it a night.
John: I was hoping to get to know you better, much better…

As the credits roll…

Episode # 10,377
Tape Date: 7/18/06
Air Date: 8/14/06
Director: Albert Alarr

Summary: EJ, Kate and Austin form an alliance…Stephanie gets an offer that is hard to refuse…Bo is served with a summons…Sami and Austin go full steam ahead with their wedding plans…Steve does something that has Kayla believing he is on the verge of a breakthrough.

Chelsea tells Billie she needs her help. She is all upset and whining because she got her orders for community service. She will be working at the hospital as a file clerk. Billie tells her she should be on her knees and be thankful. Billie lectures as Chelsea whines that she has to start today. Billie thinks that something good will come of this but Chelsea says she would rather rot in prison. She storms out saying she is going to go enjoy her last few hours of freedom.

At the pub…Bo comes dragging in, telling “ma” he has been working around the clock trying to prove who tampered with the evidence. She wishes she could do something to help, so she goes to get him a bowl of chowder. Steve arrives as he and Bo talk about their plan to help each other out. He says he can’t remember anything, but admits that he is drawn to Kayla. She shows up as he beams when he sees her. The 3 of them chat as Caroline offers chowder all around and talks about how that was always Steve’s favorite, along with a glass of beer and a game of darts. He and Bo argue about who is the better player as Bo goes on about how Steve used to cheat, so they decide to settle it with a game. Later, they are playing darts as Bo and Steve argue over whether each of them has skill or luck. LOL at their quick banter and Bo says nothing has changed…Steve is STILL a know-it-all. Bo gets a bullseye and is rubbing it in as Billie arrives to pick up takeout. She meets Kayla and Steve (she explains that they were gone before she ever came to town) and says she has heard so much about them, it’s like she already knows them. Bo suggests they play partners but Kayla says it should be men vs. women…she would rather see Bo and Steve on the same team, lol. Steve talks about how he is so good, he can stand someone against the wall and outline them with darts and tries to get Kayla to do it. She refuses, but he says “don’t worry SWEETNESS…I never miss”. This stops everyone in their tracks, staring at him. He asks “what’s wrong?...what did I do?” as Bo is smiling at Kayla from ear to ear. He thinks he has offended her, but she explains that is what he used to call her all the time. She is hopeful that he is on the verge of a breakthrough. A courier arrives and serves Bo with a summons to divorce court and he explodes, tearing it to pieces. Kayla tells him it isn’t over yet and he says “damn right” and storms out of the place. Kayla tells Billie that Bo will do ANYTHING to get Hope back and she says he will never give up. Billie takes her order and leaves, telling them she will see them around. Steve says that is for sure. After she leaves, Kayla asks him if he meant that and he says yes…he is committed to getting his life back…as they smile at each other.

At Hope’s…Patrick shows up to find her in tears…she is upset because she had authorized Frankie to serve Bo with his divorce papers. Patrick asks why and she says she hadn’t wanted to admit it, but their marriage has been over for quite a while…it is time to move on. She says that she could probably forgive Bo for everything else, but not for tampering with and destroying the evidence against Chelsea. She says there is no point in dragging this on any longer, it is time to settle it so she can move forward…taking care of herself and her baby. She cries that she thought she and Bo would be together for ever…he was…is…will always be the love of her life, but it is over and this is best for everyone. Patrick says he hopes that her future includes him and she tells him of course, he IS the father of her baby and she wants him involved in the child’s life. This upsets him a bit and she presses him to tell her what’s wrong. The problem is, he doesn’t just want to be a part of the baby’s life, but also wants a relationship with her. She is taken aback and doesn’t know what to say. He back-pedals and tires to explain and says he wants to spend time with her. She says she would like that as well. He kisses her and then apologizes as Hope says they need to take it slow. He tells her he has an idea and needs her advice about a job. He thinks it is time to settle down and says he is considering becoming a cop. She thinks it would be a good idea, considering how many times he has saved people, but he isn’t even sure he could pass a background check. He puts his hand on her stomach and says he is grateful to her. They are hugging when Bo comes charging through the door and sees them (so furious, you can almost see steam coming out of his ears, lol).

At the garage…Max is there working when Stephanie arrives offering her help. She sees the plans for the turbo charger and wants to take a look, but Max says no. They playfully struggle over the plans and they end up in a very close embrace. She says she was only kidding about the plans and they break away…just as Chelsea comes in, asking if she is interrupting anything. Chelsea whines about her community service as Stephanie suggests they go and enjoy themselves for a little while. Max suggests they pack a picnic and go to the beach, but she says she has to start her service today and wishes she could get out of it. She explains what she is going to have to do and they don’t think it sounds so bad. She says he sounds like her mom. She says she requested being a dog walker for the animal shelter or being a ‘big sister’ to a little girl…or something fun. Stephanie asks if you get to request what you want to do. Chelsea says no, but she thought it was worth a try. Stephanie tells her that she used to be a candy striper at a hospital and she enjoyed it, but Chelsea doesn’t want to hear about it…saying hospitals are full of germs (I say send her to prison and see how she likes that!)

At Sami’s…both she and Austin are each on a phone, furiously making wedding plans (she is on with the florist and he with Father Jansen). EJ comes in and they tell him that they are getting married tomorrow. Kate walks in, saying NO, please tell me that isn’t true. Austin tries to calm her down but Kate doesn’t want to hear it. Austin says if she is going to be that way, maybe it’s best she not even come to the wedding. She says of course she will be there but keeps making snide comments about (and within earshot of) Sami. Sami comes over and calls her “mom” (LOL). She asks why such a hurry and Austin says they don’t want to wait. Sami invites EJ to the wedding as well and he offers to help any way he can. He asks about music for the reception (they have a DJ) and (luck of all luck) he knows the lead singer for a group, Blue October and says he will see if they will play for the reception. Both Sami and Austin are thrilled. But he is there for another reason…to talk business with them. He talks about marketing their product line and has an idea, saying they should think bigger. He wants them to all go into business together as equal partners and sponsor a race team. They are skeptical at first but Mr. Smooth Talker points out the advantages and tells them he already has someone in mind as a driver. He says they can use his name for promotion and they could be very successful. Kate and Austin discuss it and decide right on the spot that it is a great idea. (yea right).

Who does he have in mind as a driver?...you got it! None other than Stephanie. He goes over the garage just as Chelsea is still whining about her community service. He also tells her that she may find it rewarding if she goes into it with the right attitude. He tells them he is there to see Stephanie and suggests they talk privately. She says no, Max is her friend, and Chelsea…(she trails off, LOL). So he tells her that he, Kate and Austin have formed a company and will sponsor a race car and want her as their driver. Of course Chelsea is THRILLED to hear this and thinks it is a great idea, but not Max. EJ tries to convince her to agree, telling her she will have a state-of-the-art car and facilities. She tells him she will have to think it over. He wants to take her and show her the facilities (thought they weren’t even built yet???) so they leave. After they are gone, Chelsea notices that Max isn’t too excited over the idea, but she assures him that Stephanie will be fine…that this is a chance of a lifetime for her. She says today may not turn out too bad after all.

Back at Sami’s…she tells Austin that it looks like things may just turn out great for them…and within 24 hours, they will be married. They kiss as we see the black gloved hand caressing the #32 on her door…and the previews show…

Hope (to Bo): I love my daughter…I love my wife…you can’t have it both ways anymore. Bottom line is I AM going through with the divorce…

John (to a smiling Kate): Marlena and I are separated…

Lucas (to Stephanie, I think): Let me tell you something about Kate Roberts…she is a MONSTER…

EJ (to Sami): If this is your last night as a single woman…we have to make it special…especially if you are spending it with me (as Austin listens)…

And the credits roll…

Episode: 10376, Directed by Roger Inman; Tape Date: 7/17/06

Marlena returns to her office and tells Roman about her new project; Abby finds a job; tension at the Deveraux home; Belle tells Shawn goodbye and Philip tells Mimi about his suspicions.

PENTHOUSE
John and Marlena are in mid kiss as we join them. Marlena assures John of her love for him but it doesn’t change her feelings about wanting the separation. Wanting to make sure she knows how much he loves her, he starts peeling away her blouse. We return to them lying naked on the couch as she snuggles into his chest. They both say how much fun Europe was, but there’s no place like home. They talk about how they need to stand by Belle now and he says he always stands by his women. She tells him the separation is something she needs to do for herself. He tries to plead his case about being there while she does that, but caves and says he’ll get a room at the inn then. She kisses him gratefully.

John has a packed bag and calls his secretary (Joelle) to make a reservation for a suite for him at the Salem Inn. He tells her it’ll be just for him and for an indefinite amount of time (at least he’s not staying with Kate this time, LOL. Why couldn’t he make the reservation himself ?). Later he looks at the picture of him, Marlena and Belle and takes a last look at the penthouse before leaving.

THE HOSPITAL

Marlena unlocks her office door and looks inside. She throws away a dead plant in her office and sits at her desk glancing at the pictures on her desk. Roman steps in the open doorway and asks if it doesn’t feel good to be back. She rushes into his arms, saying how good it is to see him. She tells him how John’s been back longer and she stayed in NYC for seminars. They were all womens issues seminars and says how much she learned about herself. She learned how a woman’s physical and mental abuse can not only affect herself, but her children and family. She wants to use that knowledge and her own experience to start a group at the hospital to teach women self empowerment. Roman tells her he sees so many women at the cop shop that could use that and excited about the concept. He tells her about Carrie and Lucas’s wedding and her false/positive test results, so she’s not pregnant. She tells him she knows about Belle’s situation and he’s glad her parents are back to help her through this. She gets serious and tells him how she and John are separating. He’s surprised and she tells him how magical Europe was for them and they’re more in love then ever, but the separation is something she needs to do for herself and hopes it’s temporary. She tells him how he and John have always been so supportive to her. There’s no doubt in his mind that she’ll succeed and she hugs him in appreciation. She warns him to get use to the new her (we ALL are ready for that Marlena ;-)

DEVERAUX HOME
Jack’s dressed, sitting on the couch when Jennifer delivers his lunch to him on a tray. After putting a napkin on his lap, she watches his every bite of the sandwich, fussing over him like a nurse. He asks if they can talk about something other than his health when the doorbell rings. Jennifer’s mood brightens as she remembers Frankie was coming on his lunch hour (my, the mornings are quick in Salem, but the nights last WEEKS!) and answers the door to find Frankie with flowers for her. They kiss as Jack watches solemnly from the couch. Later we join Jack thanking Frankie for his help in getting him into the program and saving his life. Frankie says Jack’s sandwich looks really good and Jack offers him ½ of his, but Jennifer says she made him one as well and it’s on the counter in the kitchen. He goes to get it and Jennifer mentions to Jack that they could take Jack Jr. to the aquarium after he’s up to it. He laughs saying he doesn’t think he’s welcome back there, as she remembers an incident when Abby was young and thought the seals should get a popsicle. Jack climbed over the wrought iron fence and got stuck, saying it was his first wedgie, LOL. Frankie sadly listens to J&J happily reminiscing and joins them as the two are chuckling talking about he was busted by the security guard, etc. Frankie’s beeper goes off and he remembers he had to stop by the garage and see Max, yada yada and exits, stage left. He peers through the window to watch J&J happily chatting. Jennifer tells Jack he won’t get any of the Lemon Meringue pie that Aunt Maggie brought without finishing the sandwich first. Abby walks in, happy to see her parents having fun together. She tells them about her new summer job and they’re happy for her. She leaves the room and J&J both reach for the sandwich plate at the same time and faces are close together. They stare into each others faces a little uncomfortably and she goes to get him his pie, as if sensing how much things have changed between them now with Frankie in their lives.

THE LOFT
Philip returns and Mimi tells him she has decided to take control of her life (Marlena’s first workshop member?). She tells Philip about wanting to have a lawyer make custody arrangements to protect them. Philip doesn’t like that they’ve had to come to this, but understands her logic. She asks and he confirms still suing the hospital about the mixup. He’s starting to think someone did do this to them on purpose. Later she acknowledges never thinking that happened. She can understand that if one of them had a person with a grudge against them, but this will affect all of them (how about Jan? Whatever happened to her? She had a grudge against all of them AND Sami, didn’t she? Maybe she’s gotten a makeover and no one recognizes her?)

THE GARAGE

Abby asks Max for a job for the summer before going to college. He isn’t encouraging and says the garage is messy and not the best place for her to work. She promises to clean up the place and get them organized. He agrees they need help with that, but asks if she’d rather stay home with her dad now that he’s back home. She convinces him this is what she wants and he gives her the job, asking her to start with the appointment book. He feels like he’s missed something and she tells him EJ was there earlier. He forgot and is going to call and apologize, but she offers to do it for him and he agrees. Later Frankie arrives and happy to hear about Abby’s working for his brother. Max asks how things are going for him, Jack and Jennifer.

In the office, Belle tells Shawn that her parents made her realize she belongs with Philip, even though she’s carrying Shawn’s baby. He tells her that Mimi is his wife and he belongs with her. Belle realizes she should tell him goodbye, now almost in tears, and he tells her she doesn’t have to. Mimi’s listening in and surprised at that. Being they’re Claire’s Godparents, they want her in their life and hope they can all be friends. Shawn explains how difficult this is for Mimi under the circumstances and feels they’ll all get through this. He tells her Philip loves her and she says she does Philip, but a part of her will always love Shawn. He says his heart still belongs to Mimi. More talk of their high school days (yawn) and their time in Paris when he gave Mimi her first real kiss. She whines about how she was being a good sport and thought they’d always be together..not realizing that Mimi would come between them. He reminds her about after being kidnapped by Jan and coming home to find her with Philip (touché!). She realizes he wants her to face reality and returns something he gave her a long time ago. He looks at it, asking where it came from. He had given her the Irish ring her before and she had returned it. She knows, but saw it at Jan’s house (aha, Jan’s name is popping up now and then, can the gloved hand be JAN SPEARS?) and took it before he could give it to Jan. Crying, she had always hoped things would work out with them, but feels he should give it to Mimi now. Crying, she says she has to return home to her family, but he asks her to stay. She knows they can only be friends and he knows it’s the only way they can move on with their lives. She says good bye and walks out crying. He follows her part way and stops, freeze frame on his face as the previews roll…

HOPE TO PATRICK: I think it’s time for me to move on with my life and start focusing on my baby, our baby.

BO to KAYLA: I’ve been served with a summons to divorce court.
KAYLA: It’s not over yet.
BO (as he crumbles up the summons): Damned right it’s not.

STEPHANIE and MAX are face to face in each others arms, looking into each other’s face as CHELSEA walks up asking if she’s interrupting anything.

AUSTIN to SAMI: In the next 24 hrs. we’ll be husband and wife.
SAMI: Finally!
As we see the black gloved hand touching her apartment door……

As the credits roll (and Reilly is still the writer on the show..)

Episode # 10,375;
Tape Date: 7/14/06;
Air Date: 8/10/06;
Director: Herb Stein

Summary: It's a new day in Salem (at least I think it is!)...Marlena & John are back in town and try to help Belle...Mimi works to try to keep Belle out of their lives...Abby goes job hunting...and EJ takes over at the Roberts apartment.

Marlena arrives home as an anxious John says come to me baby and she runs to him and jumps in his arms They kiss as he says he missed her like crazy. (Supposedly she spent time at Green Mountain Lodge at a seminar.) John says he wants to concentrate on taking care of her. Belle arrives and asks her mom how she is doing and Marlena says okay. They ask how she's been and she tells them she's pregnant. They are excited and Marlena thinks Philip must be thrilled. Belle says Philip's not the father...Shawn is. In shock, they all sit, as Belle tells them the sordid scrambled egg story. Belle tells them that Philip thinks maybe it’s no accident and even suspects she did it on purpose. Belle fills them in on what’s been going on… about Philip’s accident and how he wanted both women to have abortions. Belle says she's happy it turned out this way and thinks it is a sign that she and Shawn belong together. John is upset and says he thought she and Philip doing okay. Belle tries to explain that even when Marlena had amnesia SHE understood the connection she had with Shawn. Marlena says this is a mistake, Shawn's married to Mimi. But Belle says he loves me. John says he knows how it is to see the one you love in love with someone else (lol, strange look from Marlena). Then Belle talks about how her mom being married to Roman, and how they, Carrie, Sami & Eric were a family…and then how happy her parents were with her and Brady as well. Marlena talks about when she got pregnant with Belle, it was an act of love...not like this situation. They tell her this is wrong as Belle tears up.

After Belle leaves, Marlena is worried and John tells her not to worry, she is smart like her mother, who he loves so much. Marlena gets this strange look and John wants to know what’s wrong…what's on her mind? Marlena says it is about us. While I was gone, I had a lot of time to think...I'm not the same strong woman I used to be. Alex abused me and I let that happen. She talks about how Stefano and Tony did as well and she always turned to him to rescue her and she feels she put way too much on him. John says that's what couples in love do for each other. Marlena says she has to stand on her own two feet. John asks her what she’s getting at and Marlena says she needs them to separate. John is shocked to hear this and says she’s going too fast…when they're not even legally married. Marlena tells him how he is the one man she's loved with her whole heart but she needs to find herself first. John says this has been hell for all of them and she has always been his strength and wants to be there for her now. Marlena says he can't change her mind and he grabs her and lays a big ole wet one on her.

Sami and Austin are working as she is mubling about Lucas and Carrie living there and is upset that Austin invited them without asking her (well, it is HER place). Lucas and Carrie overhear this and come into the living room and tell Sami and Austin not to worry, they are moving out. Meanwhile, EJ is doing some eavesdropping of his own. Austin tells them they don't have to leave, but Lucas thinks it's for the best…but not to worry, they will find someplace else to go. Austin and Sami backtrack, trying to convince them not to leave. EJ knocks and says he overheard the conversation and has an idea. He suggests helping with the renovation (claiming he has done some of that type of work…well, isn’t he just a jack of all trades?). Sami thinks they should take him up on his offer. Lucas and Carrie concede and the three of them go over to the apartment. Sami is thrilled they will be out of there, notices a change in Austin’s demeanor and asks if he is disappointed that Carrie and Lucas are leaving. EJ thinks the apartment isn't that bad and thinks he can have them back in the apartment by tonight. Lucas goes to get started and Carrie asks EJ why he is really doing this. Austin tells Sami he isn’t disappointed by them moving out, he will get more time with his fiancée and they kiss. She asks if they are really going to get married this time and Austin says he thinks they should do it as soon as possible as an excited Sami jumps into his arms. EJ tells Carrie that he is helping because he is their friend. He assures Carrie he will never tell about her and Austin. Carrie goes downstairs to meet the contractor as Lucas comes out and thanks EJ for the help. EJ inquires about the Lucas/Austin relationship. Lucas admits that they have had problems, mainly because of Sami, but assures EJ he is happy with Carrie. Sami is ready to start planning her wedding. She tells Austin, she knows they are going to be happy. Austin tells her to calm down but she wants to tell Carrie and Lucas and make sure they are available for whatever date she and Austin pick. EJ tells Lucas and Carrie he has to go over to Max's garage and leaves. Carrie tells Lucas she's glad to get away from Sami and Austin's apartment and he says as soon as they finish the apartment it will be just him and Carrie (what about Will?). Sami and Austin come barging in to give them the wedding news.

At the Garage…Abby arrives to see Shawn. They talk about how Jack is improving but she has an ulterior motive…she is looking for a job. Mimi comes in and Abby leaves them alone to talk. He starts to say something but Mimi interrupts him with a kiss. Shawn stops her, saying he has a lot of paperwork to do for the patent. Shawn apologizes about what happened at the hospital and says he is committed to only her. Mimi says that doesn’t mean a thing if there is no love. But Shawn insists he DOES love her. Mimi says she fears he loves Belle more. Shawn says that’s not the case. Only problem is Mimi doesn’t trust Belle. She asks what will he do next time she throws herself at him. Shawn tries to explain that Belle was emotional and Philip wasn’t there for her. He tells Mimi that she is spontaneous and fun and inspires him…and he wants her to be secure in their relationship. He says he would do anything to make her feel better about their future. Mimi says there is something he can do. She is having a hard time with Belle being pregnant with his baby. Shawn says they will have to make the best of the situation, but Mimi wants to do more than that. She wants to have a court order in advance to decide what the arrangements will be. Shawn tells her he will talk to Mickey about it. Mimi fears that Belle will use the baby as an excuse to worm her way into their lives and wants ground rules before hand. Belle walks in (and apparently overheard) and asks what’s going on. Belle is hurt that she thinks Shawn and Mimi are plotting behind her back. She thinks the four of them should sit down and discuss this together. Mimi says she thinks so too, but just doesn't trust Belle any more. Belle tells her that she has come to say goodbye to Shawn.

Abby is reading about EJ in a magazine when he walks in. She tells him Max and Shawn are unavailable right now and he says then that will give them a chance to get to know each other. He tells Abby some cock n bull story about a race and she says she is turning into a fan. He finally tells her that he may have a job for her and she tells him that she had just asked Shawn for a job but he is going to have to ask Max. He tells her if she changes her mind, the offer stands. As he goes to leave, he takes her hand and tells her to tell Shawn he was there…as Abby swoons.

Meanwhile, Mimi tells Belle she is full of (sh)it. She could never say goodbye to Shawn. But, Belle says it's time to end things with Shawn. She asks for a few moments with Shawn as an annoyed Mimi rolls her eyes. She leaves, but stops outside the door to listen. Shawn tells Belle she will be a lot happier with this decisionas Belle says it was such a hard decision. Shawn asks “Is this really goodbye?”…as the previews show…

Roman (to Marlena): Is there something wrong? (Marlena): No, no…John and I are separating…

Frankie (to Jenn): For you, beautiful…(as he hands her a bouquet of flowers and kisses her)…

Philip (to Mimi): I do not think this was an accident…(Mimi): WHAT?...(Philip): I think someone did this to us on purpose…

Shawn (to Belle): Where did this come from?...

And the credits roll…

Episode #10,374
Tape date-7/13
Director-Phil Sogard

Sami gets Uncle Bo to do her bidding & Kate is brought in for questioning. Meanwhile, Jack is now well enough to go home, while Carrie makes another unhappy decision.

AT THE COP SHOP we have a repeat of Sami rushing in with EJ to beg Uncle Bo to test the envelope for her. He is leery, figuring there must be a crime, and perhaps Sami is the culprit. She denies it, and pleads with him to do her this favor. He refuses, and she says she will ask her dad. LOL, as Bo says that would be a good idea, let’s wake him up, and drag him down here to hear you. Just then an officer brings in an indignant Kate, protesting all the time about who she is, and how she is going to have his badge. Sami gets a kick out of seeing her brought in, and denies having anything to do with it, tho she wishes she had. Sami keeps begging Uncle Bo, who finally caves, and orders dirty cop, Eve Michaels to take the envelope to the lab. Bo questions Kate a tiny bit, but she smoothly denies knowing anything, telling him that the evidence points to him and no one else as the culprit who took the evidence. Bo reminds her that ever since they found Chelsea, she has been interfering in her life, and in his, especially wanting Billie to be with him. Eve returns with the results (boy, that lab does fast work), hand them to Sami. She is surprised that EJ’s fingerprints were on the envelope, but he says she gave him the note to read. She remembers distinctly that she only gave him the note and not the envelope. He says that the note was around the apt. for some time, and he could have touched it at some point. There was no saliva on the seal, so that is a dead end. A worried Eve & Kate exchange a few words, as Kate assures her that there is nothing to connect them to the missing disc, and not to worry. Later, alone, Bo calls “Hank” and pulls a favor. He wants all the phone records for Kate Roberts. Evidently they get faxed, as later Bo is telling the person on the phone that he got them, and thanks him.

JACK IS SITTING UP IN BED, feeling pretty frisky, evidently well enough to go home. He tells Jen & Frankie that now that he is no longer dying, they need to talk about what they’re going to do. He doesn’t want to, says she and Frankie are married and he should go to a hotel. Jen insists he come home. The nurse brings in the papers for his release….and then we later see Jack, Jen & Frankie walking into the Deveraux house. Frankie says he is going to move back into the garage apt. but Jack says absolutely not. He is tired, but will not go to the bedroom, instead will use the guest room. Jen protests, but Jack is insistent and goes upstairs. Jen and Frankie talk a bit. He knows how much Jen loves Jack. She is upset, as this is what she has prayed for, (Jack’s recovery) and how every time there is something big, Jack pushes her away. Jack comes downstairs, and listens as they talk. They agree the lst order of business is to nurse Jack back to health. After that?? Jen doesn’t know. She says she would understand if he would leave. He asks if she wants him to, and she says no. Frankie says that as long as she wants him there, he will stay. They hug, Jack watches, and Frankie tells her the lst step is to help Jack get better.

ON THE ROOF, Carrie & Austin are kissing, but she is also protesting that this is all wrong and they talk about hurting Lucas & Sami. They go round and round, saying much of the same thing over and over, arguing about Lucas, about Sami and about themselves. She tells Austin that Sami loves him so much, and he tells her yes, and Sami loved Lucas so much, and loved Brandon so much. Carrie thinks they have to leave things the way they are, and he has to marry Sami. They return to the apt, and both decide to go to bed.

Sami & EJ return, and EJ again is urging her to tell Austin. She will not, is determined to marry Austin as this is her dream. She thanks EJ, and goes into her apt. As EJ starts to go into his, Carrie appears. (I have no idea where she came from or why she was in the hall). She thanks him for his discretion, telling him that what he saw between her & Austin will never happen again. Sami loves Austin, she herself had her chance with him long ago and blew it, and Austin will marry Sami. EJ agrees that things should remain as they are, and promised never to reveal what he saw.

Inside her apt., Sami crawls into bed next to Austin, kisses him a few times. He tells her he just wants to hold her for a while. She sighs at how happy she is, and how she would die if she lost him. He has something to tell her. It is how much he cares about her, and she does the same to him. And the previews roll…..

ABBY: You might be turning me into a huge fan
EJ: Oh, I might have a job for you.
ABBY:
Really?

SHAWN: Anything to make you feel more secure about us and our future
Mimi:
Actually, there’s something you CAN do

JOHN: So what are you getting at?
MARLENA:
I need us to separate

AUSTIN: Yeah, we should get married as soon as possible
SAMI:
(giggling and obviously very happy) Oh, Austin…..as she throws her arms around him.

Tuesday, August 8th

Episode: 10,373
Directed by: Roger Inman
Tape Date: 7/12/06

More of the same with the loft and apartment dwellers…talk and ranting about who belongs with who (YAWN), Steve and Bo rekindle their relationship by helping each other get their wives back (good scenes!).

THE LOFT DWELLERS
Mimi, Shawn and Philip stand next to Belle’s bed. Philip goes to sign Belle out and Shawn offers to stay, but Belle and Mimi say they can handle everything. Belle mentions Bonnie’s babysitting Claire and Mimi replies that Bonnie’s read Belle’s journal too. They read how Belle daydreams about Shawn while even washing the dishes, etc. Belle denies wanting Shawn. Mimi tells Belle she can type away in her journal all she wants, but she’s not getting her husband. Belle knows this isn’t the real Mimi, she’s just angry. Mimi agrees she is and goes on about how Belle always manages to act like the damsel in distress to get Shawn to come to her rescue. Mimi says Belle LOST Shawn when she married him. Belle decides to toughen up and says, you forgot…I’m pregnant with his baby. Mimi tells Belle that no matter how many of Shawn’s babies she has, he’s still HER husband. Belle’s heard enough, saying she wants to go home to her daughter and husband. Mimi is on a roll and rants she wants to say everything she’s thought all these years about the spoiled princess…Miss Salem High. Belle stops Mimi and says she would never hurt Mimi intentionally. Mimi threatens Belle to keep her filthy hands off Shawn. She made her bed with Philip and has to stay in it. Belle’s the reason she lost Rex and she’s a Lockhart and not going to give up Shawn. The day Belle does anything to come between her and Shawn…all she can say is God help her!

Shawn follows Philip to the nurses station and offers to drive them home. Philip resents Shawn’s acting like Belle’s husband just because he’s the father of her baby and tells him he’ll drive his wife home himself. Shawn assures Philip he has no reason to be insecure about his marriage just because he’s the father of Belle’s baby. Philip vows to love this baby as much as Claire, even if he’s not the biological father. He will raise this baby as his own. The guys sip decaf and rationally discuss the situation. Philip wonders if the scrambled eggs wasn’t an accident..(no, he doesn’t say those exact words, but wanted to keep you awake during this rerun of a rerun of dialog) Shawn is surprised at this idea and can’t think of anyone who would do this. Philip feels it wasn’t an accident.

THE APARTMENT DWELLERS
Carrie waves to Lucas as he goes to take Will’s parental consent form for football camp so he can play the next day. Sami feels bad that Carrie will be alone that night after all that’s happened, but Carrie says she just wants to go to bed…(uh, yeah, this night has lasted weeks hasn’t it?). Austin and Carrie whisper about what happened earlier and worried that EJ will tell Sami. She can’t explain why, but says she has to focus on her marriage to Lucas. Austin won’t back down and wants to talk. Carrie suggests meeting on the fire escape, but they can’t let what happened earlier reoccur. EJ warns Sami her relationship with Austin is fragile and she might lose him to Carrie. He admires her “pluckiness” and she says she does better when her back’s against the wall. Carrie excuses herself to go to bed. Austin says he has to make a call to Tokyo and excuses himself. Sami says she also has work to do (doesn’t anyone ever sleep in Salem?) EJ continues his warning saying Sami needs to get out of her own way. Sami repeats her mantra I WON’T LOSE AUSTIN. EJ worries that whoever is sending those notes will hurt her and wants her to tell Austin the truth. She has a lightbulb moment and knows what to do now, saying she won’t have to tell anyone anything. She dons her kitchen yellow plastic gloves and puts the note in a plastic bag and will have her dad check for fingerprints. She won’t show him the note, just the envelope, saying no one messes with Sami Brady!

Carrie and Austin meet up on the roof and she apologizes for her earlier actions. He knows they’re meant to be together. Carrie reflects how her baby sister Belle had had a baby when she got back to Salem and she had gotten over Shawn, married Philip and had his baby and was happy. Austin doesn’t believe Belle’s that happy. Carrie rants how she cheated on him with Mike and broke his heart twice by marrying Lucas now. She doesn’t deserve him. Austin says her whole relationship is odd as she thought she was pregnant with Lucas’ baby. She can’t do this to Lucas and asks what he’s going to do about Sami? He’s engaged to her and now he’s thinking about renigging on that? Austin knows that Lucas and Sami still love each other and they’d be doing them a favor. Besides, he loves her (Carrie) and he knows she loves him. Carrie says in a perfect world they could be together, but it’s not going to happen. This is the way it has to be. He says if this is the last time they can be together, he wants something to remember her by. He leans down to kiss her and she grabs his head as she passionately kisses him back. They stop and feel guilty about what they did. Austin says love sucks..it hurts, then kisses her again.

COP SHOP
Steve visits Bo in the Cop Shop to ask for his help. Kayla told him where to find her brother. Bo explains he’s working to save his marriage by proving he didn’t tamper with the videotape for Chelsea’s trial. Steve said he needs Bo’s help to save his own marriage. He kids about the light is on, but nobody’s home..pointing to his head (LOL). Steve mentions hearing he worked there in the cop shop/ISA and maybe has something in his head they don’t want remembered, saying maybe the Dimera’s are behind this. He’s a fast learner and offers to help with the leg work on Bo’s case so he can free up Bo to help him get his memory back. Bo’s worried about Steve maybe wanting to kill him after he gets his memory back. Bo explains he’s the one responsible for Steve’s losing his eye and wearing that patch. He explains how they both fell in love with the same woman while in the Merchant Marines and got into a brawl over her when Steve lost his eye (cue a short flashback..you can read more about this on Dustin and Beth’s sites..link on EE page). Back to present Steve tells Bo that he already knew that, Kayla had told him about it. She also told him over time Steve forgave Bo and they were friends. Bo’s relieved and said they were like brothers. Steve says he needs Bo’s help to restore his hard drive (pointing to his head) and getting him back with Kayla and he’ll help Bo find who messed with the tape and get him back with Hope. Bo tells “bro” he has a deal. Steve thinks Chelsea is the prime suspect. Bo says no and doesn’t believe it’s Billie either when Steve suggests her. She’s turned her life around, but thinks and realizes who it could be. He thanks Steve for the lead. Later he orders that Kate Roberts be brought in for questioning.

Steve leaves and Sami says hi to him, then walks into Bo’s office. Without any explanations, she tells him she needs a fingerprint and DNA analysis done on this envelope. He asks if there was a crime and she says no, it’s personal and needs the results ASAP. Bo stands up and says there’s a procedure and a report needs to be filed if there was a crime involved. She doesn’t have time to do a report. He feels Sami’s hiding something and maybe she’s the one who committed a crime…cue freeze frame on Bo’s face…as the previews roll…..

JACK TO JENNIFER AND FRANKIE: I wish there was something I could do to clear up this made I made. I don’t think I should go home with you. I can’t.

AUSTIN TO CARRIE: Say it.
CARRIE: I want to be with you.

KATE TO THE DIRTY COP: What’s that little tramp up to?
DIRTY COP: The only one I’m worried about is Bo Brady. This isn’t just a case to him and he’s not going to give up.

SAMI looks at something and says OH NO, looking at EJ ...

Episode # 10372, Tape Date: 7/12/06; Air Date: 8/7/06; Director: Roger Inman

Summary: Mimi confronts Belle about her feelings…Bonnie and Kate think that maybe the mix up was on purpose…Kayla and Steve can’t get each other off their minds…Sami decides she isn’t going to tell Austin the truth about the notes.

At the Loft…Bonnie is dancing and drinking when Kate comes pounding on the door. Bonnie had called her telling her it was an emergency. She fills Kate in on the state of their kids’ marriages. She tells her that Belle is having Shawn’s baby and as Bonnie continues with the sordid tale, Kate doesn’t believe her. Bonnie tells her it gets better. Kate (who has been out of town) can’t believe that Philip hasn’t told her any of this…then learns that Philip was injured in an accident. After hearing all that Bonnie has to say, Kate decides she needs another drink. Bonnie continues on to tell her about how she and Mimi found Belle’s diary and what it said. Kate says they have to stop Belle…this is war. She says they have to keep Belle and Shawn apart, but Bonnie thinks that won’t be easy. Kate says they have to work together, they have the same goal…to see their children happy. Philip comes in asking what is going on. Bonnie tries to leave but Philip demands to know what is wrong. They tell him about Belle being in the hospital as he freaks out and leaves. After he is gone, they congratulate each other, pleased at how it turned out. They talk as Kate tries to figure out how all the scrambled eggs mess happened. She talks about how it happened to her and considers the odds of it happening to her son. She has a light bulb moment and thinks that maybe it was done intentionally…in an effort to wreak havoc in their children’s lives.

At the Hopsital…Mimi tells Shawn and Belle that she saw them kissing and demands that they be honest with her. She brings up the diary as Belle can’t believe that she read it. But Mimi blasts her and blurts out what she read. Shawn tries to get her to shut up, but she yells at HIM to shut up. She says she SAW them kissing and wants Belle to just admit that she still loves Shawn. She demands that Belle tell her the truth and finally Belle admits it…yes, she still loves Shawn…she always has and probably always will. Mimi is shocked to finally hear her admit it and reminds Belle of her wedding vows…how she vowed to “forsake all others and cleave to Philip”. She says when she walked in, there looks as if there was some heavy cleaving going on with Shawn (LOL). Belle tries to explain that when she wrote those things in her diary, she was on heavy doses of hormones and tries to blame it on that. But Mimi isn’t buying it…she demands to know why they were kissing when she walked in. Belle says she was scared that she was losing the baby and that she kissed Shawn out of relief to learn she wasn’t. Shawn backs her up, saying that the kiss was not out of love. He tells Mimi that SHE is the one he loves and that it is nothing she should worry about. AS he is professing his love to Mimi, it shows Belle with tears rolling down her cheeks. Philip comes barging in wanting to know what is going on.

In Cincinnati…Steve and Della are still at the bar and she tells him to go home, but he wants to know WHERE home is. She tells him that his home is here with her. But he doesn’t seem too happy about it. He says he misses Kayla already. He goes over to the jukebox and plays a love song (If Your Heart Comes Out Tonight is the song...Stephen mentioned this song coming up in his SOAPNet interview). Della thinks the song is crap). She says that he would NEVER like a song like that, but he says it is like he knows that song. She thinks he is remembering his past and walks away. He stops her and calls her “Kayla”. She asks if she has lost him…is he Nick or Steve?

At the Brady Pub…Kayla sits at the bar alone eating Ma’s famous chocolate cake when she is joined by Stephanie who can’t sleep either. They eat cake and talk about losing at love. Kayla says she has feelings for someone who doesn’t know how she feels and her mom is in love with someone who doesn’t even remember her. Stephanie turns on the radio and stops on a song (the same one Steve is playing) as Kayla says it used to be his favorite. Kayla turns off the radio and tells Stephanie she is sorry that she got cheated out of a life with her father. Stephanie says at least she got to meet him. Kayla tells her that maybe she needs to move on, but it has made it even harder since she saw him. Kayla pushes Stephanie to tell her who the guy she is sweet on, but she won’t say. Kayla says maybe then he isn’t “the one” but Stephanie thinks different. Kayla tells her that whatever happens, they will both be happy someday. They hug and Stephanie heads back upstairs to bed. Kayla goes back to the radio and turns it on. As she listens to the song, she looks over and sees Steve at the door looking in. She lets him in asking why he is there. He tells her that he doesn’t remember their life together, but she got to him…and he realized that he couldn’t let her get away. He begs her for a chance as she pulls him in and they kiss. From the stairway...Stephanie sees them and smiles.

At Sami’s…Lucas and Sami ask Austin and Carrie where they have been…just as EJ walks up. Austin has a bag of danish and Carrie says she was out on the fire escape for air. Sami passes out the Danish as Lucas gets coffee and they all enjoy. But Austin and Carrie can’t keep their eyes off each other. They have idle chit chat about EJ’s life in Paris and Sami says maybe he can give her some ideas about where she and Austin can go on their honeymoon. After they finish, Austin pulls EJ aside and thanks him for not telling on them. EJ says he has a reason for keeping his mouth shut (Hmmmm). Sami tells Carrie she is so sorry about losing the baby. Carrie talks about what a great mother Sami is and Sami reminds her that she is now a step-mother to Will. But it isn’t the same…Carrie says Will is almost grown and she wanted children of her own. They hug as Lucas thanks Sami for her support. Austin worries about breaking Sami’s heart. He tells EJ that Sami has turned her life around and EJ says that Sami did it all for Austin. Lucas gets a phone call as Austin tells Carrie that they need to talk. She tells Austin that can never happen again and goes over and hugs Lucas. Sami tells EJ that Lucas and Carrie are so happy and she can’t tell everyone the truth now and ruin their happiness. She is sure that everything is going to work out for everyone and flashes her ring at him. He asks her about the person sending the letters but she is sure that she has everything under control. As Sami goes over and hugs Austin, EJ looks at the four of them and just shakes his head…and the previews show…

Bo (to Steve): I am a little worried about you getting your memory back…you just might want to kill me…

Sami (to EJ): I am not going to lose Austin…I don’t care what it takes or what I have to do…

Austin (to Carrie): You’ve got no business being with my brother…you don’t love him…

Mimi (to Belle): One thing you will never have for the rest of your life…is my husband…

Philip (to Shawn): You and Belle will have the baby you have always dreamed of…and I think that somebody did that on purpose…

And the credits roll…

Episode: 10,371
Directed by: Deveney Kelly
Tape Date: 7/21/06
Air Date: 8/4/06 (although it SAYS 8/24/06)

The same evening continues as the apartment dwellers continue exploring their true feelings (with EJ popping back and forth); the loft dwellers do the same at the hospital; the younger crowd are at the pub to celebrate Jack’s recovery. (Guessing this is the first step for the new writers to get some real love back into Salem?)

AT THE PUB
The pub is closed and Max and Chelsea sit at a small candlelit table. He mentions having pull as it’s his parents pub (and she mentions them being her grandparents as well), talking about Stephanie. Chelsea confirms she wants a relationship with him and Stephanie walks in. Chelsea gets snippy, but Stephanie reminds her she’s staying at the pub too and isn’t after Max. She jokes about beating Max at racing and gets him going into a who’s better on the track dialog as Chelsea watches. Chelsea tells Max he’s going to win every race for her as Stephanie stares on. Stephanie steps outside and Abby arrives and tells Stephanie about her dad’s pulling through. Stephanie asks what’s happening with Frankie now and Abby says her parents are married. She tells Abby that Max and Chelsea are inside if she wants to tell them the good news. Abby walks in and does so. Chelsea doesn’t mind the interruption as the news was so good and suggests they celebrate. Abby wants to ask her cousin Stephanie inside to join them and reluctantly Chelsea agrees. Abby convinces Stephanie to join them, saying they’re all family (yeah, all four of them, haha). Max promises Chelsea that they can go out some other night, maybe to Chez Rouge. Stephanie heads to the bar for drinks and Max steps over to help her. He apologizes for what happened at the garage earlier and she says it was a nice tube of lipstick Chelsea ruined. He said he’ll hint about her replacing it. She asks if Chelsea will replace his car too as Chelsea watches suspiciously and tells Abby she still thinks Stephanie is after Max.

THE APARTMENT DWELLERS at the hospital
We see Shawn kissing Belle as Mimi arrives at the nurses station. He feels bad afterward and says she’s pregnant with his baby by accident. Belle tells him she loves him. He says they both moved on. She said she doesn’t want either Philip or Mimi to have a spouse that doesn’t love them with nothing less than a full heart. She cries she gave her marriage a chance, but it isn’t working. Mimi walks in and sees them close and asks what’s going on here. Mimi senses the situation and comments how it reminds her of when she was brought to the hospital. Belle tells Mimi she can leave if she wants and Mimi asks if she’s trying to get rid of her and asks if they’ve called Philip yet. Belle tells her no, Philip should be on his way home from the hospital (isn’t he still recovering from smashing up Max’s car..should he be driving alone?…and where’s Victor, his father during all this?) and there was nothing that he could’ve done. Mimi asks if they’re trying to get rid of her. The doctor arrives and says the baby is fine, the stretching of the uterine wall is normal at this stage and the rest of what she was experiencing was due to stress. Belle admits having that lately. The doctor suggests REST and will prescribe a new prenatal vitamin with extra iron in it as Belle’s iron was low. Mimi suggests Belle can call Philip now with the good news and seconds later a nurse arrives with the vitamins in a paper sack for Belle (wow…that hospital pharmacy is on the ball!!!) She comments how she should recommend being kissed by their husbands to all her patients as it certainly worked for her. Mimi speaks up and the nurse realizes Shawn is not Belle’s husband and exits, stage right as fast as she can. Mimi comments about Belle kissing her husband. Mimi, frustrated and angry, tells them it’s time they were all honest.

THE APARTMENT DWELLERS
On the roof, Austin and Carrie kiss and she asks him to make love to her tonight…he lies his jacket down and she slips her gown off her shoulder as EJ steps out on the roof. He sees Austin and Carrie and steps back inside unseen.

Lucas finds Carrie gone and Sami and he both figure the same and rush to the door. EJ steps out says they’re too late..but later says Austin was at the garbage bin and Carrie on the fire escape, probably getting fresh air. We see Austin and Carrie kissing (he’s still got his pants on and she’s under the tablecloth, (but apparently naked) They tell each other they love each other and he promises to never leave her.

Back in the apartment, Sami and Lucas banter as usual as EJ watches. Lucas goes to look for Carrie on the fire escape and EJ asks if she really doesn’t love Lucas? She denies it, saying she’s in love with Austin. EJ promises to be there for her if she needs it.

Austin and Carrie continue kissing and glowing in their love together on the rooftop. We see the door to the roof open . It’s EJ. He walks out on the roof and at first Carrie and Austin look offended, LOL, but he tells them it’s the roof and how he saw them earlier and sidetracked Sami and Lucas from coming up and finding them. They apologize and thank him. Austin wants to make full disclosure and Carrie agrees, but EJ tells them to rethink that as it would devastate Sami and Lucas. Carrie agrees, but Austin tells her he has no regrets and she waffles back saying she doesn’t either. She figures they have to break this to Lucas and Sami gently. EJ has an idea what they can too and they’ll need to act fast. Later we see Carrie and EJ as he says he doesn’t want anyone hurt. She agrees and excuses herself to climb UP ?? a fire escape.

Back in the apartment Sami and rendevous, neither finding Austin or Carrie. They apologize for their earlier words and looking her in the eyes says he does love her and happy she became the person he thought she’d always be. She knows he means what he’s saying, regretting things didn’t work out for them. She tells him he’s wrong, she’s a total fraud. She always tells everyone she’s changed, but she’s even lying to herself. She’s still a manipulative bitch. He tells her she’s wrong and has loved Austin since she was 15 years old. She knows her happiness won’t last and Austin will leave her on their wedding day again. They don’t see Austin return carrying a bag (ice cream?) and Carrie from the bedroom overhearing. She tells Lucas she doesn’t think Austin wants Carrie, she knows it. Lucas puts his arm around her and hugs her, saying he’s with Carrie for the long haul, just like she is with Austin. Carrie and Austin watch and exchange glances watching…and of course, EJ walks in and sees it too saying to himself, this won’t end well…..as the previews roll…

MIMI to BELLE: You’re really not going to tell me that you’re not in love with my husband.
BELLE: Yes, I am.

KATE TO BONNIE: What if it wasn’t a mix up. What if someone did it to hurt our children?
BONNIE: Why?
KATE: To hurt our children.

STEVE TO KAYLA: I want you.
KAYLA: Ssssh…as she leans forward and kisses him.

SAMI TO EJ: I’m not going to ruin everybody’s happiness by telling Austin the truth about my little secret.

Thursday August 3, 2006

Episode # 10370, Tape Date: 7/10/06; Air Date: 8/3/06; Director: Jim Baffico

Summary: Well, this one is all about forbidden love…Lucas and Sami’s feelings for each other are invading their dreams…Austin and Carrie can’t keep their hands off each other…Belle professes her love for Shawn…as Mimi and Bonnie learn how Belle truly feels about Shawn.

At the Loft…Mimi is with a fussy Claire when Bonnie comes barging in (Mimi’s blabbermouth brother told her what was going on…she should make a note to herself to NOT trust Patrick). Bonnie gives her flack for allowing Shawn to take Belle to the hospital. Mimi doesn’t want to hear it and then begins to worry that she hasn’t heard from them. Mimi checks Belle’s laptop to see if Shawn messaged her and stumbles on Belle’s electronic diary. Bonnie starts reading and says “Good Lord Almighty!” Bonnie wants to read it all and Mimi says no, but Bonnie tries to convince her they need to. Bonnie reads where Belle wrote that she loves Shawn now more than ever, since learning she is pregnant. Mimi says that Bonnie is always trying to get her into trouble but Bonnie says no, she needs to fight for her man. She says if Mimi isn’t going to read it, then SHE is…and continues on. She reads aloud how Belle wrote she hopes the baby looks like him and how she loves him and longs for them to be a family. Bonnie says if she lets Belle steal Shawn away, it will be her own fault. She urges Mimi to fight for Shawn but Mimi says that Belle is holding all the cards. Mimi decides to call the hospital to see what is going on and gets the nurses station. From one of those big-mouth nurses, she learns that the doctor has ordered some tests and that Belle is with her HUSBAND. Mimi assumes she means Philip, but learns his name is Shawn. The nurse just assumed that he was her husband from the way they were carrying on. She gets off the phone and tells Bonnie and she tells her not to take this. So Mimi decides she is going over to the hospital to see what is going on for herself. She charges out the door with Bonnie cheering her on.

At the Hospital…Shawn wants to call someone for Belle…her parents…Philip…Sami…Carrie? But she says no, she only wants him there with her. Dr. Ross checks her vitals and tells them she is ordering some tests, including an ultrasound. Shawn tries to calm Belle’s nerves and wants to call Mimi and tell her what is going on. But Belle stops him, saying the phone will wake up Claire. She doesn’t want Philip there either, noting that the hates the idea of this baby. Belle believes that this is a sign that they (she and Shawn) belong together. Shawn tells her that can never be but she reminds him of when Claire had her transplant and they both had the same dream of Zack telling them they belong together. Shawn says that this baby is a gift and he doesn’t want to see her lose it. She says she is going to try her best not to as he leans in and they kiss. As they kiss, a nurse (mentioned above) sees them. He stops Belle, telling her they can’t do this…and hurt Philip and Mimi. Belle tells him that marrying Philip was a mistake…because she still loved Shawn. She wishes she could turn back the clock. She says that Mimi and Philip deserve to know the truth…if they don’t already know. She says that she knows their love is only going to strengthen with each passing day…and they can’t stop it…as he leans in and they kiss again.

At Sami’s Apartment…Sami is in bed tossing and turning and begins to dream of Austin in bed kissing her. She looks at his face and he has changed into Lucas. Meanwhile, Lucas is also dreaming of him and Carrie in bed…as she too changes…into Sami. They are having simultaneous hot and heavy wet dreams (I can’t tell who is dreaming what!) as he tells her that she and Will are his life and he should have never let Kate come between them. Sami talks about how she let revenge take over her life and begs for forgiveness. Lucas tells her they need to put all that behind them and learn to forgive each other. He says marrying Carrie was a mistake…when Sami is the one he loves. Sami counters that she went after Austin only because she couldn’t have Lucas…he is her one true love. He says that fate says that they belong together and he isn’t going to fight it any longer. Sami wakes up in a sweat and can’t believe she was dreaming about Lucas. Lucas wakes up as well and curses Sami for invading his dreams. We see a split screen of them (each in their own beds) as both get up. They run into each other in the living room, both claiming to need water. (There is some STRONG sexual tension there). Later, Lucas watches as he can’t believe she is making warm milk on such a hot night. She asks what about him…he is breathing hard and all sweaty and says he looks like he had just…(and trails off). He claims he did push ups before going to bed, lol. He talks about how he has been working out so hard lately as she gives him the once over and says she can tell. He asks what’s up with her…she has goose bumps. She stumbles around and says something about a new moisturizer, lol. She opts for some bottled water over the warm milk and he helps her open the lid. He notices a magnet on the fridge from where they went on vacation with Will. Insert some (fake, I think) flashbacks of them after skinny dipping in the lake. She says she is sorry things didn’t turn out better for them. They lean in closer and closer, coming oh-so-close to a kiss…until Lucas breaks away and goes to check on Carrie (who they think is still in the tub). He sees she isn’t there and they both realize that she and Austin may be together…on the roof…as they take off up there.

On the Roof…Carrie goes up to find Austin there and they start kissing. She pulls away, telling him it is wrong, but they keep on anyway. She tells him no again, saying that they can’t do this to Lucas and Sami. But he says they are not being honest with themselves…OR with Lucas and Sami. They love each other and should be together. He says they love each other…always have…always will. But Carrie says this is all wrong. Austin says he does love Sami, but not the same he feels for Carrie…and he thinks it is the same for her and Lucas. He says he only turned to Sami because Carrie chose Lucas. He knows that Carrie was keeping something from him and presses her to tell him what. But she tells him it is too late now. He wants to know and she searches for an answer but everything she says sounds lame. She tells him that after her surgery, she learned her clock was ticking and she married Lucas because she thought it would be her only chance at having a family. She says she chose marriage and a baby over being with him. She admits she married Lucas for the wrong reasons and it was a mistake. Austin says that everything has changed now and kisses her. He says she needs to do some serious soul-searching…does she want to be with Lucas or him? They start kissing again as both tell the other they love each other. Carrie asks him to make love to her. As he spreads out a blanket on the floor, she slips out of her gown. They are kissing as they sink to the floor…and the previews show…

Mimi (to Shawn): I know how important honesty has always been to you…so, I’d say it’s about time we are honest about everything…what do you say?...

Austin (to Carrie): We’re together…as it was always meant to be…(as the door to the roof opens while they are making out)…

Lucas (to Sami): You turned your life around…you have changed. (Sami): No, I am the same lying, manipulative, BITCH I have always been…

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2ND, 2006

Episode #10,369
Tape date 6/30
Director Herb Stein

Salemites continue to stay cool in more ways than one, as the A/C breaks down again in the lofts, Sami is pressured to open the note left by the black glove, and Jack teeters on the edge of life and death.

THE LOFT DWELLERS

Shawn sits shirtless, sweltering, as Mimi complains that every time the termperature hits 90, the A/C breaks down. They can hear Claire crying, thru the vents (who needs to bug any of these apts., and this is ridiculous that everything can be heard so easily from across the hall). Shawn can’t stand it, goes over to help. He manages to quiet Claire down within about 5 seconds, amazing man! Now cue Belle to go into her “You are great father, we should raise our baby that I am carrying together” mantra. Shawn tells her Philip will be the baby’s father, he is a great one. (By the way, Philip is at hospital getting his prosthesis fixed after the accident) She argues, he talks about the vows they made to spouses, and that she has a baby with Philip. Yada, yada. Meanwhile, Mimi has called Patrick over for support, he urges her to tell, they go out in hall, and hear all of the conversation between Shawn & Belle. (Gee, how come they cannot hear thru vents, lol). She goes walking in, & Shawn says he wants to set up a fan to circulate some air in the room. Patrick offers to help. (Gee, 2 big, strong guys to carry a fan from another area and then plug it in. How come I can do that very easily all by myself….Ha) Now, Belle doubles over with cramps, Shawn rushes to her side, insists on taking her to hospital, with Mimi & Patrick staying behind to watch Claire. Shawn helps her walk out, but carries her into hospital, asking for help with her.

THE HOSPITAL

Lexie sponges off a rather lifeless Jack, strokes his forehead, telling him she is so sorry. She leaves the room. Jack’s spirit leaves his body, and goes to stand by the window. Abby comes rushing in, laying her head on her father’s chest, as spirit Jack watches. She begs her dad not to die, that he has come back to them before. She cries as she tells him he promised to be at her wedding, walk her down the aisle and dance with her. Spirit Jack has a fantasy of dancing with Abby in her wedding dress (she looks absolutely beautiful, just gorgeous) and remembers that he did promise this. (Abby is wonderful in these scenes, heartfelt & emotional) Outside in the hall, Jen rails against it all, as Lexie tells her they are losing him. Frankie chooses this time to give Jen a letter Jack wrote, that he asked Frankie to keep and give to Jen at this time. She silently reads it, as we hear Jack’s voice reading it aloud. He talks of his journalistic dreams, and how Jen made him a better man, and he has all he has every wanted with the wonderful family they created together. There is a page 2, a p.s. to Frankie, telling him he is the best friend anyone could want, and Jack knows he will take care of Jen and be a wonderful husband and stepfather to Abby & Jack, Jr.

Inside the room, Abby continues to beg her dad not to leave them. Spirit Jack asks God to help him here. Abby talks of how he left them other times, and she always had faith, and she has faith now, saying he hasn’t used up his 9 lives yet. Spirit Jack now flashes back to the various times he “returned from the dead” to Jen, …….on Abby’s birthday in the hospital with the cake, Hope & Bo bringing a disheveled Jack into the house to Jen, Indiana Jack rescuing Jennifer on Melaswen……he realizes he really has not used up his 9 lives yet. Now the monitor is beeping, and spirit Jack realizes he, himself, has to fight, so rejoins his body. Abby wants to know if he can hear her, he squeezes her hand. Now the monitor flatlines, an intern rushes in, calling Code Blue, and yelling for a crash cart. He chases Abby out, as Lexie arrives and rushes into the room. Frankie comforts Jen & Abby. Finally, Lexie comes out with her doom & gloom face, but then tells them that Jack’s fever broke, the experimental drugs seem to be working, and she thinks he is going to be o.k. Jen & Abby rush into Jack’s room, as Lexie says she doesn’t know what to say (to Frankie). He replies that this is how it was meant to be. He watches Jack & his family thru the window, saying….Way to go, Jack.

SAMI’S APT.

The quartet, which actually is now a quintet, watches as Sami’s opens the note the Black Glove left, and ask her what it says. Sami, who always thinks fast on her feet, it seems, says she can’t tell them, because it is a surprise. EJ says her name, wanting her to be truthful, but Sami insists it concerns a surprise she was planning for Austin, and that EJ was helping her. But that things were changed because of Austin’s surprise. EJ tries to get her to own up to no avail. She goes to get some wine for everyone, as Lucas follows, telling her he knows something is up. Sami denies it, and they talk a bit about Sami saving Lucas’s life, for which he is greatful. Austin now pressures Carrie to continue their talk. Lucas goes to check the hallway and lobby. Austin & Carrie argue over whether she would have married Lucas had she not been pregnant. Carrie tells him he is engaged to her sister. Austin says he only stopped going after Carrie when she turned up pregnant. But she never was. EJ reads the note, which is quite lengthy, and describes how Sami blackmailed Lexie to come up with a way to have Carrie not choose Austin, the genetic marker story that Lexie told her, the whole ball of wax. (yes, I know, we have heard it all before, again, and again, and again. Nothing new, folks.) Lucas returns, saying he thinks the person he saw came thru an open window on fire escape, intending to try and rob the apts. (rolling eyes here) and he shut the window. Carrie says she is going to take a bath before bed, and leaves, as Lucas retreats to the bedroom. Austin says he is going to go to the roof to clean up after the dinner, and tells Sami to stay behind, relax. He leaves. EJ warns Sami once more to tell Austin herself. That the note was purposely delivered while everyone was there so they would all know she got it. She says she will think of something in the morning. He leaves. Lucas comes out of his room, in a bathrobe that is open, and knocks on the bathroom door, telling Carrie to hurry up. Sami & he talk a bit, as there seems to be a bit of sexual tension between them, but he goes to his room. Sami goes to hers. Carrie comes out of the bathroom, moves a chair over to the window and climbs out the fire escape and up to the roof. Austin says, you came. Carrie replies, "You seemed to want me to come." They kiss…passionately. And the previews roll….

Sami: You know I haven’t thought about that in a long time
Lucas: Seems like it was yesterday, doesn’t it?

Austin to Carrie: You are keeping something from me, and I want you to tell me what it is

Mimi: Oh, my gosh, I don’t believe this
Bonnie comes over: Good Lord almightly. (I think they are looking at a computer screen)

Belle to Shawn: We’ve never stopped loving each other and even if we tried to stop it, we couldn’t. That’s just the way it is.
